I've been following you for quite some time, but I have a few questions. One is, what would you say is the optimal sleeping position for keeping good posture? I've read that ancient Indians used a special flat board to lay on which kept the baby's mouth from falling open. Also I read that sleeping on your left side helps organs to work more efficiently, but I have adopted sleeping on my back as the most effective (I think). I noticed it's harder to breathe when laying on my side/back and it could mess up joints in the shoulder in the long run. What are your thoughts on this? BTW I love y'all and everything y'all are doing. Keep up the good work. : )
You might be interested in Alexander technique. It covers efficient and healthy posture for all sorts of activities including sleeping, and they recommend sleeping on your back as best, and side with a pillow between your knees as second best.
He won't reply so I'll tell you my guy... you've got to float. It's a little uncomfortable at first but you'll get used to it. Arms crossed against chest, legs straight, mid air... it's the only way to ensure no body parts are strained or contorted. You're welcome (:

I have never realized until now that my overbite, upper and lower teeth misalignment are significant. I breathe through nose usually, but I often snore during sleep, especially when tired. I have Sinusitis for almost 10 years. I tried swallowing with tongue touching palate, but the lower teeth and jaw keep returning to their abnormal old position. Should one align their upper and lower teeth while swallowing in the correct way?
I think i'm doing it incorrectly, but I don't know what my mistake is. My problem is that when swallowing I'm just not able to swallow saliva 'cause it isn't on my tongue, so I swallow a tiny amount of it and the rest starts to acumulate on my mouth. I feel like I have to use my buccinators to put the saliva in the right place or like I have to move my tongue around my mouth to get the saliva on my tongue and then be able to swallow it. What am I supost to do? (Sorry for my english)
It seems the general rule is that you should use your tongue to scoop up saliva instead of trying to suck all the saliva back. But I think you make a good point. Although *some* saliva can be scooped up and then swallowed with an undulating motion of the tongue, there is also saliva that will tend to accumulate elsewhere in the mouth. For example, some of the saliva is going to pool between the molars and the cheeks with no easy way to scoop it up with the tongue. You will need some slight buccinator engagement to collect this saliva. No one swallows with 100% tongue and no one swallows with 100% buccinator. Perhaps a more accurate way to think about it is moving from a buccinator-dominant technique to a tongue-dominant technique.
@@poleag Hi could you please help me with this? I am not sure how to collect the saliva from the bottom of my mouth, I tried the tongue sweep, but I start to get sensitive front teeth from touching the front teeth while trying to do the tongue sweep, please help!

I understood this CLEARLY when Dr swallowed the water for the first time. In my region many people drink water from the bottle without sipping and without taking breaks in between. Wondering about Mike's familiarity with Leonora & Steinman ...

@@musicandlaughter_ NOT SURE YET WORKING TOWARDS MUSCLE MEMORY FOR TONGUE POSITION BUT PLUS THE SWALLOWING PART IS ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT.
@@NoirL.A.how’s it going?
update?
I already don't like drinking water and I am pretty sure I'd just dehydrate myself rather than trying to drink like this.
I find taping my mouth together is helpful so I don't rely on my lips to swallow.
Dr Mike sounds perfect on 2x
Who would've thought there's a right way to SWALLOW..
I've always done this but it's really interesting to hear it described and actually sit & think it through
May you explain it I can’t get it
set playback speed to x1.25, you're welcome
been doing this for a year now and my jaw is definetly bigger and sharper, never taught it would work tbh
She may not know how to swallow but she's got impeccable posture.
Joseph Watkins bump I would also like to know that
You might be interested in Alexander technique.
You're welcome (:
sleep on your right side
Ric Sims actually your heart is located in the center of your chest
I’m having a clicking sound in my throat when I am swallowing like this - any tips anyone?
Whenever I heard the complaints of my mother or grandma how some pills are too big or hard to swallow I did not know there was a wrong way to swallow and thought its just psychological.
Curious to know how pills being too hard or big is related to swallowing?
currently watching, Your teaching style is very targeting to me :D. I am spreading the message as a personal trainer, overall health instructor i would even say hahah
Why do the comments say 3 years ago but the video was published September last year ?
There should be a video which doesnt contain any information and only what we need to do and how
I think i'm doing it incorrectly, but I don't know what my mistake is.
I’m struggling to eat solid foods without tongue thrusting as a swallow.
I did not understand the sweeping pattern. Did anyone? Other than that, thanks for the great work, Dr Mew and Dr Mew!
You can see that the first audience of Orthotropics were incels and looksmaxxers. Almost all the comments before 2 years ago all have incel-ly terms. I don't have anything against them. I am a looksmaxxer myself but just wanted to point it out.
Can sombody get this man a Interpreter
What if the girl just lost it and started laughing suddenly while filming this video......... that would be me
Wow! The cheesy smile technique really helped me understand how much I suck my teeth/cheeks in when I swallow! Hoping I can correct that and move onto the Mona Lisa smile technique!
I just discovered my throat makes sound when i drink water.

It shouldn't?
ITS IT NORMAL TO FEEL A LITTLE BIT OF TIENESS BEHIND MY NECK
7:34 who else took a sip of water at this moment and drown with it?
I heard this trendy thing of learning how to swallow. I watched this video and I realized I don’t know how to swallow wrong
I understood this CLEARLY when Dr swallowed the water for the first time. In my region many people drink water from the bottle without sipping and without taking breaks in between. I would really like to know if the Dr means this as Push swallow.. Although I'm able to do this for water I'm not able to do this for normal sailva. I've just got introduced to this channel today so my tongue is pretty much between my teeth so I don't have that 'practice' yet. So I'd like to know if even saliva should be swallowed by the push swallow
I can never seem to scoop up remaining water without suction or movement in my face. Its bloody hard, almost feels impossible :/
Setting the speed to 1.5 is a lot better
I think he definitely had a hard time getting these kids to actually do it, so his data was likely inconclusive, and that is why credible scientists do not like him because he presented it as fact when it still is just conjecture without sufficient evidence to back it up.
Very hard but worth it
thank you for sharing this with us.
The thing with these videos is you take something fairly simple just hard to form a habit and over complicate it which overwhelms me and turns me away could you please make a shorter video on what to do and if we have further questions we can look back on this
