    Ke deserves every single praise and award he gets. He’s probably the only actor who is truly grateful and yet still innocent and with that child like wonder that is so endearing.

      @@riah8600 Curtis promoted collectivism over individualism. Quan talked about his story of a refugee moving to American and achieving the American dream. Yeoh talked about race, gender and age. Politics is everywhere and you cannot get away from it.

    • @emilerose1424
      @emilerose1424 Рік тому +2

      @@commenter4898 and @Ria H: If it is "political" for people to speak of their personal journeys with being refugees, or of their experiences with racial, age and gender exclusion, then being silent on those issues is also political. Your comments hint that you have possibly received gender, nationality and racial allowances that you see as "normal,"not as privileges. Good for you. But why be blind to the fact that what is "normal" for some of us is often the norm only for "people like us"---and that's a privilege. And unacknowledged privileges are political.

    • @commenter4898
      @commenter4898 Рік тому +4

      @@emilerose1424 Yes. Everything involving people or value judgement is political, and there is nothing wrong with being political, just like there is nothing wrong to be human. Being able to speak about your own life in a democratic country is political. Not being able to do so in a authoritarian country is too. We using English now is also political. I think Ria H is the person you should be replying to.

    I liked Everything Everywhere All at Once. It wasn't an easy movie to watch, but once I got onboard I appreciated what they were going for. I can understand why some people didn't like it - that's true of many movies - but I feel it deserved the recognition it received. Regarding the Oscars, there are always disagreements about who gets nominated, etc, and I expect that will always be the case. Perhaps one thing we can all agree on was the fact that there were no "incidents" this year to tarnish the event.
