I love this film. This is not a film that was made in a lab to win Oscars. It wore its weirdness on its sleeve and told an emotional story at its core.

I totally agree with you. I love that the movie and the actors started and finished with movie with no expectations of the amount of awards they have received. Unlike a lot of the movies that were released closer to the awards season, this movie was released early in 2022, with a lot of the moviegoers finding about it via social media and word of mouth. It’s incredible, the dialoue beautiful, the music amazing, the editing crazy good and the performances are nuanced and shows the performers’ range.

You got to love Spielberg's reaction! Despite changing the box-office landscape at 27, he only received Oscar recognition in his late 40s. Seeing young filmmakers who grew up watching his films win, for a delightfully weird science fiction no less, is one of Spielberg's greatest legacies.

A24 comes for blood. They release the most emotionally satisfying, gorgeous and odd films we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. That studio is just such a breath of fresh air in a world of popcorn nonsense, useless sequels and badly done remakes. We deserve to see these people’s visions. Long live A24!

I got to see this film in theaters on my birthday a year ago for the first time with my whole family, and while they didn't completely get it, I was blown away and instantly knew this film joined the ranks of some of my favorite films of all-time. So imagine my surprise when it not only took home the Best Picture Oscar, but six more?! I couldn't be happier, this film is a miracle and it means so much to me. Congrats to the Daniels, their cast, their crew, and A24!!

In my opinion the only real competition to EEAAO was Banshees of Inishirin and possibly Triangle of Sadness. But let's face it all anyone really wanted to see was Indy and Short Round. One thing nobody in the comments seems to be talking about though is seeing James Hong up there for an Oscar winning picture after having been acting since the early 50s.

Jerry Bruckheimer is usually not the type of producer who makes “Oscar worthy” films. I’m glad he got that kind of recognition here, but I do think he should have been nominated prior to Maverick. Crimson Tide and Black Hawk Down should have been his first nominations.

It was probably because he knew all he had to say was “everything” and everyone in the room would know that the film had won. Which is clearly the case as they start clapping the moment he says the first word. So he slowly finishes it like “well, i don’t need to finish saying it, but I will.”

Here's what producer Jonathan Wang ACTUALLY meant to say at 3:15 when he mistakenly said that "no person is more important than profits"
"...and to my dad, who worked himself into an early grave like so many immigrant parents, I know that he would be so proud of us. Not because we won this award, but because we made this film with the values he instilled in me: that people are always more important than profits, and that no one is more valuable than anyone else regardless of their fame, fortune, or power. Thank you 王大張! Memory eternal!"

What EEAAO movie shown is about one concept called parallel existsnce. Why living with love is important and not to forgot ones own Dharma and how it affects not only in one existance(like here) but also parallel existances
