A lot of games are losing some minimal details. Like get wet on water, grass moving... it's like the people from companies they regretted to expend money on this kind of details.
FFXV was the most graphically advanced open world game of its time. I think that even today, it holds up on its own against even the best looking games. The time of day lighting system in this game is very smooth and changes in real time, unlike the horizon games where the entire 24 hours is divided into around 3 or 4 timeshifts.
FF15 is the better game. And i say that as a hardcore FF7 fan. The world feels more alive. Cooking (for buffs as a use of animal parts) Better photo mode (Promptos Album) Summons. Movement (you could jump!!!) Dialogue. Tasteful use of minigames. Rebirths just an unconnected mess with great ideas and mediocre/bad execution. Except QB. QB rocks.
FF15 has a certain “weight” / inertia to how your characters move. It’s a bit like comparing Dark Souls to a Devil May Cry game (FF7R would be DMC). Swinging weapons, you can “feel” if you are swinging a heavy or a light sword. The spells also have that physicality, even actually interacting with the world around them. When the character walks, you can feel their weight too. FF7R is completely fine for what it aims to do, and the combat is definitely more complex, but it absolutely lacks that same physics. It is the one aspect of FF15 that I miss the most and that is often overlooked. (I mean, just read some comments, some people don’t even seem to realize this difference…)
15 was really ahead of its time. Playing Rebirth in the open world reminded me of how good 15's open world and physics were compared to it. Not being able to play the rest of the party member is what gave it a bad rep, and also the story is meh. It's a shame how 15 was rushed in development.
bruh 15 was in development hell for 10 years before finally releasing it just had too many engine issues. look up versus xiii and you'll see what nomura was gonna cook on god.

I love the FF15 for all the RPG elements they included in the game. It made me feel like I was Noctis on discovery journey with his buddies. Rebirth on the other hand made me feel connected with the story more and I was on an adventure with amazing characters who all have deep meaningful back stories.
After I finished FF VII Remake and Rebirth, a friend recommended XV to me. And I have to say that the 15 has grown on me even more than any other part I've played. I love open world, the battle system (I don't use the waitmode) and I don't even need to start with the Regalia (Type D). And the OST gave me chills. Especially “Apocalypse Noctis” When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind. In the 15th, everything is "alive" up to the horizon and the day-night cycle also brings in dynamism. And I also particularly like the little things, such as Noctis getting dirty from fighting and fishing, or his hairstyle no longer being neat due to the rain. I also like the dynamic between the guys more. In the 7, I'm particularly bothered by the whining and pushy nature of Tifa's character. The story of 15 is a bit confusing, I don't want to contradict that, but since I know or have all the media around, I can figure out the connections. The story of 7 is largely known, but now the changes make the story more complicated for players who know the original. Since I've found Zack to be my favorite FFVII character since Crisis Core, I'm naturally very excited to see how he fits into the whole story. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the third part of the 7. But the 15 will probably remain number one for me for the time being.
Thank you for appreciating 15. It also had another spin off games. The problem was they were abandoned. I really wanted the episode dlc that weren't released it sucks as the director cave in as he wasn't the original one so the very dark story of VS 13 didn't make it and completely changed just to be incomplete. 15 has a world that is more alive than 7 considering it's much bigger.
XV is finally loved like it deserved since its release and I still hope that people will continue to give it a chance now that the game is mostly fixed.
Just started my third attempt of playing it. It's a really weird and bad game (mechanics en storytelling). But if you get through it and start to understand it it becomes a bit more enjoyable. The graphics are still good and there is much to like. But its a though game
@@wesleymaduro5795 I don't follow you on the "bad game" stuff. Mechanics are cool, the interactions between the boys are the best of the franchise. It's the carbon for VII REBIRTH, if VII REBIRTH can run it's just because XIII and XV walked before.
I'm going to start playing it soon. So many things about it actually look better than FF7 remake and FF16. I loved FF16 but it seems like the gameplay and environments were missing the character that FFXV had. This might be a hot take but FF7 Remake wasn't very immersive to me. I hope Rebirth is better but I don't plan on playing until it comes to PC.
Final Fantasy XV was a great game, have 200 hours in on PC, people hated on it like Arkham Knight, because anything with too much hype gets hated, the combat in the episode duscae got criticism so they listened to the gamers and added everything they wanted, and they still complained about the combat, because most Final Fantasy fans suck at action games, that's why they like Remake which isn't close to a real action game, can't even do combos, and the difficulty of the game rest on your materia load out more than your ability to play
The same case with Arkham Knight. Now it's all over social media, apreciating it more, especially when comparing it with Gotham Knights & Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
I like FF15 but FF7 Rebirth has a far superior combat. It's not evn close. FF7 Rebirth combat has far more depth and is more dynamic. This is mostly from the fact that FF15 combat was orignally just Noctis and the whole team was playable later on.
What I've seen, Rebirth combat is pretty much the same as it is in Remake. Did they improve it at least a bit? Because the combat in Remake is terrible. Objectively terrible in many ways. They should've put phasing from XV in Remake instead that terrible evade that does nothing.
@@MrHale it definitely feel smoother with bunch of new cool shits that you can do. also unlike the remake, successfully parrying attacks dont cost you health so there is also that. so i wouldnt say ''least a bit'' one can even enjoy it if it had hud off option, because holy shit i cannot see the characters 😅
FFXV has better lighting, textures, animations and physics. Rebirth animations and physics are terrible, battle mechanics are much better but the animation doesn’t give weight to Cloud’s attacks. Big broken boulders and crystals get kicked around like styrofoam… clothes don’t get wet and the camera angle is really tight, u hv to fiddle around the right stick to hv a better look at your surroundings and it’s tough to get your bearings. Still a superb and enjoyable game.
The one thing I didn't really care for with the summons, or Astrals, in FFXV is they could only be summoned under special conditions. Like Ramuh would show up if every party member was critical health, Leviathan only showed up if you were in trouble and near a body of water, Titan would appear only in wide open areas, Shiva I swear never showed up but like twice for me, not including the scripted summon moment against Ifrit; they were more like finisher summons and not helpers.
I’ve been stuck on the Midgardsormer fight in FFVII rebirth Hard mode for two days… I finally beat him just now and I can’t stop celebrating it feels so good 🙌🏻 🎉 🎊 dang though Hard mode is Hard lol
Everyone saying OH GRAPHICS THIS AND THAT but no one is talking about gameplay ff7 remake gameplay is 10 times better has weight and depth FFXV combat is button mashy and you have to craft spells each TIME.
FF15 is a true open world game which I absolutely loved. FF7 Rebirth is not quite 100% open world in the sense that 15 is, but it's close. I hope FF17 is a true open world game.
I have to agree. People who say rebirth has a lot of content is delusional. It's essentially the same copy pasta open world quests for each region. Then add the contextualized story beats in some of the side quests. Doesn't respect your time as a player
This is laughable because even with the upgraded car and airship most of the FFXV open world isn’t explorable whereas the entire ff7 rebirth map is explorable and can be gone through on tiny bronco, chocobo, walking, etc. FFXV is much less explorable than 7 rebirth. Since you call the different regions “zones,” and not all one world I think you didn’t beat the game and get to ch. 12 with the tiny bronco, where all the regions become connected.
@@Erikthedoodok the difference between the two besides the story and year they were released is that open world of 15 just had more details in terms of realism outside town. True, that the NPC in towns or cities of 7 is better however, you spend majority of your time outside as you have to grind and search for resources. 15 had these details from your characters getting dirty, camping, day and night cycle, pronto taking pictures, and spells or throwables have effects in the environment. 7 is better game however, the idea of splitting it into 3 episodes is basically milking the fans with saves from remake not getting carried just 1 or 2 summons. Then, start all over. I platinum rebirth and with so many mini games they can drain you. QB was fun. I honestly didn't like the open world of rebirth as it's really beautiful besides that it felt empty besides being in a city or town that I hardly stay in. If the third one comes out I may not platinum it anymore as what's the point if it doesn't carry over.
It's crazy how much content FFXV has. I think it has the most content out of every Final Fantasy game to date. Not only is the game itself like 150 hours with all of it's content, but there are four story expansions too. Yeah they're not very long, but still they were definitely a necessary addition to the game to understand what happens to each member that gets separated at one point or another. Also there are a bunch of spinoffs and even a CGI movie to help fill in the gaps of the story. Yeah the story wasn't very good, in fact it was pretty disjointed and felt rushed, but the gameplay and world exploration definitely made up for that, in my opinion.
FFXV was the first FF that truly finally gave me the trust that FF is back to its AAA game. It was THE way proven to bring back FF to the modern era in game play. Now. The only thing that lacked for me was that even though the game was really good and gameplay super solid, the world was TOO small, and the story was just a goddamn boyband on a stroll. Sorry. But that definitely is anticlimactic. So. FFVII rebirth is where FF finally is Masterpiece level to the original FF VII, VIII, IX, X, XII. This is truly how FF should be. Im still finishing FF7 rebirth but its just so good. Ok. Minigames could be less in amount. But the game itself is just incredible, and story >>>> any story of any RPG of last 10 years. But that's what made the original FF7 so good and a extreme icon of the entire game industry that massively influenced it.
Cant wait for the day square enix kisses & makes up with the guy who made ffxv so we can get a remake. It already had a good foundation just fix it up and give us a definitive version with better story telling and use of the open world. And don't blue ball me with Tenebrae again.
Sure rebirth overall is a better game, but I think I like XV environment better. Also like the summons in XV way more and Prompto's random pictures are such a great idea
15 is eye candy. looks beatiful. the effects are pretty, the world is full of things to see. The soundtrack is the best. But then that's it, combat is ass, you use a vehicle that is more train than car. characters have almost 0 development. story is ass. Side quest's don't matter. Weapons all play the same. FF7 rebirth on the other hand has the most diverse combat ever on a ff. The story is awesome. The cast is probably the best group of characters in gaming. Every enemy is iconic not to mention the bosses. All the main areas are literally the nostalgia filter from the original times 100. Bought my ps5 basically just to play it.
Bro 15 had such great characters, their friendship was the best thing in the game. Their dialogues, interactions everything felt wholesome. I personally loved 15.
@@EarthWalker0only good thing about 15 was how alive the party felt and the graphics. Combat is dogshit and dont get me started on how they handled telling the story through dlcs and books and movies instead of in game

@@FeeIRG lol combat's not even close to deep. It's dmc5 mixed with god of war but it's like a 1 year baby, still doesn't walk, only crawls, pukes and shits. You can do sick combos sure, but the difficulty is non existence. I like the game, mostly for the story, characters, world building and the visual aspect. Gameplay is ok at best
It's impossible not to respect & love the details that went into FFXV! If they put that level of detail into FF16, it could've been a masterpiece. Haven't played Rebirth yet though.
It's a definite design philosophy. Keep in mind that XV's world was designed to immerse you into it, and particularly the road trip aspect. This leads to more organic world design, vs. world design meant to compensate for gameplay. One is not better than the other. Rebirth's world was absolutely meant to compensate for gameplay (and the fact that you primarily travel on-foot), so world design is more condensed as a result.

FFXV looks amazing because this is a Royal Edition that you are looking (PC) vs FFVII Rebirth (PS5), the first version of FFXV in PS4 is a lot different from PC Royal Edition, so maybe we should compare PC versions and look an accurate difference
That's beacuse the majority of remake is at night where the game looks the best for some reason whenever its day time in both remake and rebirth it looks worse

man it's a shame they trashed the luminous engine but considering the problems while development of 15, i can see why they changed to a more practical engine
Can someone explain to me why current gen resolution is so blurry compared to last gen? Like I know there is AI image upscaling and heavy antialiasing, but with the increased resolution and better hardware, I thought games would look even more crisp. Some do, but a lot of recent games look like they have all of their textures and geometry smeared with Vaseline.
it's a crazy known that those characters in the buggy are not death in one of the accident in the way! seriously!. in real life, a roofless truck rolling around is certain death.
You know that there are roughly 7 years between the two, right? Rebirth had time to develop and there was also the Remake, which many liked, so they knew what more had to be added to Rebirth to make it good.
Rebirth's mechanics aren't meant to look as realistic as those in FF15. It's meant to recall a 1997 game with newer graphics and gameplay. You won't see a Firaga or a Blizzaga that burn the floor or create and actual blizzard. Also why would the characters even want to endanger the planet they're trying to protect (if we go by the themes of the game)?
FFXV remains a very beautiful game but after that it does not compare to Rebirth on almost everything else, whether it is the gameplay, the variety of content, the interest in exploration (and again Rebirth is far from being the best game on this point but it still better than FFXV) the variety of environments and their richness too, the side quests, the story, ect.... FFXV is a nice game but full of flaws even in the most important aspects. It will forever remain a game with wasted potential in chaotic development despite the various DLCs and the Royal edition. But we can still appreciate its universe and its fights (which are far from the level of Rebirth or Remake but fun to play).
Let's be honest, FFXV improved the combat from FFVII remake, WHY? Those of us who played both games know that in FFXV the difficulty is hard to explain but when you get certain weapons and you manage to do 5000 to 9999 damage per hit is where the difficulty drops even more and the bosses just have more life, some have good interesting attacks but when they do 9999 damage per hit, you end up pressing the same key until you defeat them. FFVII remake remakes that system and makes it more balanced, which in theory is better, FFXV is more enjoyable with a mid-level weapon that doesn't do 9999 damage only 4000 and just by lowering the damage to the weapons you make the game balanced, hard to believe but true ... after 100 hours of FFXV I plan to replay it with low weapons to enjoy the story, otherwise I'll finish the game in one hit.
I will never understand why FF15 had such a complicated unfun gameplay , not fond of the more action oriented gameplay of XVI and VIl R but at least it’s fun
Do it, bro: Final Fantasy XV _VS_ Final Fantasy VII Rebirth _VS_ Final Fantasy XVI in 4K. My own ranking: FF7 Remake + Rebirth = FF15 Royal Edition = Masterpieces > FF16. FFVII Rebirth is da best here... just a little bit better than FFXV. (Only because of canceled DLCs from XV and not yet having hard mode) 😎
15s world was just empty mostly and bland. Rebirth has more epic scenes and a absolutely more superior battle system, I enjoyed 15 alot espically coming off the 3 disappointing ff13 games trilogy it was good to play 15 but just wasn’t all that great though more of a 7.5/10 game for me.

@@RemixedYoshialso, if you didnt have armiger unleashed, or knew how to have fun while in combat, yes the combat is lackluster because of how you it tells you to block and dodges for you (having fun has a skill gap in XV) basically instead of spamming square with the same weapon, youre supposed to switch between them to chain combos

the night is realistic in xv, everything being pitch black with only a few lights arounds, giving it more of an eerie feeling. Especially considering the fact the the nights keep getting longer the more you play the game due to the starscourge. I think it's a very unique twist instead of being able to see everything even though it's nighttime in an area without lights around.
Take it from a guy who loves 15 to death. I'm going to try and be civil, but I don't do well with criticisms. Anyway, yes, most combat encounters can be easily button mashed to victory, and the healing system is absolutely broken, but I find more joy in trying to max out the report card at the end of battles. People been theorizing that we'll get foliage movement when the pc version comes out
gaming has declined...
Cooking (for buffs as a use of animal parts)
Better photo mode (Promptos Album)

Tasteful use of minigames.

Oh my god you're completely right. That's why FF7R's movement felt so odd to me. They sort of move like... toys? Idk if that's a good example tho lol
@@nocteese that's correct example btw
Man, I need to get the Royal edition and replay 15
15 was really ahead of its time. Playing Rebirth in the open world reminded me of how good 15's open world and physics were compared to it. Not being able to play the rest of the party member is what gave it a bad rep, and also the story is meh. It's a shame how 15 was rushed in development.
bruh 15 was in development hell for 10 years before finally releasing it just had too many engine issues. look up versus xiii and you'll see what nomura was gonna cook on god.
You can actually play with the other characters now in royal edition

Especially “Apocalypse Noctis”
When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind.

I loved it.
16 easily has the best combat in the series
Ffxv was so hated when it came out but it actually looks better than current gen game.
The same case with Arkham Knight. Now it's all over social media, apreciating it more, especially when comparing it with Gotham Knights & Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Because story was dumb and thrown into 20 different formats
I like FF15 but FF7 Rebirth has a far superior combat. It's not evn close. FF7 Rebirth combat has far more depth and is more dynamic. This is mostly from the fact that FF15 combat was orignally just Noctis and the whole team was playable later on.
What I've seen, Rebirth combat is pretty much the same as it is in Remake. Did they improve it at least a bit? Because the combat in Remake is terrible. Objectively terrible in many ways. They should've put phasing from XV in Remake instead that terrible evade that does nothing.
@@MrHale It's expanded. You can do soo much in FF7 Rebirth. And you can actually evade and dodge in Rebirth, you couldn't in Remake.
@@MrHale it definitely feel smoother with bunch of new cool shits that you can do. also unlike the remake, successfully parrying attacks dont cost you health so there is also that. so i wouldnt say ''least a bit''
one can even enjoy it if it had hud off option, because holy shit i cannot see the characters 😅

FF7 rebirth looks like horseshit. It looks like a switch port instead of a native ps5 game.
First moment I played rebirth, it reminded me strongly of FF XV. Apparently it is obvious for everyone.
FF15 is a true open world game which I absolutely loved. FF7 Rebirth is not quite 100% open world in the sense that 15 is, but it's close. I hope FF17 is a true open world game.
The barebone ff15 open world which is literally empty. 0 town . And npc is bare min, rebirth town actually feel like a town unlike 15
@@junwong23final fantasy as a series is built on the concept of not respecting peoples time why do you think ffx had the monster arena
Rebirth graphics hasn’t gone far from the ps4 predecessor.
Magic in FF15 look so powerful. I think this could be one key element they could put into their next final fantasy game.
You want 15s magic quality in 16s gameplay?
They put it in Forspoken as they both used Luminous Engine.
Cant wait for the day square enix kisses & makes up with the guy who made ffxv so we can get a remake. It already had a good foundation just fix it up and give us a definitive version with better story telling and use of the open world. And don't blue ball me with Tenebrae again.

8 years later and FFXV is still impressive, more impressive than a 2024 game no less.

15's environments are honestly better than rebirth's
It's a definite design philosophy. Keep in mind that XV's world was designed to immerse you into it, and particularly the road trip aspect. This leads to more organic world design, vs. world design meant to compensate for gameplay. One is not better than the other. Rebirth's world was absolutely meant to compensate for gameplay (and the fact that you primarily travel on-foot), so world design is more condensed as a result.

Los dos son increibles ❤
