As others have already pointed out, this is not my idea of justice. A premeditated murder, desecration of a body by the murderer, robbing an innocent child of his mother, and all the rest. The sentence does not reflect an adequate punishment for such a horrendous crime. Not knowing how the NZ laws are structured regarding Capital murder makes me think it is possible to take another person’s life and receive a mild slap on the wrist kind of punishment. Not justice.

In the words of Carmen's mother Teresa Scott who lives in S Africa 'her daughter had come to New Zealand from England for Jack's dad, whom she met in the UK and later separated from. She had a marketing degree and had initially worked at a recruitment agency when she moved to Auckland'
Mother daughter did not share the best of relationships & the last communication was by email some 9 weeks before the murder. Communication between them was not frequent.

@@mrquick6775 That sounds like quite a stretch in thinking to me. First, my opinion is in no way based on caring less for men than women - a really big stretch on your part. Second, how can you possibly assume he would be telling the truth about anything? An even bigger stretch is required to think a psychopath/sociopath is capable of offering anything other than lies at the best of times; when facing consequences for their actions as he was at that time, truthfulness is practically unheard of. Third, some of us are capable of deciphering individual cases based on the facts presented and without making gender a consideration. If there was any proof that she had indeed lied to him about paternity, that would have been despicable, but still not justification to do what he did. How anyone could reach the conclusion that she brought this all on by lying about paternity says much more about you than her, and goes beyond simple stretching of the facts. Did you even watch the video? I'm led to believe that you have been wronged, from your perspective, by one or more females in the past. Or are you just aiming to get under the skin of others?

You seem genuine and please know that some of us are able to care equally for either gender, depending on the circumstances. Some of the information you listed is skewed however as she didn't destroy any life - the creep only came up with the idea of accusing her of the paternity lie in an attempt to lessen his culpability once in court and facing the charges. It actually could have been a blessing for the son though if it had been true. You offered me love and blessings earlier, and I would like to reciprocate with same. Take care.
