I’m a big guy at 6-5 and need all the room I can get. Thanks for the info.
the seating position in the x3 is perfect , they really nail it by grabbing tips from sport cars manufactures and implemented the proper way a seat should be install in a high performance vehicle. i feel that people that hate the seating position are the guys that drive the rzr because im a skinny dude and i fit like the car was made to my height and weight no cap !!!!
It is good, for me just needed to be lowered cause of the roof but overall I really like how it comes from the factory, seating definitely is a personal thing and what works for some just does not work for others.
For a standard roof and cage you might want to add more holes to the front bracket to lower it half way. And if your short you could use a rod coupling to extend the bolt and use washers and a piece of pipe that fits over the rod coupling
Great idea, for me I found that the factory front location worked good but for others that would be a great solution! Thanks Gjones
super.
Use washers first ,to test the seat hight then cut the spacers.
That's a good way to do it. I decided to cut them proportionately as I wanted adjustability for different drivers but the washer method can really customize it to the specific driver
That tube would be a Spacer!
Yes sir!
Hi thank you for the video it's much appreciated I'm 66 and need all the room I could get. Is it possible to remove the tube/spacer in the back and not cut anything, drop the seat down then put the tube on top?
Yes you can definitely do that and it lowers he rear even more.
@@wernergarage7078 thank you
With the flat roof you added, what over all height does it give you now ?
From the ground to the roof?
Werner Garage Yes , I was looking at X.3RS max and with my enclosed trailer I was trying to stay under 6 foot for clearance.
Donnie Genton 64.5" tall to the top of the roof, I'm running 15" ride height with 32" tires, a stock car with 30" tires and factory roof should still be under 6' with out an issue, they have a much lower profile than a RZR.
Werner Garage I appreciate it thank you! Looks like I would still have room for a custom Rack !
Yeah so I just took the front nut and bolt off my Can-Am 2020 maverick X.3 RC and I’m in a wheelchair that’s the only reason I’m leaving a comment. And it’s not that simple as you state the tension when I push down on the seat in front to try to get it to those lower holes feels like I should loosen something in the back I’m no pro I don’t have a Can-Am Chiltons book But I think you left something out about adjusting the seat or I am inept
Hi JB, you will need to loosen the 2 rear nuts to remove the tension. Sorry that the video did not clarify that. There are to silver aluminum spacers that sit under the rear seat mount. In the video I cut those down to better adjust the seat to my needs.
So do you think lowering the seat gives more leg room or is it opposite?
Possibly more, your not tilting it forward your tilting it more back which should pull your legs back. Definitely will not loose leg room!
@@wernergarage7078 Well i got mine home and dropped the front 2 bolts down. Lost about 3 inches of legroom. The high position in the front seems best for legroom. Im going to try removing the rear spacer and see if its any better.
@@crookedpigsbbq I was referring to my seat mod. Since that is the video you commented on. Sorry for the misunderstanding, if you lower the back position that give the most leg room, it's an easy mod and it will allow you to lower the front and not loose the legroom.
Is this the best model of side by side, for bigger guys? The Ranger was not comfortable at all.
I think so, with the seat drop mod and the factory roof you would have lots of room, I have seen some pretty big guys ride in them no problem
@@wernergarage7078 thanks
No problem, be sure to try and sit in one first and if you need a couple more inches of headroom you can do what I did.
@@wernergarage7078 you think a 6’5 guy fits in the new smart shox can am if mods are added
I think so! Keep the factory roof and do my seat mod and I think you should be good.
If you're short like me, you should do the opposite. Keep front seat on high position and add 1/2" to spacer. Can the bolts be replaced for longer ones? They are probably welded into place. Bolt length would be the challenge for short people.
For shorter people leaving it stock is the highest position you can get. The bolts would be difficult to replace as I believe they are welded in.
@@wernergarage7078 I'm short so I like the extra seat height. I used a barrel nut and threaded rod to extend the back of seat.
@@rhaulman that's awesome! Great work around!
"tube" = spacer
Yep that's the proper definition 😎
@@wernergarage7078the guys pointing this out have nothing better to do.
