I got seriously sick years ago. I was bed ridden for a long time. Bored out of my brain, I decided to watch some UA-cam videos. I found your channel. You helped me through a bad time. Thank you!
@joemo1033 when we needed him most he returned. Jesus christ man are you not embarrassed saying something like that? Are you trying to get ted to like your comment? Is your life that sad?
You sold me YEARS ago on the Benjamin Discovery, I added a tko22 can and a 2nd barrel band and shot 20k pellets through it.. eventually it was stolen out of my truck, but until that happened, it was my absolute go to for pests. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of sparrows and starlings met their demise thanks to that setup 😏 now I have several pcps, but I'll never forget my first. Thank you Ted, you really opened the door in a big way for many people. Keep up the awesome work!
I was sold years ago from teds shooting with the edguns and early FX. Bought myself a marauder in .25 cal. That led to me owning numerous other pcp rifles over the past 10 years and now the younger members of my family shoot my near 15 year old upgraded, regulated and customized marauder. Fun hobby for the whole family. I own 2 large safe full of powder burners but… I always come back to airguns. Shoot right in your back yard and keeps your marksmanship sharp all year. Keep up the videos Ted. Always enjoy your content.
It's so awesome to see you again Ted I want you to do more videos but I know you have a family life and everything but it's amazing to see you again I love it
I'll credit you Ted for getting me into this hobby of pcp air rifles . I watched your videos for years, thinking it's too expensive for me, but last year I picked up several pcp air rifles including this one and I am very happy with it even being left handed I make it work . Love your content
Ted I remember your maurader videos from way back. There is no telling how many air gun enthusiasts you have unknowingly influenced but I know one…Me! Thanks I think! Lol. Great gun and video btw.
Ted, I'm glad to see you again, your presence is wonderful as always, I'm from Greece and I've been watching your videos since the beginning, well done and I hope more young people follow this hobby!
You had me years ago! Great to see you dropping again. Was planning to add a 25 to the mix and this one checks all the boxes. Your blessing is the closer however! Thanks
Ted, so nice to see you again. It's been quite some time and I have missed your videos. This rifle looks like a real winner! It's difficult to find a rifle that doesn't have a lot a plastic parts...just like vehicles. No plastic exudes quality. I ventured back into airguns in 2013. I have a Crosman Nitro Venom .22 and a Diana 34P in .22. I could not achieve consistent groups less than 1.5" at 25 yds with either of those break barrels. In 2018 I bought my first, and only, PCP. It is a Gamo Urban in .22 caliber. I paid $220 for it on Amazon along with a cheap Chinese hand pump for $85. I purchased a UTG 3-12x44 Compact scope for it. My sole purpose for an airgun is to protect my bluebirds from the harassing sparrows. I chose the Urban because it too is a quality airgun and basically a BSA Buccaneer at 1/3 the cost. My shooting distance to the nesting boxes in my back yard is 25-35 yds. This Gamo Urban is capable of 1/2" groups with a JSB 18.1g pellet at 30 yds. Like you, I shoot from my wife's sewing room. So far this year, I shot 11 sparrows from the 35-yard box. The Urban is very accurate and it's has never lost a pound of air in the five years I've owned it. The hand pump works as well as when I bought it in 2018. I do take care of my equipment. I put a few drops of silicone oil in the fill probe every few hundred shots and lube the hand pump with silicone oil once a year. I never over heat the pump either. I am 77 years old and have no issue with the hand pump. I shoot two mags, 20 shots, and refill. If I was in the market for another PCP, I would give this JTS a good look see. Thank for your honest review of this rifle. It's pretty impressive at that price point. Take care, and I hope to see more videos from you in the near future. 😉👍👍 Geo from Kalamazoo, MI
I bought gamo urban and jts airacuda standard both in .22 caliber. The guns are very accurate but i think airacuda is more accurate above 50 yards and way more powerful almost 40 fpe(urban 21 fpe)
@@chrisal36 Yes, the Urban is lower power. The hammer spring can be adjusted to increase the power up to almost 30 FPE. I do not have a chronograph but I have not seen a need to increase the power level. I have made one-shot kills on four woodchucks at 20-25 yds. Shot placement is most important when pesting. I don't think those woodchucks could tell that they were hit with only 23 FPE, and they were just as dead. If you need to go long range beyond 50 yds I can see the need for more power though.
Airacuda is better for hunting above 50 yards.urban is better choice for hunting below 50 yards and backyard plinking(it's a little quieter). Both guns are excellent choices for the money they cost
All hail King Ted!!! You are the reason I am looking at buying PCP rifle. I took many a rabbit as a kid with an old multi pump, 22 air gun (at close range). I bought a 10/22 Ruger, and over the decades have taken many a rabbit with it. Now, I can shoot 100yds with an air rifle? WOW! Thanks Ted More videos please........

Hey Ted, I ordered a .25 right after I watched your video. It just arrived about 30 minutes ago. Got a scope on it and give it a mag of pellets. It's terrific! Includes 2 of the mags out of the box. No plastic. Everything is very nice. Shoots terrific. Sighted in in just a few shots and with my own hand poured Noe mold .25 pellets it's shooting great group right out of the box. I did the 10 for$10 to make sure I got a new good rifle from Pyramid. (Don't ask) but I will do 10 for 10 from now on to make sure I always get a brand new gun not used from them. Anyway very pleased with it so far. I only bought this due to your recommendation. So please keep the reviews honest always just like I feel you always have. Thank you for that! Have fun!
I’ve been a subscriber for many, many years but you finally convinced me to purchase my first air gun. Thank you. Pyramid just shipped my order this morning.
You are the reason (5 months ago) that i bought this gun, the .25 and i never looked back. Very happy with my choise. I also put a accufire scope on it and its perfect. Thanks for changing my mind ( i first wanted a semi auto hatsan) :)
Ted, been watching in awe for a few years, dying to get into the hobby, but didn’t want to fork over 2G’s for a gun. Took your advice on this one-my first air gun; also, bought the JTS compressor, and I’m 60 y.o. Best advice, love the gun, thanks a million!!!!!
Happy Easter Ted and thanks for the review of an accurate, affordable rifle. Your straight forward evaluation and infectious enthusiasm is a blessing for me. Your time and efforts are always appreciated. May the rest of your day be great in every way and may tomorrow find you in it.
Wow, what a great video and what a great find. This may be the one that pulls me out of all my 22 long rifle target guns to do some PCP. Appreciate all you do
Ted is the reason I bought a PCP rifle. Bought a used FX Royale .22 1) because his early review of this very rifle a lot of years ago lol, 2) it was considerably cheaper than a comparable one that is new. The starlings used to stay just outside of range of the 'ol reliable Bejamin 392 .177, then came the hammer.... oh yeah mister starling you're 80 yards out there..... BAM! Thanks, Ted, for spending my money in a good way. Keep doing what you're doing.
Rabbit was totally unimpressed. Between yourself , Steve from airgun evolution and Norm and Keith from 68 whiskey my savings account may never recover but a whole lot of pests won't either. Thanks to all involved !!
And that's why i love this channel no paid BS Cow Dung , sugar coating. Trying to sell a gun. Just hhonest review for the AIr Rifle Community and the love for the sport.
You had me on the Benjamin Discovery however many years ago. I still have it and the floor pump is still working like a champ. I am not doing invasive species lethal removal like I used to. This area supports healthy native species.
Love that you're still doing videos. I subscribed to you over a decade ago and wanted to get into airgunning. Now I am finally able to with my own house with a few acres. Just picked up a new benjamin armada .25 cal with the scope on sale for about $550 and it's pretty freaking accurate for my first pcp gun.
Awesome video Ted. Always love the channel. So nice to see se someone supporting a product on its merits rather than outside influences. I’m personally looking more for just plinking. I’d love to know shot count with a.22 around 12 ft pounds. Guess I’ll have to wait for a review from across the pond. Thanks for making another video and sharing. On Wisconsin!
Had the pleasure of meeting Ted about 10 years ago at IWA was the only nice UA-camr there so as always I like this video, nice guy, knows his stuff, still normal
Usually I would listen to your expert advice Ted.. but I know that this Airacuda as fine a PCP as it is.. still does NOT beat the Air Venturi Avenger in performance or price! Air Venturi Avenger is still the King of the Budget PCP's!
Ted..😭 I’m so so happy I met you! I didn’t want to bother you too much but I was infatuated. Thank you for all you bring to the sport! The videos you put out are a blessing and thank you. without you a pellet gun and air rifle would hold no difference 💙 btw GO PACK GO
I bought my first air rifle, a Benjamin Discovery 22, because of this guy 8 years ago. It was a blast, and eventually stolen. Now after watching this video, I just spent 3 hours getting up to date again on the latest air rifle tech and... slugs?! and yes this one is indeed the best like he says so ok, heres my debit card, ship me this awesome Airacuda. Awesome name for an air rifle. Thanks Ted. Best channel of its kind in all the world. Someone tell me I'm wrong! Hey Ted, to hell with a pump, compressors are now $160 shipped on Amazon with decen enough reviews and numbers by far to justify the risk.
This is one of the best review videos ever. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and energy. I am new to airguns, and my first was a Notos which I love. Now I want a hunting rifle type. You sold me.😅 I'm in.😅 This gun checks all the boxes for me. And when I get it, I am doing the stock like you did in the "secret" video. It looks great. Thanks
First off, love your videos Ted you are partially responsible for hundreds of my dollars spent and completely responsible for putting this PCP monkey on my back so for that sir... I thank you. I have the jts airracuda standard in . 25 for all the reasons you stated in the video I knew it was going to be a great shooter from the moment I saw it so i ordered it within the first week they were out and have not been let down at all . As I said I am highly addicted to these PCP airguns so not long after that (maybe a month) I couldn't fight it anymore I knew it was going to be worth it so I scooped up the airracuda max in .22 and also got the max in .30 the day it dropped on pyramyd Air so needless to say I wholeheartedly agree about the value and quality from the jts line and cannot wait to see what they have to offer in very near future ( stealth hawk) I personally havent experienced any of the quality control issues I have plagued some users such as the clipping that is caused by the barrel crown or magazines not fitting properly due to the breach warping (as I understand it generally user error in over-tightening stock screw) I love the potential for adjustment being that you can adjust the valve, regulator and hammer spring for the Max and the standard can be adjusted just as easily minus the regulator but with the added adjustability of the transfer port but if I did have any complaints for lack of a better word it would be not having a 300 bar fill for the max or at least an external adjuster for the regulator and more than anything I think one of its greatest limiting factors is the shorty barrel at 430ish mm. I would have liked to have seen a 650 mm or 700 mm barrel for the .30 especially and maybe a 550 mm barrel for the standard but at the price I can't complain too much especially considering the accuracy that these things can produce and the stocks are gorgeous too in my opinion they need no further work but if you like a more polished look they look great that way too. Oh and FYI the power adjuster on a standard is simply a transfer port adjuster the hammer spring is adjusted at the back of the breach underneath the pellet pusher housing at the rear of the air tube, still very easy to adjust after taking the stock off.
aaaaannddd YUP! YA GOT ME! after being on the "sidelines" waiting to find an affordable product that is the "real deal" im now convinced and after watchcing hundreds of youtube videos this is my first cooment and wanted to thank you not only for pinpointing my concerns and extinguishing my doubts, I'm most thankful for the fact you give a relaxed and confident review without any salesmanship crap. I take pride in my senses regarding reading people and my senses tell me your genuine, a regular guy whos worked for his money and a guy with enough love in his heart to take the time while "KEEPING IT REAL" to share the love and awesomeness of this hobby..That being said, lol so yes, yes i will damn well be blaming YOU for my bank account being lightened every time i get that urge that no doubt ill be getting to purchase that next well reviewed new item pertaining to this hobby..lol so for that i say, "YOU BASTARD!" and as for the rest and the desire to buy ya a nice quality craft beer some day i say, "thank you". keep em comming...and to whomever mey be sponsering this guy..Be smart, give him what he needs because hes got the personality and camera equipment your brand should be looking for........
loved this as all of your videos. Especially the part about barrel bands. I have always seen that free floating was the way to go. Every time noobs modify their guns they seek out a bunch of barrel bands and then complain about clipping.
Picked one up based on this video came back to fill folks in . My unit arrived with a leaking foster fitting Pumped it to 3,000psi only to have it de-gas as i bled the pump. i had to disassemble and re assemble the fitting. The screw in the fitting was to lose it needed 4 turns to reach snug and then ¼ turn back. O rings were fine. If you are using a pump, pay for the leak test, but keep in mind that it puts you pretty close to other offerings that might shoot just as well . Whats good - the is the magazine, side cocking, trigger, pic rail and stock. All of this other than the aluminum magazine is pretty much standard now days. However thats on rifles that have plastic everywhere. These feel like a bull barrel rimfire and have similar accuracy.
just ordered your budget setup. hope hope hoping I will be able to hit these godawful starlings that are driving me nuts every single day!! thanks for a great video and happy holidays!
My .22 cal DAR Gen 3 was A LOT less than the Aircuda Max, uses the same regulator and it STACKS 15.89 Hades, Barracudas and NSA/H&N 17.5-21 gr slugs at 50 yards. Yes the factory reg let me down after about 1500 shots. Yes I picked up a Huma Air Tuning reg. Found out after that the poppet o-ring was dry rotted and literally fell apart when I inspected it AFTER replacing it. ES and SD is now
It was your videos that got me wondering why I couldnt get a Hatsan Vortex to settle accuracy wise. Tried numerous pellets. And it came down to pellet quality and weight. Can now get a 3/4" group at 30m...good enough for rats!
Amazing rate of accu ! ThanX for showing. Yep, the air rifles have been getting a lot more accurate for the last few years, so much so I've almost stopped using my accurate Aspen and bought an Avenger.
I have been a subscriber and viewer for a long time. I am am FX Impact fan. I don't own any PCP's though I want my Impact, sell8ng the wife on it now that I'm retired is next to impossible. I want it for hunting. I'm a Marine vet, so ACCURACY is king. I may just be able to get this past the boss! Thanks Ted!!
I have a spring action GAMO Swarm 22 rifle and I really like it and don’t have to worry about having an air compressor and it shoots between 800 ft./s to 1000 ft./s. Depending on what kind of pellet I use. The gun was a lot less expensive than I thought but buying magazines was interesting and they are spring rotary magazines. Really nice similar to what you were shooting. Not all metal but they still work. Excellent thanks for sharing your video. It is interesting.
I just picked this up and ran 60 rounds through it so far, I noticed dramatic velocity drop around shot 50 but the first 40 plus at 50 yards were super accurate once I got the scope adjusted in
You got me into it years ago, I have the FX Impact in .25 with a .177 barrel also… I believe they now have Impact M3 which is 3 generations ahead of mine now.
Love watching pellet gun videos. I have a couple springers that are really fun and cheap to plink with at short distances. But for pest control I have a hard time grabbing a PCP over a .22 with tame ammo and a suppressor.
Ted that was a amazing video - helping us rookies out. Hey do a budget bull pup for us poor folk hobbiest . i’m saving for your pantera hunter compact. like the truck gun sizes .
With my JTS Airacuda Max, I can hit a 2-inch target at 130 yards, and I can get a 1-inch group at 100 yards. With jsb 18.13 grain jumbos. At 50 yards I got a half inch group.
Great video! I have had one for a year now. At first wasn’t impressed because it was slinging pellets everywhere. The barrel was not centered properly and there’s clamping marks on the barrel from the factory trying to straighten it out. I have pulled it off and repositioned it and have gotten it to shoot pretty decent now. I tried contacting JTS when I first got and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Looks like you got a good one.
My dad bought an FX air rifle about 10 years ago. It's still in the box. We could never figure out the best way to fill the air reservoir. I hear so many mixed reviews about the oilless air compressors and the moisture that it will cause to build up in the gun and ruin the gun. I don't know which one to get. They made it legal to hunt deer with the 30 caliber PCP a few years ago and have really been wanting to buy an air gun to do that.
I got seriously sick years ago. I was bed ridden for a long time. Bored out of my brain, I decided to watch some UA-cam videos. I found your channel. You helped me through a bad time. Thank you!

You are 💯 % right I love the JTS and I owned almost everything.
You had me on the Benjamin Discovery however many years ago. I still have it and the floor pump is still working like a champ. I am not doing invasive species lethal removal like I used to. This area supports healthy native species.
Sure miss the videos, Ted! You are arguably one of the best youtubers ever! Keep them coming!!!
Nice to see you back missed watching your videos.
Hmm cant wait to see this. Thanks ted! I had a kral that can almost outshoot my wildcat.
You finally remembered you had a UA-cam channel. Welcome back my childhood UA-camr!!(:
I just wanted to get into Thai hobby but seeing this is a must have. Shooting so many fun pellets with just 1 gun is insane
Ted where you been. Love your content. Your the best guy to review everything air powered. Honest reviews
I've been sold thanks those are awesome. Keep making videos man you do a great job.
Nice video Ted. Good to see content
Usually I would listen to your expert advice Ted.. but I know that this Airacuda as fine a PCP as it is.. still does NOT beat the Air Venturi Avenger in performance or price!
Air Venturi Avenger is still the King of the Budget PCP's!
Explain, plz. This is cheaper than the Avenger. I have no PCPs. I hear the Avenger has seal probs.
A legend is back!!
I still had to watch this. Even though I have a few fx guns. Good stuff. I was sold a long time a go 14 years.
With the position of that power adjuster I'd suspect its actually a rotating transfer port adjustment like the air arms has.
These feel like a bull barrel rimfire and have similar accuracy.
always great to see a video from the man the myth super Ted!!
great review and nice to know this is a good gun by your standards.
Nice to see you again mate, still so enthusiastic about the guns you review.
just ordered your budget setup. hope hope hoping I will be able to hit these godawful starlings that are driving me nuts every single day!! thanks for a great video and happy holidays!
ES and SD is now
So happy to get another vid from you man.
First video from you. I like how natural and happy you come across. Subscribed. 👍🏼
I recently got in to this hobby. I bought the Benjamin Maurer .22 cal. I also bought a compressor. It’s a lot of fun.
I forgot to mention this. I also got a Burris fullfield E1, and a CVlife bipod.
Always have time to listen to your point of view, never needed the glamour, but I love that cammo!
You taught me everything I will ever need to know about pellet drop and I will be forever grateful 🙏🙌🏻
I’m torn between the origin, avenger, flash, and now this one!!! This will be my first pcp and I think you’ve convinced me.
I have it in 22 cal and it's great!
Love the simple lines and classic design. Very appealing for me anyways.. and then the performance and price, ya buddy
I just got mine and so far love it! I have had to adjust my trigger because from the factory it would fire while trying to decock it.
I just picked this up and ran 60 rounds through it so far, I noticed dramatic velocity drop around shot 50 but the first 40 plus at 50 yards were super accurate once I got the scope adjusted in
Good to see you back again
Please do a review on the FX DRS Classic 500. An "affordable" FX airgun.
Love your last statement “get me a rock” LOL!!!!!!!!
Great to see Ted again, always great product info and entertaining.
3000psi with a hand pump is a work out for us little guys especially now that im old.
True but we can compensate with better pumps, apparently the more stages the pump has the easier it is to use and a 4 stage is only $150 now.
Oh yea I hand pumped my Jts for a bit cause my compressor failed and holy crap it’s a work out
Ted that was a amazing video - helping us rookies out.
Great, review Ted!
Honest, and to the point!
Very, informative!
Right, on sir!
Just one word Ted. BRILLIANT!
What Ted's back! Got to watch.
Glad to see you again. This is a great time to get into pcp for sure.
Brilliant video , thanks. Probably the gun I would have bought many years ago to get into this hobby .
Ted's the pcp man. Thanks buddy!
Great review - this friend on the sideline may have just convinced the coach to put him in!
Great to have you back🇺🇸👍🏻👏🏻✅⭐️
Awesome content Ted!
