Nice to see such an advanced person in our hobby still appreciate the little things . You and Matt are the number 1's in the industry, and neither of you have become pompous. Take care, Ted. Your knowledge has forever shaped my passion
Maybe 10 years ago I watched some of your freedive spear fishing videos and it became a life goal of mine to do it too. I finally got to do it. I moved to Florida, there is a 19th century battleship that was scuttled close off shore 100 years ago in 30ft of water. So amazing, and more tasty fish than you can imagine. Thanks for posting those videos, it's now my favorite hobby.
Got mine, got to fire 7 rounds. Let my 7 year old son also named Levi try it. 2 refills and about 60 rounds later I got to shoot it again. Ordered him one that day. Best $250 I've spent in a LONG time. Have our own little 10-60 yard multi target range off the back deck and best father son time EVER.
What I really like about mine is that it shoots the cheapo Crossman Hollowpoints into a dime at 30 yards, $7 from walmart. Super afforsable air rifle and ammo.
Thanks for the visit. Long time no see. glad your well. Yeah...the Notos is a great deal straight out of the box AND it LOVES Crosman HP cheap ass walmart pellets!!! What is not to like for 235$. I love it and so do the grandkids.
i am now enjoying my Notos thanks to this video. Love it. NSA 23 grain .217 in hand. high pressure electric pump arrived yesterday. cant wait for the JTS scope to get here lol... Everything this man says just makes sense. The rifle is everything he said it is. Super light. Flickable. Lots of aftermarket parts already in place. Best air rifle money I've spent. More fun than a firearm. Quiet. Magnets.
Nice to see these latest reviews. Including the kids makes them fun. More relatable for us common folk, low budget, family types. Always good to see a Ted's Holdover video pop up.
I bought one a few months back at a gun show and it’s AMAZING! I live the left handed cocking action because I’m actually a left handed shooter! I’d recommend this air gun to anyone and everyone
ThanX for the interesting review. I try to rail against the safety levers inside the the trigger guard at every opportunity, but the type on this great gun is, er, plenty safe. It's an old style and doesn't endanger the shooter to push the wrong thing. Thanks again for the online class.
I got an OG gauntlet in .25 last year, and then picked up a notos earlier this year, and I am impressed beyond belief with what these guns can do. I'm under a thousand dollars for both rigs and continue to surprise myself with the shots i can pull off with them.
I bought one just because about a year ago. At the shop was shooting 15.89 JSB at 50 yards. Less than inch group. Hitting 3" steel at 50 center almost every shot. Amazing for the price.
My Notos almost made it to my sell list. 15.5 fpe was a bit low for what I need it for. Now I got it to around 19 fpe. I am in love with it again. Adjusted the regulator. I think the raccoons are going to love this.
Well i did it broke down and bought one couldnt get the ted edition so i settled for the normal package and went straight to Nielson and ordered 2 boxes and dont regret it a bit came in yesterday sighted in today and 40 yards holding dead on consistently. Thanks for the review dude
Umarex ain’t big over here in the UK but looks like a tidy bit of kit. Excellent as always been watching everything you’ve done from the start. So glad you’re still reviewing and still the standard against all others are judged. Like hearing from an old friend 😂LOL Awesome.
Good to see you making videos again. I hope the new digs will allow you to make more videos. I share your anti-city feelings. Hope you enjoy the country life.
Nice review thank you. I won’t buy another pcp without getting the 24 hour air pressure test. Had to send my first Marauder back because it leaked out of the box.😡
Here it is. I hope you hear it. Draft Ultimate #2 [Do you feel it? The sense of camaraderie in Field Target? The way this sport brings people together-whether you’re a seasoned shooter or just starting. It’s not just about hitting targets; it’s about the people you meet, the friends you make, and the support you give one another. But I know some of you have concerns, and I want to discuss them. Have you ever heard-or maybe even said yourself-things like: "I’m not buying a .177 just to shoot one match." "It feels like this sport is becoming an equipment race." "Why does Field Target feel more exclusive than inclusive lately?" "Where’s the family-friendly promotion, the marketing that builds community?" "Where do you see air gunning in 10 or 15 years? Do you think there is any role you play in its growth and future?" These are real concerns and essential questions for our community. Because of these concerns, we’re taking a new approach to Field Target. The goal is simple: to grow this sport, air gunning, and, more importantly, the sense of community around it. [Building the Community] Here at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club, we’ve always been focused on more than just the competition. We want to foster a community where every shooter feels welcome. That’s why we’re adding Short Range Ultimate Field Target alongside Long Range Ultimate Field Target. By shooting both formats at the same time, we’re bridging the gap. This allows shooters from different disciplines to experience both formats, to come together, and to learn from each other. What makes airgun shooting, including Field Target, truly special is how it brings people together. It’s a sport where parents, kids, and friends can all participate, spend quality time, and create lasting memories. The time spent here isn’t just important-it’s family time. And, as we shoot and grow together, we all become one big family. I’ve seen .22 rimfire shooters compete alongside airguns in Long Range Ultimate Field Target, and a few have been impressed by the accuracy and the significantly lower ammo cost. Some of them even made the switch to airguns after discovering their potential. And I believe we can grow our participation, moving from an average of 18 shooters to 30 or more, by expanding our options and allowing everyone to enjoy what this sport has to offer. [Making Field Target Accessible] We want to discourage the sport from being driven by expensive accessories. To level the playing field, we’re giving the distances and allowing range finders to help shooters focus on what really matters-marksmanship. This is a shooting competition, not a vision competition. It’s about hitting your target, not just relying on expensive gear. Additionally, the affordable light-duty targets currently available on the market can be easily and affordably reinforced to hold up to 50 foot-pounds. Any club or individuals who want advice or help with reinforcing targets can reach out to Ben Spencer or Greg Shirhall, and we’ll do our best to make the changes as easy and affordable as possible. [Rules for Ultimate Field Target] Now, let’s talk about the rules for the 50 ft-lb Short Range Ultimate Field Target class, where the focus is precision, skill, and marksmanship. This isn’t just about the power of your rifle or the gear you bring to the table-this is about being a marksman. Here’s how the rules reflect that commitment to skill: You’ll be able to use up to 50 foot-pounds of energy, with the freedom to shoot any caliber you prefer. Whether you’re using slugs or pellets, the goal is to harness your skill and knowledge of ballistics to hit those targets consistently. Each lane presents a new challenge, with three targets at varying distances-near, middle, and far. For Short Range Ultimate Field Target, you’ll be shooting from 15 to 55 yards, aiming at the near light-duty target and the middle heavy-duty target, where distances are given to you. For Long Range Ultimate Field Target, you’ll shoot from 25 to 100 yards, focusing on the middle and far heavy-duty targets. But remember, it’s not just about knowing the range-it’s about understanding your rifle and how to adjust for every shot. The targets used in Ultimate Field Target will be knockdown types, with either pull-to-reset or shoot-to-reset functionality. Spinners, gongs, and KYLs are more suited for extreme long-range events or arcade-style shooting. Field Target simulates a hunting environment, where knocking down a target represents a successful shot. You’ll have the flexibility to click or hold over, and we allow the use of rangefinders. But no matter the tools, at the end of the day, your ability to read the wind, calculate drop, and make precise adjustments will set you apart as a true marksman. Every shooter has a 4-minute time limit per lane, and while that might sound like plenty of time, true marksmanship requires focus and composure under pressure. Great shooters don’t just make the shot-they make it count, even when the clock is ticking. To keep things balanced, scope power is limited to 25x. While some may rely on high magnification, great marksmen know it’s about technique, not just seeing the target. Your scope must be set to 25x or the closest mark-not exceeding that-putting your skill in the spotlight. Everyone will shoot from a bucket or stool-type seat and use a bipod for support. This ensures that every shooter, regardless of their setup, competes on a level playing field. The format is designed to test your marksmanship, not just your equipment. The total weight of the complete shooting package-rifle, scope, and all accessories-is limited to 16 lbs. We’ve adjusted the target difficulty to match a typical Troyer scale of 40 for the Short Range Ultimate Field Target version. This ensures that while the format is accessible, the challenge remains at a level that tests your precision and marksmanship. No shooting jackets are allowed. Knee risers may not extend more than 6 inches from the base to the center of the barrel, and butt hooks must not extend more than 1 inch or be angled more than 5 degrees from the top vertical line of the butt pad. 11. For those seeking the ultimate skill test, the "FULL MONTY" allows you to take on all three targets per lane, firing six shots within the same 4-minute time limit. ONLY rifles of 50-foot pounds or less are permitted to participate in the "FULL MONTY.” This option offers a chance to push your marksmanship to the limit truly. There will be ongoing evaluations to change or eliminate any rule or add classes by a vote of all participating shooters. Additionally, we’ll welcome outsider opinions during any rule change vote discussion. [Encouraging the Community] As we look to grow Field Target and air gunning as a whole, I want to take a moment to reach out to other Field Target groups, clubs, and shooting ranges. The Ultimate Field Target format we’ve developed at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club isn’t just about what works for us-it’s about creating something that can be tailored to fit your range, your community, and your shooters. If your range doesn’t allow .22 rimfire for Long Range Ultimate Field Target, or if you don’t have heavy-duty targets rated for 100 foot-pounds, don’t let that stop you. The beauty of this format is its flexibility. You can shoot slugs, pellets, or whatever your range allows. You don’t need to have every piece in place for Long Range Ultimate Field Target to start hosting events. [Final Thoughts] What matters is getting shooters involved-bringing families and friends together, showcasing the fun, the skill, and the sense of community that airgun shooting offers. Whether you start with Short Range Ultimate Field Target or adapt the Ultimate style to suit your range, you’ll be part of something bigger. Airgun shooting, from Field Target to other disciplines, is the ultimate family sport. It’s about spending important family time together, creating memories, and building something greater. And as we come together, we all become one big family. We believe that by making it accessible to everyone, in every place, we can help this sport grow. So, if you’re thinking about trying something new, if you want to bring in more participants, or if you simply want to see what’s possible-give the Ultimate Field Target a try. Host what you can, where you can, and watch your community thrive. Let’s grow this sport and airgunning, not just in numbers, but in spirit. Let’s build a stronger community, where skill and camaraderie matter more than the price tag on your gear. Together, we can take airgunning to new heights. Thank you for being a part of this, and I can’t wait to see how we grow, together.
Awesome video, as always! But the bipod clamped at the end of the rail puts enormous upward force on the rail and the shroud when in shooting position, and even more so if the legs are angled forward of 90 degrees. (And this stress is transmitted to the, in essence free floating barrel) As the rail and shroud are not really heavy duty at all, the result of the force is that the barrel is flexed upwards during use, and the POI shifts massively up! The setup is useable however if you clamp the bipod at the very aft portion of the rail, just forward of the magazine. Here the rail is still connected to and right above the action, and so there is no stress on the shroud and free floating barrel. Also the kurled knobs of the Sportsmatch mounts are too big, (meaning: they extend too far sideways out from the clamp) and mar the bipod if the leg is collapsed toward the knobs, (ask me how I know…) so with this setup you can only collapse the leg away from the knobs. To prevent this, instead of the Sportsmatch adapters I used a -plastic-(!) QD Autolock Quick Release Mount and screwed a 3D printed dovetail on top of that. An alternative would be to devise some sort of clamp around the rail and the airtube, so the flex would be canceled out by the tube.
Man I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your content! Have you noticed any poi shifts in yours? Every pcp I’ve owned has had a new poi every time I picked it up. I’ll put pellets in the same hole all day but the poi is never where I left it
Bought a Notos for my wife last winter. Hoping to bag some grouse here in northern Minnesota this season. A very nice light package. I put a Sig Romeo 5 dot sight on it. It likes JSB Hades a lot.👍
I remember watching this guy when I was 10, he inspired me to get into hunting. I’m 24 now and am a avid hunter crazy how someone on UA-cam can have such a big impact on your life and they have no idea you exist 😂🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for the video Ted and the gun recommendation. My boy outgrew his Daisy Red Ryder in about 3 minutes! Im not letting at my Cricket .25 just yet so ive been letting him use my old Gamo Bullwhisper .177 (which doesn't whisper in the least) and he's good with it but its heavy and a bit awkward in length for him so the Notos looks to be just the ticket!
I absolutely love my NOTOS and I have many high end PCP''s. Personally I feel like Umarex went in the wrong direction with the Zelos but to each their own.
The Zelos is the Snowpeak M60 , just like the Notos is the Artimis Snowpeak PP750 . Magazines are not great , you can't choose your own silencer unless you break it off and modify it . I get it they are light plastic and cheap . Like the Crosman 1377& 1322 many parts are available which makes a cheap gun cost much more . Great for kids.
Hi Ted: You can put something right in front of a large portion of the lens and still see the target, but the brightness will be lower. What you place next to the lens is so out of focus you wont notice until it is blocking almost all the light, at which point you don't see much at all.
Yeah, the Notos gets mostly good reviews. An accurate, regulated pcp with hammer spring adjust, for around $270. Beats my Marauder pistol which cost a deal more. I moved from central Fl to north Fl, and the atmosphere is more relaxed. Tks for the video.
Great Video Ted as always! Great to see you! I love my Notos!!! I added a plenum and a custom trigger. It is my go-to Iguana airgun!!! I have a 5x24 Immersive optic on mine.
How on earth do you look younger aster all these years! So glad to see you making videos with your kids involved Watch the interest on Notos's skyrocket beacause of your feedback
Nice gun and that price point will get lots of people into the sport. I guess now a cheap reliable battery powered pump is the next thing the industry needs.
It’s great to see Umarex’s evolution. The Gauntlet was a good rifle, but it was HUGE and awkward to carry. The Notos reminds me of a Dreamline for a much lower price point.
I have a design and CNC machined Notos 21 shot SideWinder magazine that handles polymag shorts or regular pellets up to 16 grain. The Notos like the Pmag shorts and does great around the yard for dun, dun, dun! STARLINGS!!! How I love to shot them. Let me count the ways... SideWinder mags are cool a larger carousel sets off to the side and passes the projectiles to a small carousel that fits under a scope. Sort of a drum magazine I suppose. Always good to see you are still alive and kickin and that the guy that got me into airguns is still into airguns. Take care.
Great video ted and I love my Notos it is super accurate and just a great fun PCP to own and shoot. It is great for takinng out pest as well. The Hatsan Jet sucks I own the jet 2 and the accuracy sucks it is super loud and even thoug it is well built it is only really accurate out to 15yds which is crap in my opinion. The Notos is a big winner in my book I hope to pick up a second one in the future.
I had one it was okay it was okay up to about 30 to 50 yards I did not like the lever I'm a lefty so I'd have to take my hand off the grip every time to caulk it and it's so recessed in there I have to try to jam my finger into the gun to get it behind it to load a pellet
Been watching you for years buddy, not even interested in this rifle, but love watching your vids! If you are ever in NZ let me know, i have some spots!
The Jett 2 stock does slide forward and back. The big plus on the Jet, is if you put a Sumo moderator it's way quieter for around the house shooting than the non detachable moderator on the Notos. No problem with Jett magazines either, I own both.
Ted wow great video I've never seen so many responses to the comments in my whole life. A quick question for you. Benjamin p-rod versus the nodos . I used to watch you when you did a video on the p-rod I can appreciate the fact that one is regulated and one is not, the question is has anyone ever put a regulator in a p-rod let me know what you think friend. Great to see that smiling face. Shoot straight stay safe
The trigger is adjustable, I adjusted mine yesterday ( turn screw in until it bottoms and 3 turns out) now its fantastic, it went from 4 lbs to just breath on it and she fires.
Yes, I live out here now. I miss the city like I miss explosive hemorrhoids.
Why do you miss explosive hemorrhoids?
jk :).. Thanks for the video
Hahaha! Well said sir, well said 🤣😂
Hemorrhoids explain the gratuitous manspreading of this review.
Its explosive diarrhea, and I think more people have questions about the hair than where you live lol.

You don’t need to have every piece in place for Long Range Ultimate Field Target to start hosting events.
[Final Thoughts]
What matters is getting shooters involved-bringing families and friends together, showcasing the fun, the skill, and the sense of community that airgun shooting offers.
Ted looking like he's ready to take on Neegan and the Governor at the same time.
I’ll put pellets in the same hole all day but the poi is never where I left it
Ted, you’re a legend and I love your videos.
Now I understand my hairdresser saying she noticed I dyed my hair black as soon as I walked through the door. Ted went jet black haha
He went Steven Segal 🤣
As a barber.. we know!
It looks horrible IMO!
@@JayWC3333 bad enough you wouldn’t want to see that in a dark alley but hey we still luv Ted
@@FYMM69 I agree with the last part!
Thanks for doing all the work
been watching you for 13 years!
Bought a Notos for my wife last winter. Hoping to bag some grouse here in northern Minnesota this season. A very nice light package. I put a Sig Romeo 5 dot sight on it. It likes JSB Hades a lot.👍
Ted went full Teodoro, el Guapo!
Very cool. I've been wanting to get one for my grandson but haven't yet don't know why but I guess I should.
I remember watching this guy when I was 10, he inspired me to get into hunting.
I’m 24 now and am a avid hunter crazy how someone on UA-cam can have such a big impact on your life and they have no idea you exist 😂🤷🏼♂️
Good video dude! I can tell you were in the perfect head space to hit record
Your back, brilliant
Hi Ted: You can put something right in front of a large portion of the lens and still see the target, but the brightness will be lower. What you place next to the lens is so out of focus you wont notice until it is blocking almost all the light, at which point you don't see much at all.
OMG Ted is back. YAY!
Yeah, the Notos gets mostly good reviews. An accurate, regulated pcp with hammer spring adjust, for around $270. Beats my Marauder pistol which cost a deal more. I moved from central Fl to north Fl, and the atmosphere is more relaxed. Tks for the video.
Used to live in Appleton a very long time ago. Great hunting out there! Sweet video and thank you!
I love the angle , " it's for the grandkids " 😎
just updated my Christmas wish list, thank you Ted!
Been a while!! Welcome back !! New Look ?? Same great videos !! Time to come for a hunt in South Africa !!
Great Video Ted as always! Great to see you! I love my Notos!!! I added a plenum and a custom trigger. It is my go-to Iguana airgun!!! I have a 5x24 Immersive optic on mine.
By the way, fun fact, those Blue Jays (?) they are Wasp Terminators. They go for those Mud and Paper nests like crazy.
How on earth do you look younger aster all these years!
So glad to see you making videos with your kids involved
Watch the interest on Notos's skyrocket beacause of your feedback
Absolutely! Great points Ted! I agree great for all size shooters.
Nice hair. Christian Bale is now an Airgunner.
Great video Ted, love the little rifle.
Very nice you are making new videos Please keep them coming .
Great videos always
Hi Ted nice to see u again
I was beginning to wonder whether or not you were still alive and taking nourishment. Thanks for the review of an affordable option.
miss you Ted
you're my first air rifle influencer..
Thank you for what you do !!!
I love all of it …
I’m watching the poi while listening to the commentary
Long time viewer
Been watching you for years buddy, not even interested in this rifle, but love watching your vids!
If you are ever in NZ let me know, i have some spots!
ted posted another video love your videos cant get enough of them
I love my Notos !
You were first one with a pcp where have you disappeared???
I personaly missed you very much
The Jett 2 stock does slide forward and back. The big plus on the Jet, is if you put a Sumo moderator it's way quieter for around the house shooting than the non detachable moderator on the Notos. No problem with Jett magazines either, I own both.
Damn dude I thought that was a wig in the thumbnail
I have the same gun shoots very well like your video can it shoot slugs if so what kind looks like you were shooting slugs 22cal
I’ve got a friend from a 3d printing company called bravo 3d and he makes awesome hand guards for the notos and they are sturdy
Teds become a pirate !
Bloody hell are you the same person !!!
Cheers ted 👍
Adjustable trigger would be nice. You can adjust the hammer spring for more power with heavy lead slugs.🤠🇺🇸
The trigger is adjustable, I adjusted mine yesterday ( turn screw in until it bottoms and 3 turns out) now its fantastic, it went from 4 lbs to just breath on it and she fires.
@@samdrucker-k9w
I will try it.
Thanks.🤠🇺🇸
Adjustment have their limits .
For smoother action, grind away the sharp end of the trigger grub screw.
i want to see some sparrow wacking ,or some starling smashing
same
Ditto
I bought the notos and I love it soooo much
I love the videos and I get why you aren't into the airforce airguns but I would love to see Ted spend some time with a Condor.
The thumbnail had me thinking it was Rick Rimes! Love the hair Ted!
Looks like a great little gun 🔫
Great to see a new video, pity the gun isn't available in the UK.
Excellent review
hey.. i'll try slugs now. awesome. ty
A Ted video!!! Yes
Ted's addy adventures!😂 Go go go
I thought the white sunglasses couldn't be topped but no, you went and got this hair do. Lol
Bro is looking like Tom Wilkinson from the Full Monty 😃
