I recently got it and got a reminder of vampire lore. Freaking garlic on villages WILL debuff you where jim bob the intern can one shot you at 100% garlic stacks. Jim can't even read and he took down a Vampire lord.
Then i picked up some silver coins, which immediately started burning a hole in my pocket. Right, silver kills me.
Also unrelated, but holy resistance potionis made with sunflowers. I just thought that was hilarous.
Great arpg with crafting and building. I see they addressed castle floor limitations and so much more, returning to V Rising asap.
A fun game but always felt held back by their desire to make it a pvp centric title, at one point the devs even asked folk to play that mode because the metrics were so low.
But having said that I've yet to dip into 1.0 and they did adjust the solo options so a running server wasn't required for the minion gathering missions to tick down while the game was off.
Honestly, I think the game could have been equally suited to both solo and multi-player, and the game would have made a good foundation for a smaller scale MMORPG
I haven't played PVP at all and have still thoroughly enjoyed this game

definitely a nice game, buuut it has too many tiers, too much grind, too many levels and too many craftin benches (and at least when I played iI hated having ti scavange the items to keep in my inventory to craft, there are games who do this better)
Try Beatrice on brutal...you'd be in for a surprise.

If anyone is searching for comments to further inform your purchase decision. V Rising is worth the money. I put 100s of hours in the early access... and legitimately forgot it wasn't even the full release. Its the most polished early access i have ever played. So I know the full launch can only be even better.
Played through this entire game duo with my brother. Combat was way too difficult. I don't mind a difficult game, but there wasn't a sense of accomplishment when finally defeating a boss, it was just a sense of "oh god, finally, I can't wait until this game is over" and to top it all off, all the good stuff you get at the very very end of the game. Want to be a bat and fly around like a real vampire? Well, you gotta wait until you beat 99% of the game. The game is just exhausting. I beat it, but I will never play it again.
Well...if you have a few hours to spare you can wear down the bat form boss very early surprised when we run into the boss and he looked cool. Would never do it if I didn't check wiki for the drop. The combat in the game wasn't fun for me at all.
Next time I play I'll be a house husband and manage the base and farming materials loved everything except combat.

The main thing this game is lacking for me is PVE invasions where mobs of angry villangers assault your castles so that you have more purpose and depth in building them.
At least as an option in the server settings.

Can someone explain to me what actually Survival means anymore? This Game absolutely Looks like a sandbox ARPG. For me, a survival game forces you at least
to Drink or to eat. The playable area is limited even If It is a Big map. And one thing Just doesn't fit: too much predefined Storyline. A Survival Game should Provide more individuality. All that doesn't mean, that I dont like the Game. Looks awesome. Contents are top tier. Plays even better. But It IS more a Larian RPG like Divinity or Diablo than a Survival Game like Minecraft, grounded, Ark or Green hell. I think using the Term Survival is Like clickbait, because It is popular
To answer your question... Resident Evil is a Survival (horror) game. The Sims is not. So your assumption that Survival needs, at least, an eat and drink mechanic is not accurate. Survival in video games simply means limited resources, that need to be managed, against superior numbers and/or tough challenges (for example, finding your way through a poisonous swamp, with only one antidote and two health potions).
But I agree, the term has been used a bit too much. It's kind of like the term ''RPG'' which, to this day, people still use to describe anything that has a levelling system. All it takes is for a few ignorant people to write an article, or make a video, saying those words, and all of a sudden thousands of fans take it as fact, and spread it around.

played this at the EA on a PVP server, most fun i had in this type of genre. so much to do: make an alliance, call a golem to storm someones castle or just lure some player and wall them off at your base to keep them as a pet

Oh wow it's actually out of Early Access! I thought it would remain locked in there for all eternity, trapped in a coffin of their own perfectionism for all eternity. Thank you for the quick overview, Mitch, I'll have to go get it now that it's actually complete! And also, screw you for calling the combat in the vein of Smash TV. Now I keep hearing "BIG MONEY, BIG PRIZES, I LOVE IT!" in my head over and over.
Now I know why my friends were talking about this game. Honestly didn't know it played like this. I could see this being a really fun time especially with a community server 😄

After watching this, I want to play the game. But also, I think you’d enjoy the Fred the Vampire Accountant series by Drew Hayes. Especially the audiobooks read by Kirby Heyborne. It sounds like the game developers borrowed some of Hayes’ ideas about vampires.

I ignored this game forever because I thought it was just Diablo with vampires, but this actually looks really cool. The pvp element is a huge seller for me. Another new game to play, yayyyy!
