I'm over 100 hours into DQ11S deep into the post game and for only my second Dragon Quest game I am surprised at how much I love DQ11S this is a top tier game on Switch and the best Switch port
I hope this sells well in the west!

The Dragon Quest games are so excellent and it is a darn shame the U.S. sales numbers don't show that. I'm so tired of having to beg for Dragon Quest games in the States. People need to go buy this.
Seeing how well Nintendo treats dragon quest I wouldn’t be to worried
I really want to see the sales number for this after the HUGE marketing push Nintendo did for this game. Someone at Nintendo must really love Dragon Quest since they've been pushing it for over 30 years in the West, even if it was due to an overstock of games.
Fantastic review. I’m about to start this today and I’m super stoked to play.
Honestly, the portability aspect cannot be understated - I love being able to pull my switch out in my down time and just play to grind a few levels or hunt down items, and if I get interuptted, its no big deal to put the switch to sleep and put it away.
You're right in that it's slow to get invested in. I would play just a little bit at a time but I pushed myself and I can't stop playing. If playtime is anything to go by I should be around the same place as you, if Naughty Stuck means anything to you. Great game, great Dragon Quest, great Rpg. If anyone loves JRPG's this is a must play.
So far (40+ hours in) it's one of the best rpgs I have ever played.
I love the dragon quest series now, I even played dragon quest builders

Really loving it. It was was my favorite game last year, and the Switch version improves upon the game in so many ways and adds a TON of content.
My ONE quibble with the Switch version compared to all other versions (including the 3DS version) is the placement of the new story content. The new stories themselves are fine, they're charming and reveal more about the characters and the world, but the placement of these stories is a little jarring, especially if you've played other versions of the game.
I won't spoil it, but I hope they patch in an option to let you either play these stories later on or just let you skip them entirely. They throw off the pacing of the game, I feel.
But that's literally it. Pretty much every other change/addition makes the game so much better. The 2D content, the added voice acting during battles, the quality of life changes... it's all perfect! The only thing that's been removed is the bowgun mini-game, which frankly I didn't really like that much as it requires you to explore every square inch of the map and constantly look at all your surroundings to find targets. It wasn't fun, it was tedious and frustrating. I only managed to complete one region on the PS4 version and even then I had to cheat and look up the final target that I'd missed. Not really missing its absence in the Switch version.
Dragon quest 11 has become one of my favourite games ever and made me a dragon quest fan
Playing the demo made me think this was an RPG I might actually have time for. As you mentioned the sped up battle systems help a ton.
This game is one of the very best Switch games!
Easily one of the top 10 Switch games, and very high in that list!

I'm loving Dragon Quest XI S!! I'm 100 hours in and enjoying the adventure. All the quality of life stuff you mentioned makes the game so accessible and comfortable to play the game wherever you want.

This is one of my favourite games of the last few years. I loved it and it was a joy to play from start to finish. I did the 60 hours to complete the main quest but will definitely come back for the post game stuff and to replay in 2D. So much content, beautiful graphics, amazing soundtrack, great characters and engaging story. Not even a huge dragon quest fan but its just a great game.

No offense to Witvher 3 but with all the added features in DQ11, I think it's the better game. Although that's all subjective.

Great non-review review man!!! I played the demo about four hours and loved it. The game is just so charming and fun. Purchasing DQ XI was a no brainer for me.
This is a hella good game. About 20 hrs in and it's REALLY picked up in the story and unlocking new spells really opens up complexity in the combat. Pep power system is dope, characters have WAY more heart and much more relatable than I originally thought from looking at the art style. I love playing this game for a couple hours after work and school.
I saved myself to play this on the Switch, and so glad I did. I’m about 60 hours in and I think it’s one of the best games ever made.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, but this comes super close.

9.5 sounds about right. Surprised how much this game sunk its hooks into me. I loved DQ8, but this is a top 5 JRPG for me. Being able to play it during my commute just sweetens the deal

I bought this, wasn't sure how I would take to it, due to the turn based battles, a lot I bore of half way through, but the only reason I put the game down was because Witcher 3, dqxi is awesome

I love Dragon Quest XI S. I'm 60 hours in, starting the post game now. The story is so dang immersive. The world really draws you in despite having loading screens between areas unlike in botw. I hope that Dragon Quest 12 will be ported to switch.

DQ11 is a must own no two ways about it, the Switch version is the Definitive version too get but if you are on the fence tho guys, choosing whether too go for the phenomenal DQ11 or the absolutely sensational Witcher 3, i say download the Demo of DQ11 that is 10hrs or so of Gameplay and buy the Witcher 3.

Got it downloading currently, figured I'd check your video out to get me excited. Dude I don't get psyched over cartoony games usually, the last one was Spyro lol. A little Zelda now and then. But this looks f#$%>&g amazing. I'm just staring at download progress. I'm a 25 yr old man. What's wrong with me
90 hours in... the more you play the better it gets. Also important but playing on stronger monster activated(hard) is mendatory! The game is just basically a JRPG that does everything a JRPG is supposed to do

Different Same I definitely liked it better than 3 Houses. I’ve tried other Dragon Quest games before and just wasn’t feeling it. DQ XI has made me want to go back and give all of the others another try.

Definitely, but FE3H is still good.
Very different games. Dragon Quest is a very traditional JRPG when FE is a more tactical/strategic RPG with it's most evolved combat.
I love them both so very mach, 2 of my all time favorite franchises
clintbrew I have it on ps2. Planning to pick it up on 3DS next time I see it. Played it way back when it came out.
This game looks solid to play and all, but a few issues I have with Dragon Quest series and pretty much what keeps me from loving it as much as I love Final Fantasy is:
A: There's only a few entries that I actually find interesting (5, 7, 8, and 11) in comparison to the Final Fantasy series.
B: The series can be a little too old fashioned for it's own good in terms of Story, Characters, and even gameplay.
C: The fanbase tend to use the series as a reason to to both scapegoat and discredit Final Fantasy beyond Final Fantasy 6, which I find kinda childish.
My switch is US region. Can I buy games that is from other region. Like Asian,MDE,EU? Does it matter?
You sure can! Switch is region free. Just make sure you buy a game that is mult-language if you need a certain language to read/hear
