- WhiskyJason reviews Glenmorangie Signet Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glenmorangie Signet was created with a vatting of whiskies produced from two types of malted barley: a single estate Cadboll variety and malted chocolate barley with very strong mocha aroma . It was bottled at 46% is non-chilled filtered and is a NAS whisky (no age statement) .
Very enjoyable review. The fact you don't like coffee, yet you gave a good analysis and break down of the signet..is much appreciated!! Cheers🥃
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like your shelves.
thanks!
Fantastic information Jason. Many thanks..!
it is a very interesting product
Loved your explanation of the toaster levels of malting. Here in the US, it's $199.99. I'm all in for this flavor profile. I'm not sure I want to spend that much. Loving the frequency and quality of the recent run of videos. Awesome!
thanks
Love the coffee and chocolate taste! Good Stuff!
If you say so :-)
I only ever had one dram of Glenmorangie Signet in a bar in Edinburgh and loved it! I probably would have another dram of it if I found myself in Edinburgh again some day...
maybe we will meet again Scotland who knows
@@WhiskyJason1 Indeed... Who knows?
I get that Mocha note that you speak of from the Amrut Fusion. I dont reject it as much as you do but I have to be in a particular mood for it (which isnt too often)
I just do not like mocha - sorry!
Its an amazing dram (if you enjoy the taste of coffee). Another similar bottle and overall flavor profile would be Westland American Single Malt.
really didn't like the Westland Single mslt either
Jameson stout is easy to drink and has a strong chocolate and coffee aroma to it. I have both the Signet and Jameson at home. Jameson as a cheap but good alternative to the Signet which I use for special occasions!
Interesting Signet for special occasions and Jameson stout for normal
Got a bottle years ago..I love coffee and chocolate. Hope it’s good.
enjoy
I like quality espresso every now and then also I like some coffee flavored deserts. I'm not a fan of coffee flavored liquor though. Given the above I just don't see myself paying the premium of 160 euro for a bottle of Signet NAS. I'd rather taste it at a bar or get a sample some day though.
As for other whisky produced using chokolate malt I can recall only Fettercairn 16 yo only. I haven't tasted it but you Jason have a review and even rated it solid B for taste😀
the chocolate malt in Fettercairn 16 was much less intensive
Very informative. Thanks for the explanation of the malts. I see Bushmills 16 behind you. Would you choose that over the 21? Slainte
I like the Bushmills 16 better than the 21 - but most people like the 21 better with the strong Madeira influence
I like the Signet but I wont buy a bottle because it's completely overpriced. Instead I'll by an average Spey like Glenfiddich 12 and drink that the same time as eating a bar of chocolate. A good way to save yourself £100. I had a sample of a Teeling aged in a ex-Guinness barrel which had coffee/mocha notes. In fact, it tasted more like Guinness than whisky so I didn't buy the full bottle.
Thanks Welsh Toro!
Glenfiddich 12 😂😂 bro donth drink whiksy if you donrh have money 😅glenfiddich 12 i didn't like that one i like the glenfiddich 18 because of his simple profile i know i donth need to buy it bud when the bottle is gone i see it on the shelfs sorry i am, a socker to buy again the glenfiddich 18 hahaha its the only bottle who i always replacing when its emtey 😅
