First worry, then relief. I thought of Alvi, but when you told the surgery was a success, I was very relieved. We even got to hear one of his rare meows! Lots of cuddles, and stick to drinking water, Cody 😅

Cody was a champion! Much more so than I was at the dentist 2 months ago. I nearly screamed, I almost had an out-of-body experience. If Hollywood remakes Marathon Man, I’m their boy for the Dustin Hoffman part. Viva Cody! 😺👍

Wise (and brave) decision . Dental hygiene is important. Teeth and gums left untreat can have serious implications,let alone they produce painful symptoms. . I'm happy for Cody 😁.. Extra hugs and cuddles for my sweet pumpkin gingerbread guy 💖💖💖. Cheers 😊

Did you use the same vet as Alvi's dental cleaning? That would make me nervous too! So glad all was good for Cody! I had two 10 yr old cats go for dental cleanings and I was nervous, too, for their age. One had four teeth removed and the other a whopping nine teeth removed!!! Just about 30 days now since their dental surgeries, and both are doing good - Amen!! 🙏 And I'm paying off this BIG dental bill on an 18 month plan! 😮 cha-chang 😮
Yes, we went to another vet... Fortunately there are many vets in the area we live. They are all not cheap, but not as extremely expensive as in the UK or US for instance.
No extractions? Well done King Cody! And eating so well is a good sign. Right as rain in no time. Glad the vet is so close - less trauma! Thanks for taking such good care of him. 😻😻😻 After losing Queen Bootz in February I finally adopted 2 little girls. ❤❤❤ Have to introduce them to Cody videos soon!

Yes, bringing Cody to the vet for surgery was far more difficult than I thought it would be. Experienced a few flashbacks from two years ago... But not doing anything about his teeth can't be an option. Have a lovely day!

This video shocked me first, as I missread he (and not Alvi) passed away. 😮 But it's quite a relief to see Cody is doing well! I was so sad when Alvi passed away, feelings came up, remembered my tomcat, also a ginger boy, he passed away by FIV in 2007.
The biggest disadvantage of being a cat owner is that part of saying goodbye. No matter what stage of life you are in, it will always hurt tremendously.

wow scary to go to the vet. It had to be done, he gets the best care, nice it's walking distance. extra loving and some tuna chunks, soon he'll be his old self again. 😻😻

Oh boy, when I saw a sentences with Cody and dental cleaning it did make me worry and immediately think of dear Alvi. So glad proceedure went ok, - Will Cody need teeth brushing at home? ❤❤Cody was a bit wobbly but I hope is feeling better now.
Cody has fully recovered in the meanwhile, anestethic just had to leave his body :) We give him special food for his teethe and will try to brush them if we get a chance.

The same thing awaits us with Emma. All these events that we had, plus unexpected expenses, delayed it a bit, but soon we will have to take her for dental cleaning! 👍👍

How did you notice he had dental problems?
Cody gets a yearly check at the vet, so that's how we noticed.
There are natural remedies that you can give to your cat to relieve gingivitis, such as Plaque off dental treats, Petwell Healthy Gums (a liquid you rub on the gums) and baci+ dental powder (mixed in wet food). Merri had a gum problem and now is totally fine. The teeth cleaning is overpriced and unnecessary in most cases, plus the obvious risk. I'd suggest everyone to try the natural remedies first.

So happy his visit to the vet was a positive one. Do you feed him human grade tuna from that tin? If it is please watch out for the salt content. As this could lead to kidney issues down the track. I have an 18 year old cat that now has hyperthyroidism and kidney issues. And too much salt is a real issue for cats. I'm glad things worked out well for Cody. 😻
What you say makes perfect sense, that's why we serve him tuna without salt and oil. We give him little snacks containing salt though, but not too often.

Don't worry, he is doing fine! No tooth needed to be removed but we have to keep an eye on it. Hopefully the special food he gets will help to keep his teeth in good condition. We'll pass on the hugs and kisses ;)

Hey, for Cody to keep his teath and gums Nice, dont give him catfood with sugar ore grains. They put that in most catfood, so its a whole jungle to find food without
Thank you! We already give him special food... Guess the major part of his dental problems was caused by the food he got from his previous owner. Now let's hope his teeth will remain healthy for a very long time!

I can recommend Royal Canin Dental Veterenary. The biscuits/ kibbles are big and have to be chewed wich helps clean especially the big teeth in the back, which are often the ones with most tartar. If it's not ok to name a specific brand just let me know and I will delete this comment. I hope Cody is ok again. It's awful, when they have to be sedated😢
Thanks for the tip! We already gave him special food (Hill's Prescription/Dental) because he already had a small tooth problem when we adopted him.

I,m away from home at the moment my cat hid under a chest of drawers needed help getting him out. The maddening thing is the person from what we call cattery put him in with ease.
