@Jenny clark some times that happens I've always been a 2 cat guy each time the new cat has hid my Oreo is the treat king all she wants is treats she showed up in my garage as my black cat cutlas was on his 23 rd year of life my other black cat Sara witch I got as a kitten is 12 I let Oreo in because she is a polydaktal.long hair must have main coon.she is gigantic. @Jenny clark Jenny I'm going to have to respectfully descent from your comment. I've had lots of new kitties born here on my porch and given away many of them. There's only one that the adoptee lady called me after a week to return the cat. She locked it in the bathroom while she was at work (claiming the cat was not adjusting well). If it's going to hide in the house that's fine some adoptees are scared but let them have the natural smells of your normal living space. There's plenty of ways to treat a scared new cat besides locking them up in a bathroom. Of course each case is individually different, cats will respect you more if you treat them normal without locking them in a room. It just so happens this cat is "blackbird" the black cat in my profile. He is the best cat I've ever had (and I'm not kidding). So much for locking them in the bathroom. That's her loss!

Not only does Cody adapt quickly, you can tell he is grateful for a fantastic home and he is a happy kitty!

You guys made him feel comfortable very quickly. It didn't take long for his tail to point straight up lol, good sign.
Yup! He doesn't meow that much, but his tail does all the talking.
He eventually said to himself “yes, these 2 humans can meet all my needs”.
He got that right.
I just realized that Alvi is no longer with us. I'm saddened, he was a precious cat. 💐🙏REST IN PEACE ALVI🙏💐

Cody doesn't yet realize what a good home he's found himself in. How old is he? He seems young. Will he be going outside like Alvi? He looks even more like my cat, Marty, than Alvi did.

Lol! No, sorry... we keep calling it Alvi cat channel, because Alvi was the main source of inspiration to start this channel. Cody is two years old, by the way. He used to spend a lot of time outside, so we let him out too, but so far we do it gradually and under supervision. We first like to see how 'clever' he is outside.

A happy day! You will never regret it. That little angel will give you so much. I had one almost just like that. Moine was a female. I lost her last summer, after almost 20yrs. She never failed to make me laugh, and listen to me when noone else would. She was a good listener.

He's a cutie, wanna see more about his adoption process:how you found him and decided that he's the one and only. We lost out beloved family cat 2 years ago, and my mom was absolutely devastated. He happily lived with us for 20 years, and she couldn't imagine her life without him. She even said that she doesn't want any pets anymore because it was too much for her. However, a year later or so, she found out in social media that there was this cat in our local shelter, she was part siamese part ragdoll or smth, and she was in such a horrible condition. Her previous owners weren't people, but actual monsters, they've punched and beaten her and cut her with razor blades, it's horrific, and I cry even thinking about it. So as soon as my mom saw that post her heart immediately ached for this poor bean, and she took her home. Now Bella is receiving all the love and care she was lacking all of her life, and my mom's finally in peace. Animals are wonderful beings, we're saving them, and then they're saving us in return
Your mom was her angel, and I like to think there are more angels than devils, thanks for sharing your story.

Tabbies are the best! I've adopted one almost 3 years ago and he was 6 at the time. He adapted to our home immediately and was as asleep with me the first night. He's affectionate, funny, playful and doesn't have a mean bone in him. Love him with all my heart!

Reminds me of when we rescued my orange boy. He adapted to the environment almost right away. It was like he said, "yep...this will do" and immediately started exploring the whole house. He's king of the castle now.

French fry was the name of my orange tabby. He passed a few years ago. He brought so much love and fun into our home. They are one of the smartest amoung cats. I know you will love him even more everyday. Thank you for rescuing Cody!
