    Thank you this was an amazing tip, how creative! I can’t believe that they are given such an uncomfortable cone when a simple comfy option like this exists

    • @ajchapeliere
      @ajchapeliere Місяць тому

      They're given the plastic ones because these soft felt ones often don't work. It's not actually that hard for a smart cat to pull these off or catch the edge of it on an object and fold it back so they can reach the incision. Don't get me wrong, the plastic ones are absolute trash, which is why I use the donut style collars (made them myself but they're available online too).
      Think about it this way. Sure, that felt cone is cheap. But if it fails and your cat tears her sutures out you're going to wish you'd spent 15$ on a donut collar instead of 2$ on something with a much higher risk of failure.

    THANK YOU! I didnt have felt but stiff paper bags work well too!! My cat is doing SO much better and the wide circular girth prevents him from licking the incision.

    Thanks so much for the idea. My girls suffered with the E collar for a day and I quickly did this. Now they're much happier. They eat, drink & uses the litter box easily. They sleep so comfortably too. 💕💕💕

      Its soo true! Eating and drinking was so hard with the normal collars.
      With this new great idea collar they are so comfortable, to such an extend that even after removing it they dont show signs that it was creating them discomfort. It looked as though the collar was just a part of them

    Great idea! My cat has skin allergies and when she has a flare up she sometimes scratches her face and neck to the point of bleeding. She freaks out completely with any other e-collar... plastic, blow up, etc. She walks backwards until she gets caught somewhere, then cries, growls, and hisses. The plastic cone is the right coverage but too heavy for her to hold her head up and walk, or eat/drink. I'm going to make some of these felt e-collars, but double the felt to make it a little stiffer, so it's harder to scratch her neck. Thank you!

    My cat falls over and acts "broken" as you said, with the collar, I'm going to try this because its soft enough to fold when she needs to eat but gets in the way enough to stop licking. Thank you, your cats are beautiful❤

    My cat has started to lick herself to much due to ichy skin from food allergie. So she is now on a diat. But it takes time unfortunately. But with this her hair can grow back at the places where she licked it nearly bald. Thank you :)

    Friendly reminder: sure, this only costs 2$ and maybe it worked in this case. But these have a higher risk of failure than a 15$ donut collar. What is the vet bill going to cost people when the felt one fails and the cat tears her sutures out? Trying to save $13 and costing yourself over $100 just for the urgent office visit fee in the process isn't good math.
