I think its absolutely cool that in tiberian sun the super weapons actually fucked up the terrain height to simulate permanent damage done by it. (You cant rebuild in the spot in most cases - applicable with the ion canon and nuke)

Like the iconic dropship loadout, Night affecting range and speed (Like Earth 2150), An actual threat rating node, a Third playable faction (Most likely the forgotten, Cabal would have been the fourth), Cheat Codes and the Radar being Upgradeable. Also there was going to be a unit called the Scavenger which take parts of units destroyed and add them onto it similar to the GLA Units like the marauder and the Purifier from Tiberium Wars.

Technically not a superweapon, but the MADD tanks from Red Alert (they may have only been in the Aftermath expansion, I don't recall) deserve mention. 3 of them can kill every building and vehicle in a huge radius. For anyone unfamiliar, a MADD tank will take 40% of max HP from any vehicle or building, so x3 = 120% :D Not easy to get them in place, but if you pulled it off, you better have some kleenex handy. :P
I remember these tanks. A very destructive weapon but too hard to pull trick off, usually the enemy manages to destroy the tanks before they can explode and it's ultra hard to explode more than 2 tanks.
And the Foehn from Mental Omega (think it was either Haihead or Last Bastion) had the MADMAN tank. Depending on location, it could apparently destroy a Conyard. But you can't use the Chronosphere or Iron Curtain on it.
They can take out a whole army, so you can rush the base afterwards. But they are rather weak against buildings. (Only defense or smaller buildings get destroyed)
I'd say the Scrin mothership would qualify as a sudo superweapon. one shot from its weapon would have a cascade effect on units and structures increasing its effective range. a beautiful sight to behold. (getting it to last long enough to fire is another thing altogether)

I remember a mod for C&C 3 (not KW) I played once that had a SUPER realistic nuke in it. The flash, blast, and even radiation all horrifyingly on point. I also remember messing around with the INI file of RA2 with an editor once and making the radiation much more realistic and the visual effect red.
My first experience with the Superweapons was blowing myself up with a nuclear missile, remarkably the other guy blew himself up as well because he felt bad
You missed, T Bomb from C&C 3 , its on GDI Campaign , though its only on story that if you use it, you'll get Bad Ending. or perhaps from Zero Hour, MoAB from USA and Nuclear Carpet Bomb from General Tau.

Recently been thinking - they really should've swapped superweapons in RA2. Lightning storm would be more stylistically appropriate for Soviets who use lots of tesla weapons and more esoteric tech, while the nukes would better fit the Alliance.

Hmmm... Strangely, I can't recall ALL of the parts that you mentioned, but I remember that in Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge you fight on the Moon. But other parts?.. Maybe that was some mod? I would suggest: * Replay Read Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge (they are great anyway! ;-) ) * Google for some Read Alert 2 mods. Good sites to search for mods would be ModDB and Nexus Mods. But also try to google them too!
What the heck have they nerfed the superweapons in c and c remastered? In the original if you get hit with a nuke everything in the blast radius is wiped out, here most buildings are only partially damaged

I always found that cool as well.
The only thing that prevented the terrain damage was if the ground was filled with pavement/roads.
You reminded me the old artillery, before the 2.07 update, which would simply turn my base into a mountain after half an hour of playing.
Oh yeah and the Pre-Firestorm homing artillery from Nod - made the later missions a hellhole to build up your base in any regard.@@zoom3000
