Lots of people wanted an AoE IV taking place in the industrial age but I can see major reasons why they decided against it: -The central mechanic of creating a city from scratch and gathering basic resources (Food, gold, wood) from the map it wouldn't fit in a game taking place in the modern era. Every corner in the planet has already been reclaimed and industry has become much more complex. -It would be very difficult to create modern era AoE game that doesn't feel like a ripoff of Command and Conquer; especially Generals. -AoE II has so much prevalence that the fanbase will dislike anything that stray too far away from it. This kinda happened to Age of Mythology and AoE III. Conterpoints?
I love to play this game because of the harmony and peace. Seeing how the villagers collect gold, hunt animals, cut down trees, see how they fish... And then the harmony is broken by battles. 🤣
Waited a while to download the AoE2 at Gamepass because I thought the gameplay would be weird on console but its so cleverly done, enjoying my childhood game on a 40 inch TV now ❤❤
Hands down my most played game ever, and I play/played a lot of games. AoE II, AoM (+Titans), and Stronghold Crusader, were a gigantic part of my childhood, as well as my fascination with history, and the myths of the past. Thanks for this vid. Going to share it with my dad.
loved this video. I went ahead and subscribed. I was there, 3000 years ago, Gandalf. I remember. I grew up playing 1997, 98, 99, 2000 versions of the game. very fun game. Been living under a rock for many years, had no idea there were so many remakes and 4 looks amazing!
I am 20 now. My very first computer game was AoE2: The Age of Kings. My older brother installed it on the family computer when I was about 5 and it was one of the best things he could've done. I love what they did with the Definitive Edition.
I played the original AoE2 for HOURS as a kid. All these sound effects really brought me back. Sadly I don't have the disc anymore, but I would like to play it again someday. What version would you guys recommend? There seem to be so many incarnations of AoE that it's kind of overwhelming.
This has always been a very popular genre by virtue of how involved it is. I remember playing Populous on the Amiga and wishing there was more to it, and then I got AoE on PC later in life and everything felt complete :)
Age of empires 1997 and 1998 are the best and I am still loving them. It have a lot of memories attached to it, I remember it playing with Pentium 2 Compaq with whole brothers and sisters were surround. That time when everybody was taking care of each other. Even games are updated like upto Age of empires 4 but nowadays every one's living their own lives completely separate and I am playing it alone till this day whenever I got free time.
Age 4 doesn't feel organic somehow to me. Archers hitting with 100% accuracy especially town centers and castles shooting as if the game is a TD or something... Unit and weapon ratios are weird. Age 3 cannon mechanics could've been implemented here as well. Elevation could have been a thing. Knights charging upwards is just not feeling right. These are the things I can come up within 30 seconds.

"Every corner in the planet has already been reclaimed and industry has become much more complex."
Maybe simplify for the industrial age?
Thank you for the video !
A pleasure to watch & discover !
Thank you!
Age of empires 2. One of the most great game ever. Have been playing it since childhood and still now in 2024 playing it. Best Nostalgic Game ever!!
The Age of Mythology games were some of the most fun games I have ever played
Even if the first one isn't the best it will always have a special place in my heart since it is one of the first game I ever played.
That it does. Lo lo loo
i started with aoe3 (disk) , and now im playing aoe 2 de on pc, great games
Amazing video, great job!!
Loved this AOE series very much. Played it in my childhood (around 2009) kind of nostalgia I got watching this video. Thx man
I always loved AOE 2 my childhood game, i spent days in the editor making epic cities
My whole body got chills within 1 second of this video.
Who looking for this game in 2024
Ur mom
I love this game, if you're looking to buy it my recommendation is Age of Empires 2
I love to play this game because of the harmony and peace. Seeing how the villagers collect gold, hunt animals, cut down trees, see how they fish... And then the harmony is broken by battles. 🤣
Age of Empires 2 has been so popular that it almost completely overshadowed its predecessor, the original Age of Empires. It too was a great game.
Age of empires 1-4 stay with me from my childhood to adulthood. I am so lucky to meet this game!
Me: Watching Evolution of Age of Empires Also me: oh shit here we go again. AOE installed ;)
Still playing?
@@GameEvolutions Of course. At this moment ive got on my pc AOE 4, 2 DE, 1DE and classic 1 with HDmod
Thank you for video.
Astonishing hand-made paintings where the key to AoE success:)
It surely helped!
why is AOE2 still so much better than any of the new ones?
These games are legendary
Age of Empires 2 HD will forever be the best, something so enjoyable about that game that will never get old.
Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition is the most recent version of AoE 2.
Steam
I like only age of empires 2 defenetive edition. The music and everything i can't tell how much i love this game!
Age of empire 3 blood ice stone is the bestest... childhood memories 💝🔥😍
I started on the OG AOE back in 97. Man, how time flies!
Still playing AOE 2 Every day! 🙌🏻
Age of mythology was criminally underrated, can't wait for the remake
Happy to say I've enjoyed almost every phase
These all are masterpieces!!
Age of Empires II (2001 - play station 2) is my fav
All the music the sound effects brings back so much nostalgia. Please turn back time. I want my awesome childhood back!
Es impresionante la evolucion de un juego tan antiguo
Nothing to say
AOE II (All versions) are the best!
Que nostalgia recordar este hermoso juego, el 2 es mi favorito y la historia del 3 insuperable
This has always been a very popular genre by virtue of how involved it is. I remember playing Populous on the Amiga and wishing there was more to it, and then I got AoE on PC later in life and everything felt complete :)
the starting music for aoe1 is so nostalgic, my friend gave me the disc after he found it in a cereal box in the early 2000s
Rất thiết thực, tôi đã rất khó khăn khi tìm kiếm những tựa game tương tự AOe2 cám ơn biên tập 😀
Age of Mythology 2002 best game ever 😢❤
Thanks for making this video
Age of Empires 1 - best
AoE4 is still a great game
In your dream stop crying 1 Year old kid.
Aoe3 fovever
Stop crying 1 Year old kid 😁
@@ancuttaysai4284You're too inmature.
