    Definitely some debate on the use of arms...
    Different directional patterns require different arm movements.... You can see the arms come into play on some of the more rotational patterns...
    So many sports require the athlete to move the lower body independent of the upper body....
    quite often the lower/ upper body movements may actual conflict (ie. change of direction while carrying an implement)....

    Charlie I am a huge fan of ladder drills I do them every day. Everything looks great the only thing that I would say is every one has awful hand motions. When you run your hands move back and forward. when you do ladder drills its the same thing. If you'd like I can video and show you. Im not trying to crush you just trying to help out !!!! great video.

    @jimmyshitbags no it builds speed and agility so you can handle a ball better in soccer, do moves in football, and pretty much just improve your overall speed and agility in about every sport.. some drills are sport-specific and some are made for any sport

    That kid in the yellow shirt and red shorts has real talent. Fast as hell for his height. Good wide receiver or basketballs player....very fast and coordinated for his height and frame.

    The majority of training based around speed is directed towards running, in which the use of arms/ hands in a "running motion" is encouraged....
    However, the majority of speed training/ sprint mechanics don't carryover very well in sports that are acceleration/ agility/ deceleration/ implement-wielding sports.....
    Perform a speed ladder/ FOOT quickness session AND hold a hockey stick/ racquet/ person, and then use your arms..... Replies are welcome :)

    MISTAKE! on Backward Righ Leg Lead Whip -
    Based upon your Backward Left Leg lead Whip, this drill is supposed to be
    - Left foot goes straight backwards box by box and
    - Right foot Whips from side to side in FRONT of your body,
    but your right foot whips behind your body,
    Don't want to be picky, just want to make sure I learn right, :D

    Moving your arms is probably the only way to get faster at this drill.Watch the pros in other videos.

    Hi, have you tried "Musclegion" (do a Google search for it)? On their website you will find a useful free video explaining how to develop notable muscle mass very fast. It made it possible for Brandon to break through his muscle development stagnation and therefore build ripped lean muscle mass without fat very fast. Hopefully it works for you too.

    How is one supposed to know what the stepping pattern is if you're doing it at full speed? It's ridiculous to watch unless you are a seasoned athlete. How about this for a wild idea: 1) run the pattern at normal speed; 2) show it in slow motion so those of us who are not world class athletes can learn what in the hell you're doing?

      just press on cogwheel and select speed.
