For us overseas speakers, it just sounds like gibberish. (a fancy one lol) But, it would still be interesting to see what each country with their voice actors would do working with these unique characters.

For example: Ryu's Hadouken is a special and his Shinkuu Hadouken is a Super Special Move. My guess is that, at least in the beginning, the US fighting game community (FGC) was mostly based on Capcom Games and they ended up using terms from games like Street Fighter or Marvel vs Capcom in other franchises, like KOF or Guilty Gear. Have you ever noticed the icon with a letter that apperars below your life bar when you win a match in Marvel vs Capcom? If you finnish with a Hadouken, a icon with a "S" will be shown. And finnishing with a Shinku Hadouken, will be a "SS". Sorry if you already knew that and keep up the good work!
I just wanted to avoid that Street Fighter way of saying it, since SDM is kind of a trademark for SNK games. It also sounds funny to me: "Desperation Move" 😅 But maybe it should be cool to make it simpler by using the terms you mentioned! Thank you! 😁

Not sure why a year later I am being shown this video; in the game King of Fighters Maximum Impact in the US, Yagami IS voiced in English. They did try to deliver as good as possible for "What's wrong?" And yes, his SDM is translated "Playtime is over; Cry, Scream and D**" It doesn't matter what language you translate Iori to, he's a badass glam-goth. Also the line Iori says when he evades attacks totally make sense.

I really really love that Iori talks mad shit when fighting, instead of shouting the attack's names, which by the way have very cool names! The name of his DM or super is Forbidden method 1211: Maiden Masher. That being said, I feel like hearing Iori speak English wouldn't work, at least for me.
I think "doushite?" could be also translated as "What's wrong?". Maybe it's not accurate, but it would be more fitting for English dub. Also, when i think of Iori Yagami English voice first thing that comes to mind is "Vergil but with deeper voice", or some dude trying to sound overly edgy if we speaking "so-bad-it's-good"/plain old bad English dub.
