You can only hear it once you know what the japanese words are. If you are not told they say tatsumaki senpuu kyaku, you will never know what they say.
As someone who grew up in a spanish speaking household, I think one of the things that has always tripped me up is that in "senpuu" it sounds like there is a rolled R in the "puu" So my ear can't separate it from something like Tek-Tek Puh-R-R-Ru-Ken
I pretty much figured out what was said after watching the Street Fighter 2 anime movie. And since explaining what they were saying, I was deemed insane. So thanks for this video, even if it come 30 years to late
Your previous vid was the only one that explained it clearly. Glad you made a follow up vid. The child in me will always call it "katkat barukat" but the adult me knows the truth now coz of you lol. Thanks!
I live in Japan. He does say “kyaku” but in spoken language, often the last syllable is made extremely soft, so we hear “kyak”. The “ku” doesn’t have to be emphasized. For example okyakusama (customer) is a word we hear almost all the time from store employees. They say “okyak sama”. Just like arigatou gozaimasu, people often drop the elongated ou at the end and arigato, and gozaimasu becomes gozaimas
I'm did study english of this entire year im very happy i can heard it well i remember when you made the iori's video im very happy you back with this channel now i started to study Japanese for maybe in the future i go there
I’ve always thought the same when I was younger as well, but watching anime these past few years has helped me understand that he really is saying tatsumaki senpukyaku.. tats(u) mak(i) senpuukyak(u) some of the letters seem silent because of how rapid fire the move is, so they say the words as quick as possible while making it seem natural.
When i began playing this game in my secondary school days that tornado rouund kick by either Ryu or Ken sounded in my ear like( ha tap tap du ken) now ive taken time listen to the explanations and the real pronounciation is clear 😂😂😂😂😂
Wonderful video thanks to you i don't hear tak tak peru jack anymore 😅😅😅 but tak tak senouu kyak 😂 sorry even after isolation i can't hear tatsumaki only in street fighter alpha it's clearly tatsumaki
Kyaku, I understand it being pronounced "kyak". In my martial arts class, I noticed some words with the letter u on the end. It's not pronounced. Like roku is pronounced "roke"
I still hear the SF2 version as "sat-tat-tat-ta-roo-kat"😂. When you slowed down, I could her Senpu and Kyak, but I still couldn't hear Tatsumaki well. In Alpha 2 the voices are much clearer.
ok I got it 😂, if I read "tatsumaki senpuu kyaku" before I play it, I will hear it, but if in my mind I will read "HA PEK PEK BRUUKET" it will sound like that as well 😂
the i at the end of tatsumaki and the U at end end of kyaku is intended to be soft and almost inadauble. That's just the japanese language. Words end in a vowel, but the vowel is sometimes soft.
I hear and always heard ''senprrru''.I know they've been rerecorded throughout the years in various versions but I always wished capcom would release the uncompressed recording versions.the x68000 samples are colsed to that.
Definitely hear it now, thank you very much! I wonder why they never shortened it. I could imagine at least Akuma in a gravely, evil voice just saying "Tatsumaki" or "Tatsu". Or... what if Ken varied more from shoto roots and starting saying "hurricane (kick)". And therefore it sucked people into the attack or pushed them away depending on the input. That'd be neat.
Rene, the word "Kyaku" in Ryu and Ken's Special move, the "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku" were pronounced in "SILENT LETTER U" just like how they pronounce the Japanese name "Kyoske" it's "SILENT LETTER U" right? But if you write that name, it's Kyosuke... I hope you get what I mean 😉👍🏻👍🏻
The word "kick" pronounced in japanese is "kikku", with a brief pause between the syllables. If you're familiar with KOF, Shingo has the Shingo Kick, and you can hear him say it :)
I don't think you are right that the character always says name of the move as that would mean Ryu and Kens voice is 80 or so % worse then all other characters. Defensive Bird kick , Ha do ken , Sure you ken. Alpha 2 might be different words.
You can only hear it once you know what the japanese words are. If you are not told they say tatsumaki senpuu kyaku, you will never know what they say.
Same with any foreigner language. Or backwards recording. Or even in your own language if singed fast enough.
Think of Batman pooping snakes!
As someone who grew up in a spanish speaking household, I think one of the things that has always tripped me up is that in "senpuu" it sounds like there is a rolled R in the "puu" So my ear can't separate it from something like Tek-Tek Puh-R-R-Ru-Ken
Sounds more like Ahtatayukken 🤷🏻♂️
I don't care what anybody says, I like "MY NUTS ARE BROOKEN"
😂😂😂 bro 😂😂😂
This cleared up a mystery, I always wondered why he was shouting "afflicted millions" (e.g at the 5 min mark)
"how's that shampoo, ken!?" 🤣
im sorry but no matter what you say in this video i will never unhear "dont touch my burgerr"😂😂😂😂
I never thought that i could hear that so clear. Thank you!
I hear it now... To some extent, because a man cannot un-hear:
"Attack at your head" 😂
"Tatserite Sen paruget" that's what he's saying in English.. On the new version he says kick at the end.
I pretty much figured out what was said after watching the Street Fighter 2 anime movie. And since explaining what they were saying, I was deemed insane. So thanks for this video, even if it come 30 years to late
I once heard Ryu shout "Eat this, ya prick".
I have and will forever hear
"Ah-trat-trat-tuur-get"
Thank you for sharing this, very helpful. Hello from USA to you!
Hey! Glad it was helpful! 😁
You really make me start again play street fighter😂
Chun Li: Spinnig Bird Kick
What we heard as a child: Mi - Sa - Gi / Mi - Ya - Gi
We thought it's a reference to Mr. Miyagi. :-))
Your previous vid was the only one that explained it clearly. Glad you made a follow up vid. The child in me will always call it "katkat barukat" but the adult me knows the truth now coz of you lol. Thanks!

The best way to listen to the voice samples is to go into the test menu in service mode 🙂
When I first heard it as a kid in the 90s, I believed that all of Ken and Ryu's special moves ended with a "-git"
Nice one i tought it says protektekduket...we 90s kids in the Philippines will always hear it like protek tek duket ....
Okay I can clearly hear it now, "Perfect that project"
I'm did study english of this entire year im very happy i can heard it well i remember when you made the iori's video im very happy you back with this channel now i started to study Japanese for maybe in the future i go there
me, the og 90s filipino kid, will always hear it as PROTEK TEK BRUKET , same goes to the next generation who will hear it. unless youre a japanese.
I really like that you translate all that thx so much and I want to see next time translate kyo character from king of fighter ❤
I’ve always thought the same when I was younger as well, but watching anime these past few years has helped me understand that he really is saying tatsumaki senpukyaku.. tats(u) mak(i) senpuukyak(u)

It's very hard to clearly hear what is really being said but, good job verifying exactly ryu & Kens spinning kick.
😂😂😂😂 "my nuts are broken" now I can't even hear the correct thing you put here
Awesome explained 👏
Street fighter 2 is my favourite game at all time❤
In Street Fighter Alpha 2,Sakura says only Senpuukyaku.
That's crazy... you can totally hear it without the music.
I like to see you do Ryuji Yamazaki next or Dan hibiki
Protect that round kick
Cara, finalmente consegui "ouvir" essa frase no game kkk valeu Renê!!
The cat cat brought cat 😺😺😺
Crazy I still hear senpuru, which my wife says she hears senpuu. Sucks to suck but I definitely hear it all better thanks to you!
Wow this just blew my mind, I've tried to understand how theyre saying Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyak since 95
Monstro, E o pior que eu achava que era Kick a tradução de kyaku
Ótimo vídeo 👏🎉
When i began playing this game in my secondary school days that tornado rouund kick by either Ryu or Ken sounded in my ear like( ha tap tap du ken) now ive taken time listen to the explanations and the real pronounciation is clear 😂😂😂😂😂

Very good analysis!
Personally, I understood Kyaku from the beginning, it was the clearer word. That "ku" is a little distorted, though.
So in short, "Tatsmak Senpuu Kyak" is how you pronounce it. Nice. 👍
i think its just the dialect so fascinating yet so sighhh
I just wanna know what Fei long be saying during his flaming kick. Something like "why katu" or "why can't you".
It's actually just a shout, just like Bruce Lee used to do. Something like "Watchu!"
we need more of this videos
"THAT'S MIKE SAINT PERU, GYAT!"
TatsmakSempuruukyak. That's what it truly sounds in sf2 even after hearing it alone
Don't ever stop making these videos
Great, thanks!
You win! Perfect!
ok I got it 😂, if I read "tatsumaki senpuu kyaku" before I play it, I will hear it, but if in my mind I will read "HA PEK PEK BRUUKET" it will sound like that as well 😂
You must have read from the booklet that came with Cartridge 😆!!
Yes I Ken. 😁🤣
Cool stuff by the way 👌
Watch out for my verruca
Waaaaaooo 😂 it really says that!!!! I was always with the CON TAK TAK DUUUKEN 😂
the i at the end of tatsumaki and the U at end end of kyaku is intended to be soft and almost inadauble. That's just the japanese language. Words end in a vowel, but the vowel is sometimes soft.
Don't tocuh my brga still makes more sense
but you did a great job man
I hear and always heard ''senprrru''.I know they've been rerecorded throughout the years in various versions but I always wished capcom would release the uncompressed recording versions.the x68000 samples are colsed to that.
make more of this please 😂
Do Kyo Kusanagi next pls
Hey there!!! I didn't know you have a channel speaking in english, do you have a channel speaking in spanish? 🇪🇦🇲🇽
"projected nugget!"
PLEASE DO FOR OROCHI IN KOF
Kyaku 3:25 , he is just saying Kya or Kyaf (without ku) in the end.
Maybe a good idea to include how it's said in Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike.
Kyaku almost silent the K or the Ku, thats how they speak on particular words
Definitely hear it now, thank you very much! I wonder why they never shortened it. I could imagine at least Akuma in a gravely, evil voice just saying "Tatsumaki" or "Tatsu". Or... what if Ken varied more from shoto roots and starting saying "hurricane (kick)". And therefore it sucked people into the attack or pushed them away depending on the input. That'd be neat.
Nice .Thanks Bro !
🙏🏼😁
Dont attach that blanka
Can you do The king of fighters
If Ryu is an arabian, "Abu Ken...!!", "Kattatil barakah", "Syukron Ken!!"
U is only silent sometimes in the syllable SU. It doesn't happen in any other syllable 😉
Nice and clear!
I am still hearing fuck chuck chuck pilirjack😂
I always thought "kyaku" was the phonetic English translation for "kick" and not "leg.".
The word "kick" pronounced in japanese is "kikku", with a brief pause between the syllables.
If you're familiar with KOF, Shingo has the Shingo Kick, and you can hear him say it :)
@ReneSpeak I always thought Shingo straight out yells "kick." There is no "ku" sound at the end even though it's written that way.
@@vonVile It's a matter of training your listening skills then. It's pretty clear 👉🏼 ua-cam.com/video/g7TnUCP4ybA/v-deo.html
Talk about the kof98 characters plz
Da-phuk-shet-mule-kick!!
how do u ken ? sure you ken !
Please do yamazaki
😂 😂 can you please do all king of fighters 2002 magic characters
Senpuu sounds like Saint Pruitt to me. lol!
Tatsumaki Senpu ru~~kyak in SF2
It's "kyakh" because the U is silent in japanese.
🤣🤣🤣
Si he don’t say “ah tek tek tuu get”
Oct tick tok badu kick
"Desu" in jp also speaks Des.... the last u in most words are silent
I heard " eat the poo ken!"😂
😂😂😂
Ho tek tek tek turu ken that's they say
Why they always yell their moves?
It is
"Dak dak dak nugget"
Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku🤣🤣🤣
Ehsike Sec Byuken.
I heard mak-taktet-poloket.
I don't think you are right that the character always says name of the move as that would mean Ryu and Kens voice is 80 or so % worse then all other characters. Defensive Bird kick , Ha do ken , Sure you ken. Alpha 2 might be different words.
No way it's the same they say as it's written
