i heard a few things that were off with the new one... but i need to rewatch to remember which ones.. oh rtight.. an easy one i remember. the orochi iori. that scream.. the new VA didnt quite pull that off
I blame the sound mixing for this one (to some extent). Here the 3 clips are too disjointed, they should have entangled them better. To me the best rendition of this laugh is from the Capcom vs SNK series, it was PERFECT there rhythmically and emotionally (and got me attracted to the character instantly) The new guy is good as what he is doing but I miss the crazy over-the-top berserk laugh from the Saika SDM. This was one of the best things from 2k1 and they never completely brought it back :(
Takanori Hoshino does a great job since I didn't even know it was a new voice actor behind Iori. Still, when you compare Yasui to Hoshino, I really think Yasui has a better voice that fits more with Iori's madness when he laughs or when he executes SDMs.
The great thing Kunihiko Yasui did was that he'd always deliver the lines and yells in a different way each game. Paraphrasing him: "To add more realism/humanity". By doing that, he made the transition into a new VA much more easier to take. When I first heard Yagami in XIV, I thought it was just Yasui delivering the lines in a different way. There were parts in which his voice sounded deeper and less smooth than I remembered, but I attributed that to his age... turns out it was just a new voice actor. Fantastic job. It is always great when a new VA can sound so similar to the previous one.

When I first watched Yugioh 5d's, i thought Jack Atlas shared the same voice actor with Yagami, but now I only found that Yagami was not Takanori by then. Their voice really have some resemblance
You must have been thinking of Yasui Kunihiko san, who was the first voice actor of Iori Yagami. Takanori Hoshino san would replace Yasui san as the new voice for Iori Yagami starting from KOF XIV.
As a Tekken player since Tekken 5, I can confidently say he doesn't sound like Kazuya. Sure, he has one or two similar grunts, but that's where the comparison ends.

No one can match the aggressiveness and roar like yasui (for example : 1:00 & 1:31) also his voice is more deep and that's why it sounds too damm legit. I think they should bring this VA back.
KyoKusanagi Eso suena imposible. Supongo que la razón por la cual cambiaron los actores es porque la mayoría, debido a sus edades, ya no alcanzan el timbre de voz que tenían antes. O eso es lo más lógico de pensar. :(

KOFXIV actually "has" more full-sentence dialogue than usual and *50* characters at launch, so SNK cannot just keep just some of the old VAs because they've become too famous and expensive by this point.
