Hey there, all the way from Mexico! One memory that never fails to bring a smile to my face is the Ralph super punch from King of Fighters. Back in the day, we would gather at a friend's house to play in the arcade. Whenever my mom would send me to grab a soda or some tortillas, Ralph would bellow out "GALACTICA PHANTOM." Another classic is the hidden gem from Mortal Kombat, not the characters themselves but the Easter egg. I used to hear "WHOOPI" but it turns out it was actually "Toasty." Sending you warm regards and a big thank you for sharing the video ❤️

Your issue with not hearing the "S" in Shou of shouryuuken and Sonic boom is because of the heavy crunching of data of the sounds. Sound data took relatively a lot of place on the then limited cartridge memory. "S" sounds are higher frequency and those get lost first when data / sound quality is reduced.

Tiger Robocop z. B. könnte ich da nicht heraushören. 😅

Awesome video, I still learn something new about SF2 after all these years.
I want to add a fact: When Ryu won a fight he said: "You might defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance". Actually it was a translation error what he meant was "You must train Shouryuken (Dragon Punch) for a long time to stand a chance". The mis-translation caused increasing curiosity about who "Sheng Long" was and eventually led to creation of that character. A hoax came into life :)

In Malay, you'll hear Guile's "Sonic Boom" as "Salibun"... Salib means cross, so, many kids back then associate Guile with Christianity, and the move's purpose is thought to shock and crucify the foe.
Being in a Muslim country, (Malaysia/Indonesia), many kids avoided playing Guile, and those who used the move, are scold by their parents for saying christian prayer.
Well, that's one more reason to play as Chun Li...

Spot on with Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, E. Honda, and Vega. But Guile clearly says "Sonic Boom" because he's in the Air Force and when a fighter jet breaks the sound barrier it's called a sonic boom. As far as Sagat, of course he's saying, "tiger uppercut," because the move is an uppercut. Why would he say "tiger robocop"? But I guess if English isn't your first language, you'll hear a lot of different things when it's spoken.

When I was a kid, I thought Guile's sonic boom was "Achoo" (a sneeze), and his snot would fly out spinning.

In Italy, for the tornado kick we used to say "ATTAKKEN SPLUGEN", which means nothing, but it sounds like some menacing German threat

I was a Street Fight 2 nerd. I knew the meanings of all the Ryu & Ken moves because of the old Japanese movie of Street Fighter.
The English translations get the words right. However, the villains of Balrog, Vega, & M. Bison are switched in the Japanese.
So, in the Japanese (the movie's language) Bison is called Vega, Vega is called Balrog, and Balrog is called Bison.
The only thing you spoke about that I didn't know was what E. Honda said, and what it means.

Yesterday, for no particular reason, I watched Street Fighter matches. Probably out of nostalgia. I thought to myself that I never knew what these guys were saying. Today I come across this video. UA-cam is in our heads :)
