These sound fantastic dude, you’re absolutely nailing that vibey sound like nothing else 🎉 I actually bought this vst a few weeks ago after trying the demo because i had a ton of fun messing around with it and I’m a big fan of the devs (they make awesome Reason REs). Did you ever use your physical one as a tape loop instrument? I never got into analog tape loops, I loved using the Gauss iOS app… and now I can just do it on my Mac 😂 Thanks for the review, stellar sounds all around as usual.
I did try it but it didn't have any versatility to it was was too labor intensive. But yeah, I like to throw one track of something into this and spice up what I am doing a bit. It can take the digital edge off and stiffness off an arpeggio for sure.
I've spent LOTS of money on 4 track machines, and used various reel to reel machines trying to see what the rage surrounding analog recording is all about. Well, here's what I ultimately concluded... there is ZERO advantage when it comes to electronic music. Maybe some type of indi rock, or punk, or weird lo fi dreamy music... but not electronic. Even my really nice 8 track reel to reel machine compresses the bass/ doesn't record bass in the first place, to the point where you would never want such a lack of bass. There's no advantage... you're not getting some kind of magic "saturation." One reel to reel machine I used had way too much tape saturation, so when you combined too much upper mid saturation with not enough bass it's not a pretty sound. But.. I'm still tempted to try this... it being not actually analog means you can get some of the desired effect and not the actual limits of actual tape
Just bought it on sale at Plugin Boutique. It is fantastic - especially because you can load your own samples and create your own cassettes.! recorded my guitar with an e-bow and it works brilliantly.
This sounds dangerously close to the real deal to me especially on the top twinkling lead. It's been a while since I've used My 4-track machine though :P
