Awesome stuff - just discovered your channel last night 4/29/2024 - I’m in New York - we dig a lot of the same classic drummers - and vintage drums / sounds - great playing on all your videos - the Johnny Jenkins one was the one that got me hooked.
Just using the tone control slightly touching the batter head. Coated ambassador on top. Bottom head cranked up considerably. Playing the butt end of the stick with rim shots helps give it that thicker sound
@@Killenmachine05 I honestly don’t recall. I bought this drum 27 years ago. Can’t remember if I ever did that or if someone else did prior. It’s always sounded good so I’ve never fussed with it outside of changing heads.
@vintagedrummer79 that's somewhat the position I'm in with mine, I just got it but it's from 1970? There's just a weird ring I can't seem to get rid of, not sure if I want to tear the drum apart to check

Since you play in a Rolling Stones tribute band, what Charlie Watts look are you emulating here?
I'll just say that I adore looking at that (today so hard to find, but Charlies true!) traditional grip! :))))
Great feel. Sounds perfect
Thanks a lot!
Excellent drumming !
Thank you!
Tight. Love that snare sound.
Thank you!
Best drummer on UA-cam 😁
Aww, you’re too kind. Thank you!
Magical

I need my supra to sound like that, how are you tuning/muffling, anything beside the internal muffler?

@@vintagedrummer79 do you have the lugs on yours stuffed with cotton?

Not trying very hard on that front. Too old for that.
