@@TheTempleOfBoomAnyone with an ear can tell that’s a Keith Richards solo, and not a Mick Taylor one. As stated above, Andy Johns tells a great story about how “Bitch” came to fruition. To paraphrase: he said the rest of the band was in the studio working on the song and that it was going nowhere until Keith showed up, ate a bowl of cereal, plugged his guitar in, and completely transformed the song. Andy describes it as the moment he realized the significance of Keith Richards.
😂 definitely the greatest rock and roll band of time. The bad boys of rock. They were never afraid to tackle contrarversial social issues in their songs. Proof that they are the greatest is that they're still recording today. Awesome! Love them. Love you two as well. ❤😂🇨🇦
The world's greatest rock band! They are at least in the conversation. This was one of the best songs on Sticky Fingers, an album full of them. Next, try Can't You Hear Me Knocking, another classic tune, an epic with a twist everyone loves. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎷🎶
Bitch" was conceived during the Sticky Fingers sessions in October 1970. Richards was late that day, but when he arrived he transformed a loose jam into the trademark riff found on the released take. Andy Johns claimed: When we were doing "Bitch," Keith was very late. Jagger and Mick Taylor had been playing the song without him and it didn't sound very good. I walked out of the kitchen and he was sitting on the floor with no shoes, eating a bowl of cereal. Suddenly he said, Oi, Andy! Give me that guitar. I handed him his clear Dan Armstrong Plexiglass guitar, he put it on, kicked the song up in tempo, and just put the vibe right on it. Instantly, it went from being this laconic mess into a real groove. And I thought, Wow. THAT'S what he does.[5]
The thing that makes the Stones great is they are just a great band. They lock in the groove like no other band. They are not great individual players, but when they get those double guitars playing, then the rhythm section locks in the groove and they layer in the horns - look out. They play raunchy black music the way it’s supposed to be played
Mick Taylor(quit band in 74) and Keith Richards on guitars 🎸 Charlie Watts on 🥁 drumz (passed away in 21)Bill Wyman bass(retired in 91). Jagger of course sings. Bobby Keyes on saxophone 🎷 passed away in 2016.❤ Ron Wood been in the band since 75. 🎸 Brian Jones original leader who put the Stones together died in 1969😢
3:18 Good comment about the swagger...And that was the Stone's image..the bad boys of Rock N' Roll, drug using, hedonistic heathens and they lived life like it, too. ( Tony Sanchez, Longtime pal of Keith Richards and author of "Up And Down with the Rolling Stones, 1981) As for Keith's playing, I always loved his solos..none of 'em ever had the same sound, very creative . Bobby Keys was the session sax player who played on many of thier records.
The Stones rode into America right alongside The Beatles in the British Invasion. The Beatles were every parent's wet dream for their daughters; cute, well behaved, wholesome, singing, I Wanna Hold Yor Hand... The parents loved them. The Rolling Stones had bad boy DNA, they were singin: I Just Wanta Make Love to You. They were dangerous. The parents hated them. Who do you suppose the daughters found irresistible?
As others have said, this is Keith Richards on Lead, Mick Taylor on Rhythm which is not uncommon but usually it’s the other way around. 95% sure it’s a Keef riff though. Bobby Keys on Sax and Jim Price on Trumpet, they played wit so many of the greats and in my opinion, this is the best iteration of this band including the producer Jimmy Miller.
Patty- For a change, you should hear Lady Jane. 180 degree turn. Keith Richard's is the lead guitar, Bill Wyman is the bassist, Brian Jones is the Rhythm Guitar. Charlie Watts was the drummer.
A classic Mick verse: Sometimes I'm sexy, move like a stud, feel like kickin' the stall all night, sometimes I'm so shy, got to be worked on, don't have no bark or bite.
One of the last great songs from their run with Mick Taylor in their lineup. Arguably, the best players this group ever put forward. DANCE LITTLE SISTER, (DO, DO, DO, DO, ) HEARTBREAKER, IYS P LY ROCK-N-ROLL (BUT I LIKE IT) and the rare gem FINGERPRINT FILE cut loose throbbing rhythm and energy, represent some of the greatest recordings in their catalog. I remember buying the compilation album Made in the Shade for ITS ONLY ROCK-N-ROLL, ANGIE, and HAPPY, and it sold me forever on this band. After the first couple of paychecks from my after-school job in my senior year of high school, I started going to Peaches Record store every week and bought at least one cassette of the back catalog. I have since upgraded to cds and am glad I did. Because over 5o years later, their music still kicks ass. How about ONE HIT TO THE BODY next? Keep going and enjoy
Now that's rock and roll, baby. Beatles eat your heart out! 😉 Though when I first saw the title, I thought "hmmm, I've never heard of a Stones song called B@tch, must be one of their newer ones..." Then it dawned on me... "Ohhhh, it's Bitch, duh." I've been kind of a space cadet today. And I don't even smoke the bud anymore. Must be dain bramage. 😂
They were so heavily influenced by Chuck Berry. You have to watch the movie “Hail Hail Rock ‘n’ Roll. Keith Richards puts together a great band to back Berry in a hometown performance in a historic St. Louis theatre.
I will be going to check out the Mick Jagar and Kieth Richards shredding at Aligiant Stadium in Vegas. It will be my 5th time. Unfortunately, the late Charlie Watts won't be banging the big bass drum and the also diseased Bobby Keys won't be blowing that Saxaphone that was such a huge part of the Stones sound during the era that this song came out. Many great songs feature Bobby's Sax. Rip this Joint, Sweet Virginia, Brown Sugar, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Emotional Rescue, Tumblin Dice, Happy, which is sung by Kieth Richards, just to name a few.
Thanks Asia and BJ. This song is so good and I agree, Asia. While the guitar riff is stellar, the horns make this song for me, and make it sound like no one but the Stones. Man, that cheerleader bit was comedy gold. You both had me crackin' up.
Asia and BJ please UA-cam Rolling Stones live in Texas 1972. There are several songs where you can watch the most amazing live performance . I believe the early 70s when Mick Taylor was on lead guitar they were best rock ‘n’ roll band of all time. please check out that particular concert. I’m not sure if they were in Houston or Dallas. guarantee you will love every second of the show.😎
Hug's Y'all Yeah them Horn's was driving it and they also made them Gee Tars Stand out for the contrast... and Keith was channeling back to their Ole Blues Days like Little Red Rooster... Now BJ you better be careful... you walking on some thin ice... with that Cheer Leaders thing...Brau...
Hugs again Y'all frankly I had forgotten just how hot that cut was... Thanks for reminding me... have you two ever heard of Geoff Carlucci and Voice Play? Cuz if'n you haven't you might wanna give their cover of Seven Nation Army or Geoff's Aint No Sunshine a twirl as well...
That guitar is all Keith Richard’s on this one. Raw and dirty 🤘. Stones were always great at incorporating horns into their music. If you like the Stones/horns combo then you HAVE to check out All Down the Line from their 1972 concert in Texas (“Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones”). Man, that is Rolling Stones at peak form and when the horns kick in while Jagger’s singing “won’t you be my little baby for a while” - it is rock and roll perfection!
Facts! 💯 Keith on lead on this one. It’s well documented that Mick Taylor and Mick Jagger were trying to figure out a lead and Keith walked into the studio and realed off this great lead and they were like ….done, perfect!
This is a good song. Imho, Gimme Shelter is by far their best song along with Sympathy for the Devil. but I think u guys reacted to that. MONKEY MAN is another of the great songs of all time. Can't you hear me knocking is a timeless classic also. GOD BLESS.
WOW! I'm pleasantly surprised y'all found this semi-obscure classic. Yes, the Rolling Stones are the sleaziest sounding rock band of all time. But in a good way. An even more obscure Stones song that I personally luurve is FINGERPRINT FILE. It was recorded in 1974 but it's about CIA surveillance and whatnot and feels relevant to this day. If you've missed MISS YOU, though? Well, that's essential.
Greatest Rock n Roll band ever 🤘
"When you call my name....salivate like a Pavlov's dog", has got to be one of the slickest lyric lines ever!
Bobby Keys,on sax, and Jim Price on the trumpet, add their goodness to this classic..
Stones have always had badass horn sections on their songs...
Keith Richards played lead guitar on this with Mick Taylor playing rhythm
yeah.I dont think so..Keith couldnt play that lead , or any lead for that matter .

Wrong! Mick Taylor was Lead. Richards went to the Telecaster. That's a Rhythm Guitar.
You are correct . watched a performance of Bitch , at the Marque club ,circa 1972 , and it is indeed Keith playing lead . my bad .@@brianmiller6055

Keith Richards, the riff master, playing the rare lead....That groove is MEAN....
The greatest music lives on because of reactors like yourselves and hopefully for another 50+years it still will..can't say that about today's music
Man horn section and rock and roll go together like peas and carrots
"Hot Stuff" from the Black and Blue album has Billy Preston on piano...it's an old one from the 70's
Beat me to it Barry! That was a groove that every cover band, including my own that heard it, jumped on it. Nice one.
This is my favorite Stones track. I’m glad you guys dig it!!
