- Patti LaBelle performing at Live Aid in front of 100,000 people in the John F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia USA on the 13th July, 1985. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

Just found this performance. It should be mentioned every time live aid is discussed. Patti is an icon.
I do not think anybody could do a better performance than miss patti labelle did on live aid 85 . She was just on another level and I have never seen better and I am 62 now

one of the GREATS...Patti LaBelle is one of the great divas the States has ever produced. Her catalogue, from the Bluebelles on thru LaBelle, to all of her solo work, is kinda staggering, to the tune of 50 million-plus records sold. Her musical output is extremely impressive and she's one of those elder singers that the younger generation of singers, look up to in a very sincere way. You dont get placed on the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time" list, unless you've spent a lifetime being as successful as she's been.
People use the word diva so wrong now . Even Miss Patti said , to be called a diva you had to earn it
Her voice kept her on top. Others stay on sexually but Patti did it vocally.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES. SEEN HER LIVE ABOUT 6 TIMES, EVEN GOT UP ON STAGE WITH HER AND SHE HUGGED ME, WHILE SINGING TO ME AT CARNEGIE HALL IN NYC.... I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT AND I GOT A PICTURE TO PROVE IT...... LOVE YOU PATTI! ❤❤❤❤

I've been listening to my idol since I was about 12 years old ,her voice is so,so amazing that it send chill down your spine .I was.diagnosed with cancer when I was 18 and my throughs was I was going to die and that I won't be able to hear her sing I took a picture of her on the cover of jet every time I went to the hospital for my chemotherapy treatment,it gave me comfort and strength to live long and strong, when I get depressed and down, I turn to ms Patti to bring me around it's been 31 year that I've been cancer free thank you God and Ms Patti
I am happy that Patti brought you some solace and joy and i hope that the cancer stays in remission 😊

In the united kingdom we had the USA broadcast what was left of the USA live aid concert continued on the UK broadcast on BBC TV right up until four o'clock in the morning I could not last the distance which I regretted to this day but I glad I tet to see the end of the UK broadcast on BBC TV of the UK concert ten o'clock UK time
