I really get pissed when i see some Ghanaian folks talk about our population. Fam, Nigerians are just fucking talented and we take everything serious. Fam, in terms of music production, creativity etc you lots don't come close and i ain't trying to shade Ghana. But the fact is, give props when it's due. Always talking about population. When is something negative about Nigeria, i never hear you lots talk about how the population play a role. It's always when it's something positive. Funny folks

Ghanaians always say population... population.. but the forgot that Ethiopia is more populated than them.why is it that their music spread more than Ethiopia's own... man work hard stop all those population of a thing... Nigerians work's hard, and that's why they succeed... work hard...e.g Jamaica... are Jamaicans populated..

They are naturally more business minded than us Ghanaians and more dedicated to their craft. It also helps of their 200+ population and 20+ million diaspora spreading their music faster.
Another problem is that Ghanaians don't like challenging themselves. It's always gotta be within comfort zone or just give up altogether. We like to use the tired excuse of our small population and Fela copy Ghana to make afrobeats but the real answer is that we're not ambitious. Just look at small island Jamaica and how far they have and continue to impact the world for decades.
Is time for Ghanaians to wake up and just improve our music and actually understand the music business. We need to change our attitudes and stop wasting time pointing fingers blaming someone for our shortcomings and use that same energy for resolutions and improvement so everyone can benefit.

If a song hits it hits. Ghanaian songs don't have the vibe to hit internationally. Also artists abroad make money through concert tours ticket sales and even local football they don't patronise how much more a musician.
Also you some blame goes to religious culture, some people still have the idea that music outside religion is secular music and so they don't look up to artist as much as they do in abroad. If Kendrick Lamar with all his talent was a Ghanaian, he still would not make it in Ghana, he wouldn't have the respect that he has right now.
Also monetisation of sings is shit here. Piracy is standing in the way of artists making money. I stream a song, artiste makes money, I download and play over and over, he doesn't.

Ghana musicians are not serious that's why they release songs that are not appealing to other nations and audiences....their songs don't have vibes to dance to....Apart from Kwaku the traveler, black Sherrif, Sarkodie, and Fuse ODG...These guys are doing great in the international scene and have won several awards, some Ghana musicians don't have musicians who sing songs people like that much international and most them don't sing in English they sing only in their native tongue alone and pple don't understand that much but Naija musicians sing in English mix it with pigeon English, yoruba, igbo and other native dialect from other nations, it's allaabout international appeal, and everyone can understand that and it has Vibes you can dance to
...they need to upgrade their beats and style of music and sing for a wider audience....Naija musicians sing for the world to listen...Ghana musicians only sing for Ghanaians alone.....And Niaja musicians promote themselves alot with collaborations and producing songs for each other, take for instance Tekno, Sarz on the beats, Pheels they combine their flavors well with musicians...but Ghanaians don't show love to themselves....They need their top musicians to host a talent show and find good artist...not artist like Shata Wale who only rants and doesn't promote anyone but himself, he releases songs only for his fans in Ghana alone and doesn't think of the wider audience abroad...Someone said if you don't start thinking international and only local then you're not ready to grow...Naija Artist think international alot...like she said you can't listen to Ghanaian songs and relax....it doesn't have the vibe and melody, and rhythm 🤦🏽‍♂️
