Nigerians went to Ghana to expand Nollywood and make more money,, Ghanaians quickly uncover the agenda. Instead of being patient and learning the secrets of the industry, they became restive & sent the masters of the game away..
The masters left with all the strategies to a successful entertainment industry..
Then, the amateurs began fumbling time after time, again and again.. Now the wise among them have ran back to submit to the masters for survival..

It’s for the same reasons that their movie industry fractured into Ghallywood and Kumawood, because the Ashantis always have that tendency to dominate others and so when they don’t get what they want they will employ smear campaigns and all kinds of propaganda and tactics to discredit and il legitimize those in control. Because of their financial and numerical strength they often choose division or breakaway tactics that is precisely why Kumawood was founded out of Ghallywood.

Their reason being that the presence of Nigerian film makers in Ghana was not helping their industry. Because of that dirty move, Nigerian producers avoided Ghana completely and their industry became a history.
They felt they could do without Nigeria. Some of the stakeholders in their music industry are equally making the mistake currently. The honest truth is that Nigeria is the entertainment powerhouse of Africa; if you think you can do without them and go global, it will be to your own detriment.

The cinema culture in Nigeria is a game changer, coupled with the fact that the likes of Netflix and Prime Video now see Nigeria as a gold mine for authentic African stories at a fraction of the price compared to the Western world. Nigerians have cracked the code for quality cinematic movie making - these movies cost 100 of millions of Naira. Producers are now able to make their money back - thanks to quality cinematic production, plus Netflix and Prime handsome Payday for these movies after cinema show or directly to these streaming platforms.

Ghana created the FICTION of Nigeria VS Ghana. And they have been following that agenda, to their own disadvantage.
They wanted to exclude Nigeria's movie and music industries, and they ended up excluding themselves.
Ghana, Nigeria is not competing with you. There's nothing to compete about. But if Nigeria decides to accept your challenge, it will not be pretty for you.

Is totally dead because they are not creative even most of those good ones u are talking about are shoot by Nigeria directors for them but in their music industry recently their no1 artiste in gh shatta wale have been called out by his video director who have been shooting most of his hit songs from the one, that he has not been playing him for most of the videos,, a Nigerian. Just discovered your UA-cam channel after feeding so much on your contents on Facebook.
The issue here is that the bitterness of Ghanaians over the success of Nigeria in the entertainment industry. When Nigeria was collaborating with Ghana in film production, their actors got exposure with the huge Nigerian market.
When some Nigerian producers tried making movies from their shores due to the availability of electricity, they became greedy and started charging expensive dues which infuriated them and left them to build their Ghanawood themselves which they are reaping from.
The day Ghana accept that Nigeria is better than them in creativity, things will be okay for them.

In Nigeria, there are more than two partitions, there is the Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa partitions in the film making industry but there's like a mainstream partition that stands out as the structure holding all the other stems.
Collaborative(between film makers and govt) policies, recognition/respect of existing structures as well as the ability to adapt quickly to constant changes in technology are some of the things that helps the industry to continuously grow in spite of challenges especially socioeconomic challenges amongst others.

I won't say there is a division just because some sets of people don't attend the AMVCA award, it inly seems like that cos the standard has risen. There are now a lot of high quality movies, movies you pay close to pay 7 or 8 figures for the script, not to talk of production.
There is enough good quality movies to pick from than to go to a mid produced movie which even cannot be transparent with its data.
Overall, the standard has been raised and some people are trying to catch up and leverage on UA-cam which i feel might be a long journey but it looks like it's working

Having two movie industries is not a catalyst for a lack of success. In India, there is Bollywood and there's one for Tamil Nandu.
In Nigeria, there's Asabawood, Kannywood, and there's Nollywood.
All three are big. Kannywood is exclusively Hausa language, Asabawood (where Ruth Kadiri, Destiny Etiko, Zubby Michael etc belong), which can be found on UA-cam mostly. Acted predominantly by Igbo, and there's Nollywood, which is the high-budget, high-grossing cinema.
Funke Akindele, Alex Ekubo, Timini Egbusun, Toyin Abraham, Gabriel Afolayan, Genevieve etc belongs.
    All three are going well.
