Sheldon i remembered watching you here commenting on Asake when he was invited by someone to perform in Ghana, and people were complaining about him not singing more songs and you said "The guy only have few songs, and how can people expect him to sing and perform hundred songs. Just give Asake few years, he will have more to offer."
Truly you've been vindicated and i truly appreciate your support to our Nigerian brothers. Big up man!

Asake closed the 02 in such a short music career but his record label boss Olamide hasn’t been able to do so. What this means is that music doesn’t care about artists statute but acceptability by fans. No one can decides who blows but the fans.

I'm not trying to blaspheme here, but as a loose analogy, there's Jesus Christ and there is John The Baptist !
Each is as important as they played their role in evolving the Christian faith in the world!
Jesus was the Anointed One and yet he sought baptism from John!
Olamide's role is akin to John The Baptist!
In fact, his role as label boss is exemplary, in that he didn't stifle artistes like Fireboy , Bella Shmurda and Asake!
Ghanaian artists can't even do that, not for themselves and not for others!
      Big up to Olamide abeg!

As a Nigeria my problem is Ghanaians spend more time looking over the shoulder of Nigeria just for kicks and comparison. That is wasted energy that could've been done to look and address the problems in the industry to help Ghana Music catch up.
I tried listening to some Ghanaian songs recently from my coworker and not to make him feel bad but aside from Black Sherif, King Promise, Gyakie the rest of them sound like they're poorly engineered or they're bad imitations of sounds from Nigeria, Jamaica, UK. No originality nor craft to appeal beyond Ghanaians.
Blaming Nigerians for the woes of Ghanaian Music is a futile form of emotional blackmail. If Ghanaian Music ever manages to rise it will not mean Nigerian music will go down. We will simply improve our game just as we always have before to get to this point. Music is a business and that is also another thing I notice Ghanaians from their artists, influencers, and industry players all seem to lack.

It’s sad stonebwoy came to Boston for his tour and you could count the number of people who were there and there’s are a lot of Ghanaians in Massachusetts but for them to support their own is very sad. When any Nigerian artist come over they get their tickets sold out and most of them are Ghanaians. I don’t have any problem with them supporting the Nigerian music But use the same support to support our Ghanaian artists too.

The reasons most Nigerians don't bother about some of these differences we create are many including some these; Nigeria is the most tribally diverse collection in the world. secondly, we have obvious bits of every other tribe in Africa and most of the world-that is why we lift everything most people do without complain. Good music can’t be hidden. If we Ghanaians make correct music, it will go global. Jamaica has 2mil people and their music went global for 40yrs. It’s not about size or population. Do good music and everyone will play it. My observation is that Ghanaian artists rather rap as opposed to our good highlife music. Rap music is dying off. Afrobeats artists are now being preferred by labels.

Am thinking that when you succeed in cornering or establishing a brand, everything kinda works for you.
Jamaica introduced Reggae and it caught fire, even non Jamaicans started doing Reggae, they also introduced Dancehall and it also caught on with audiences globally. In same vein, Nigeria and Nigerians have pushed Afrobeats and it is somewhat becoming an acceptable brand globally. It is only naturally that we reap the gains. You can also reap some gains if you play along. Lucky Dube wasn't Jamaican but he was a world acclaimed Reggae artist. He never competed with the Jamaicans. He did his own thing his own way!.

There are thousands of Nigerian artists but only 4 have sold out the O2, add Rema and by year end it will be 5. Why do Ghanaians make it seem like 1,000 nigerian artists have sold out the O2? Those 5 artists Burna, Wizkid, Davido, Asake and Rema are among the top 10 biggest artists in Africa. These guys are global.
What Ghanaians do not know is that there' are thousands of Nigerian artists that are hustling day and night to breakthrough and they do it quitely with no complaints until they get the breakthrough they want.
By the way, Olamide is the mentor of Asake and Fireboy and he still makes music putting youngsters on his album. Why is nobody talking about that? Who has sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale put on that has become bigger than them?
The other day wizkid put King promise on his stadium show but one fuul somewhere who has done absolutely nothing for his own people was complaining that wizkid should have turned the biggest show of his career to a talent show for his Ghanaian friends who they smoke together. He even said appearing on wizkids's show was a national duty for Ghanaian artists. What a twisted way of thinking.
Afronation organizers have been putting Ghanaians on their platform regardless of the fact that the audience don't really rock with them like that. They have been doing it and no Ghanaian has seen the need to even recognize or appreciate their efforts. But the minute they drop one of these arists they start lamenting and making accusations as though it is their entitlement. What they refused to understand is that for every Ghanaian artist put on a Nigerian concert platform, there are hundreds of better Nigerian artists that are deprived of that opportunity. To be clear, of the top 100 artists in west Africa, I doubt if 5 Ghanaians will make the list if we are to go by impact.
The sense of entertainment is too much. Seat down, work hard, build your own platforms, support younger talent instead of stifling them and see your industry grow. With all the frustration, they will soon start accusing Nigerian artists of using juju to sell their music
