@Matthew Rider he really only had 1 bad year defensively. He is know for hustling and diving all over the field so idk what you mean by calling him lazy. Ig not running out a pop up once in a while? But yes he is prone to outbreaks but go watch video of him getting ejected, he's usually in the right

cobes Ψ agreed, but the explanation here makes sense. Arod really had the best career, regardless of roids his production was still there. Plus he is one of the greatest third baseman’s of all time as a fielder too, Griffey was a great outfielder but was mostly known for his swing. It’s definitely a hard choice, but I don’t think arod even needed the steroids to succeed. That’s what he took when he got injured later in his career, that is really what helped him mostly at the end. But yeah Griffey is probably a more realistic choice here

I saw Griffey Jr play early in his career as a child in the late 80’s at Fenway park against the Red Sox. years down the road in ‘02 I saw him play in his final years at Colorado as a member of the Reds. It was a special moment because I was now an adult. I stood up a clapped for him when he pinched hit in the 9th inning. I have huge respect for this player. I saw A rod too in Fenway as a Mariner. Ty Cobb
    Stan Musial
    Tris Speaker
    Mel Ott

    Frank Thomas
If you lower the threshold to 9,500 PAs, you add

Ken Griffey Jr is easily the best #1 pick of all time not just because of the PED situation with A-Rod, but he saved baseball in Seattle. A-Rod rode Junior's coattails in Seattle, went to Texas and put up historic numbers for a crappy team, and went to New York, only to become 2nd fiddle to Jeter (I know he's better than Jeter but if he performed more admirably in the playoffs, then there would be no issue). From the beginning of his career to his 5th year in Cincinnati, it was the Ken Griffey Jr. show.

Hmm, looking at these numbers which are closer than I thought, factoring his post-season numbers, consistency and durability, a case could be made for Chipper to be #1.

Great list, Marc though you could have flipped #1 and #2 and people would still agree with you.
Also, the 90's Mariners had three (maybe 4) generational talents yet couldn't make a world series.....

The best of top 10 overall picks and the best late round picks of all time would be a good video. Verlander should have been the 1st overall pick over Matt Bush

I never would’ve thought you would’ve put A-Rod #1, but good thing you did. He was a fucking animal steroids or not his skills were out of this world.

Fun fact: Adrian Gonzalez also got his older brother Edgar some MLB time while playing with the Padres. Not a knock on Edgar, but speaks to how good Adrian was.

Griffey had a bigger impact on the game of baseball and put Seattle on the map. A-Roid put up numbers, but was known as a diva, hated by almost everybody, and won a championship while taking PEDs. The only thing that makes me happy is that Jeter gets most of the credit for the Yankees 2009 World Series win. Cardinals fan btw.

Funny thing: I like Topps Bunt. I had fun with it for a while. But I got so mad when I realized I was locked out of my Guest account collection after a phone transfer that I didn't go back. So... I don't know, maybe I'll give it another shot.
