    Just purchased the new LCP II model in 22lr and couldn't find a cleaning video for it yet. It's identically to the .380 so thank you for your tutorial video. It wasn't long and drawn out so it was perfect for me. Thanks again! 💯

    Don't go willy-nilly prying your takedown pin with a screwdriver as shown in this video. It will mar and scratch up your frame and slide. Simply use a piece of dental floss hooked and wrapped around the underside of the domed head of the pin and pull up and out....no damage. If you want to pry with a screwdriver tape the slide near and around the pin with blue painters tape to protect your pistol.

    I used one in September when I bought it and cleaned/oiled it. I just saw rust starting on the slide today. My holster will get mink oil, and I will oil the rest. Thanks for the teardown, it’s what I expected, but I didn’t want to damage anything finding out a detail I missed.

      I bought one for my father as gift because he liked the lcp2 with Lazer but the prices were high so i waited and git one for his next birthday. And he carried it with the foam like holster it came with and i think the summer time working and sweating etc made that holster to moisturize and rusted the slide pretty bad so i noticed it and called them they had me send some pics and they sent me a slide with barrel and guide rail with spring all brand new and ready just needed to be swapped out so that shocked me because i haven't either has my dad ever owned a Ruger so i didn't know what to expect?. And they were great to deal with so i was satisfied especially since it was all free of charge no shipping cost or anything. So salute to Ruger for that so i would just make sure you oil yours every week wether you shit it or not because there coating isn't good at all so they tend to rust very easy so keep it oiled up really well because it takes more oil than other guns because of the coating being so cheap and bad quality. So call them and they probably will send you another slide too?

    Who needs to zoom in on such a precise disassembly of such small parts?

    Could you get the camera any further away so that we can't see what you're doing to that small gun?

    Demonstrating this from such a distance and with a black gun against a person wearing a black shirt sure makes it hard to see what’s going on.

    Gun cleaning videos always show how to brush barrel for 12 minutes then blast through 8 assembly steps .14 seconds each

    Thank you Luke for the video. Oh and greatly appreciated you didn't wear gloves, Those videos are always creepy. The take down looks easy, I found a used LCP II at a local gun shop and going to check it out today.

    Great video but for a beginner, it would be great if you slowed down a little and when through what size brushes, etc. to use.

    Get closer with the camera. I am a new LCP OWNER was not able to see how you disassembled the gun, especially how to get the spring back in place

    Hey I have the same gun and this was my first time cleaning it I’m a little new to this but now the gun is jamming when I load it does anyone know why is it possible it needs more lubrication?

    • @filthyanimal874
      @filthyanimal874 4 роки тому +3

      How is it jamming buddy? Is it failure to feed, failure to extract, or stove piping? These little guns need to be liberally lubricated and are very sensitive to limp wristing. They need a good firm grip when fired or they’ll jam.

      Got to keep oiled alot more than any other guns because there coating isn't good at all so moisture will cause rust very fast. So keep it cleaned alot but keeping rounds in your magazine shouldn't have any issues but if you get moisture and that cause rust inside around your barrel and firing pin?? It could turn out bad for you because guns will explode of there's any type of obstruction in front of the round or firing pin. So just keep it oiled alot and check your rounds daily or every few days to make sure the rounds are not rusted or rust around the firing pin or barrel other than that yes you should be fine to keep rounds in the magazine for periods of time.

    Is it safe to keep a magazine fully loaded for extended periods of time? If you carry a pistol but never fire it, should the magazine be unloaded for a period of time?

    • @Hoppesguncare
      @Hoppesguncare  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Frank, we would suggest you check with the firearm manufacture or magazine manufacture for questions on your specific firearm. Thanks

    • @jamesm7649
      @jamesm7649 2 роки тому +1

      Springs don't wear from staying compressed, they wear from being compressed and uncompressed. So if you are unloading your magazines at the end of the day you are wearing the spring down.
