A music video tribute I made to the masterpiece show The Shield. The theme songs are "Just Another Day" by Vivian Romero, Ernesto Bautista & Rodney Alejandro and "Disarm" by The Smashing Pumpkins.

20 years later and still one of the best fictional stories ever made. This show is a downfall to the dark abyss of human nature
It’s a masterpiece
Loads of people talk about The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Dexter. Nobody ever seems to remember The Shield, which isn't fair. The Shield is fucking excellent.
The shield started it all for cable tv imo
For me personally, none of them EVER measured up to The Shield. Every damn episode I was on the edge of my seat. It went for 7 seasons and it NEVER gotten stale or boring. A masterpiece for the ages. But that's just me..
A show where you have to fight yourself to turn it off is a great show, there was no episode where I was like "lets call it a day", you have to start thinking about turning it off two or three episodes earlier than you plan.
@@gokurippetoe8750 even now, after 20 years, and a dozen viewings, I still stay up later than planned just to “watch one more”.
@@sirbuffalo it has all of the elements of a timeless tragedy. One hundred years from now, people out there would still be drawn to it.
The most underrated show of all time. I will always miss Strike Team.
I don't think a show that won multiple Golden Globes, an Emmy and other awards would be consider underrated. It was the Breaking Bad of its time, everyone talked about it early 2000s dude.
@@Gdawg3213 It only won one Emmy and a Golden Globe just at the first season, The Sopranos was the Breaking Bad of that time, even though The Shield succeeded from the 4th season and beyond.
@@Gdawg3213 The Shield is underrated because It never got the same amount of love as The Sopranos or Breaking Bad from the Critics or especially the award shows. I think a lot of younger people don't bother with it because there have been so many cop shows over the years that The Shield unfairly gets lumped with them.
Better than Breaking Bad, love both shows
Your right a different kind of cop
"Sometimes it's too late to apologize no matter how much you mean it"
This boah lost everything, just for a little muneh. I wish he had a plan.
Best show ever! just completed the entire series for the 2nd time. Vic and Shane are among the greatest characters in tv history.
Jason X Man, shit color lether jackit dudes ain't bad ass ain't cool in real life or on TV. Vic was da man.
And people just don’t understand how good it is!!
Dont you mean cletus van dam
Lem's death was the saddest death of a television character, ever
I remember walking into my bedroom telling my girlfriend that Shane just killed lem , with a speechless look on my face , lol. Forest Whitaker helped make that the best season. Wish they would have ended it with a Dallas style ending, lights go off- gun shot to Vic's head . At that point you would have never known who hated him the most , left up to interpretation, would have made a better ending. Such a great show.
Lem deserved it tho
I just rewatched that scene still hits me in the heart
Nah man Shanes family and his suicide was the saddest moment. Vic being faced with all of it in the interrogation room was intense. Immediately after, Ronny, after being 100% obediently loyal to Vic like a dog in the end gets screwed by Vic. Then loses his family to WitSec. Thats a pretty much garuntee he'll never see his family again. He didn't go to jail but In the end, he's chained to desk. We all know Vic has a plan though the way he pulled the desert eagle out of the lockbox;" by the way he was told he wasn't allowed to carry a weapon anymore". Smiled, waist lined the gun, gave a snarl and went off into the night. Vic has a plan. I think he will bide his time with I.C.E. and use the information he's gathering for ICE to his advantage in the future in some way once his 3 year contract is up. He's already street wise and effective even without a badge. Nah, Vic's story is long from over. When he hits the streets again the only question is will he go down a darker road or be a vigilante type. I'd love a spinoff series.
@@hanschamber4297 Every time we hear the phrase "Family Meeting" uttered now, anywhere, me and my buddy just look at each other...
Greatest show of all time. I buy the series for friends as gifts. They get hooked..
A cop show like the shield would have been banned from fifties tv !!!!!!
It would have been banned from 1980s or even 90s. With the exception of no f-word and no full frontal nudity, it's more graphic even than The Sopranos and other HBO - Showtime series.
the best cop series ever made!!!
That line. ''I've done worse.'' Absolutely perfect lol
This is one of the best tv series ever made it is so underrated this show deserves so much more credit. The show feels so raw it feels like you are part of it when you watch it.
Great tribute to a great show. Rarely do the stars align like they did with "The Shield". Consider the confession scene in "Possible Kill Screen". Probably the best I have ever seen on film or TV - probably will never be equalled. Every single episode of "The Shield" was at least a B+, most were A's and a good number were A+. We won't see the like of that again, but be grateful we did. My only regret is I can't see the whole thing again for the first time.
+Richard Clarke Co-pilot was probably the weakest episode but that had some great moments; Lem moving the crucifix ("Oh, Jesus Christ! God dammit! I mean..") ,and "Ladies love the 'stache".
Man I've never watched it , but I am already hooked , gonna buy the box set
Richard Clarke nope,. co-op it was one of the stronger episodes
The Spread was the worst episode storyline and I Throwback had kind of silly cliche ending too.
MichaelChiklisCares you're absolutely right. It's the worst episode. Everytime I re-watch the whole show, it's the only one I don't
Vic Mackey is one of the best characters of all time across any medium...
Neil Fannin yeah that's right. Without Vic there's no Heisenberg... that's crazy how they have so much things in common... addict to power, destroyed everything around them(family, friends and so many lives) and these roads til the hell they've gotten!!
@@tonycles1702 Hahahaha yeah stfu kid lmao
@@bolg892 why stfu pal?
@@tonycles1702 I'm not sure that I agree with all that, Vic is one of the greatest characters of all time but I don't connect Walter White or BB with The Shield at all.
@@tonycles1702 there wouldn’t be Vic without Tony Soprano!
Absolutely thee best show out there
6 years after this show ended, here am i with this amazing nostalgia and video.
good job @narvinek.
+Tiago Oliveira Very well said.
13 years u mean
@@iwatchfamilyguy lol his comment was 6 years ago 🤡
2:48 time mark, goose bumps. “I don’t step aside, I step up”, kicks in door. Vic Mackey, str8 gangster!
"Whoever fights with monsters should see to it that he does not become a monster in the process. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you."
Just done watching the season 7 finale and that quote to me seems to resonate with Vics character throughout the show.
I dont think we will ever see a TV series as good as this one again.
It’s aged pretty well. It’s a little overacted at times but the show is still amazing.
I am such a huge fan of The Shield. My favorite tv series. Miss it but thanks to DVDs. :)
So I just finished re-watching this show (for like the 4th time.) If this was real life, what is Vic doing now? Did he make the 3 years? Did he end up in jail? Did he get off of desk duty?
Thank God that someone finally made a decent video for this show, your work here is tremendous! Thank you for all the effort you put into this, can't imagine it done better.
The most brilliant tv show ever, with The Wire.
PBZ Definitely..
Far better than "The Wire", maybe the best TV show
@Yosef Meg thank you
My favorite cop show of all time
I don't like cop shows, but The Shield has a certain place in my heart. Strike team forever!
I've never seen it , but I've heard ALOT about it !!! I can't wait to watch it , going to buy the DVD box set , I stopped watching tv ages ago ( no I wasn't living in Mars lol )I guess now it's classic . Cheers

chocodiledundee1 It's on Netflix in my country. You could get a free month if you haven't done that before.
Started to watch last week for the first time , I've got season 4 at the library ... Man this is class ... This is real deal row piece of art ! I am impressed , awesome show , I am hooked already , I love them all , Vic , Shane , Lam , Ronnie . The loyalty Vic showed on Shane helping him with the body of the girl and even helping him coming clean is pretty amazing "We come out all together , or we don't come at all " . Good on ya guys
Shivers down my spine, truly amazing! Hope you'll be making more soon.
never noticed but michael's facial expressions remind me of bruce willis like in die hard... also best fan video ever..needs more views
I just binge watched the show it was amazing. This montage is perfect! Well done
Fantastic editing. Love the part where Vic says he loves his kids, and wants a future for them, as it’s showing him pull off a multimillion dollar heist.
Simply the best show ... period! Does not get the credit it deserves, just finished watching the whole show for the 8th time.
What you are saying is so true man I just finished the whole show for the first time and I am so addicted to the show now such a big fan of the show
@@hamitkastrati4069 yessir what amazes me is that noone and I mean noone back then was watching it other than myself outthere in london. I was 18 at the time in 2002 and in college and even after I told folk about it they still didnt watch it and only watches shows like x files, angel, friends and buffy the vampire slayer lol madness
Vic Mackey was one of the greatest characters ever on TV.
My favorite tv series ever. Love it. Time to rewatch. :)
This is the show that changed my perspective on life and how I respond and react to people who were constantly putting me down and taking advantage, who looked at me as subservient and easy. They're all fucked now. Ha ha ha... "I don't step aside, I step up!"
So sad if you missed this series. One of the best ever done!
msN fraser one of top 5 crime dramas of all time it started it all for for prime time television
I respect the hell out of this tribute. Fantastic work.
Imagine Walter White cooking meth for the Sopranos crew and Vic Mackey + Strike force crew being corrupt for them?
The Perfect Show
I coulndt resist!! after seeing this video IM WATCHING the shield. Mackey is one of the most intimidate cops ever on TV.
Available on Prime. I am watching it again for the 8th time. More than just a show, if you read up on the Rampart Scandal, it just brings even more depth to this show. Truly the best high impact drama I have ever seen. I still keep the fan art desktop backgrounds on my work and personal computers...18 years later, and still pumped every time I see it.
There will never be a cop show this good.
Blue Bloods comes close.
The wire blows both of them out of the water@@kendallrivers1119
Brilliant tribute for an utterly brilliant show. How I miss it. Superb characters
there's a lesson here.
Still my favorite cop show of all time
very very very great video for an amazing tv show 👍👍👍👍
la mejor serie policíaca de toda la historia. I love the shield

Por cierto, te recomiendo Sons of anarchy. No es tan buena como the Shield, pero el creador, que trabajo como guionista y director de algunos capítulos ejem...tomó varias cosas de The Shield jaja. Podríamos decir que están en el mismo 'universo'.
better than The Wire
one of thme best shows i have ever watched
Those back to back editing sequences at 2:54 was insanely good
Great work like always. I really need to watch this show.
You really should. Before Breaking Bad, there was The Shield.
suncore598 agreed,bb and ts best drama ever
In no order
- The Wire
- The Sopranos
- The Shield
- Breaking Bad
- Sons Of Anarchy (now that I'm done with the Sopranos)
I've noticed that there is your third version of the Shield tribute. Not that I'm complaining. Each version is better than the last. I like how this version is more focused on the characters, mostly Vic and his way of seeing the world and himself.
Proud to say I turned a lot of people onto this epic show It had me telling people forget about The Sopranos This is the best show I think its a toss up best character ever Vic Mackey or Tony Soprano
Best Tribute
BEST SHIELD VIDEO ON UA-cam! well done sir!
IMHO the most important line of the series is what Gilroy tells Vic. 1:24-1:35.
Greatest TV show of all time
I NEED a Justified Tribute
Can you make a montage of Vic's hilarious comments throughout the show?
Such an amazing show. Recently binged an Israeli show on Netflix called Fauda that reminds me a lot of the The Shield. The main character definitely has a bit of a Vic Mackey vibe.
Super vidéo, je vais me laisser tenter par cette série.
Best cop drama show ever
PHENOMENAL! Video loved ever second of it! I just got into The Shield & I freaking love it :)
Many would disagree but probably one of the best series by FX
I agree 100%
Best series by any cable network, period.
Man I just found this show last year, never heard about it at all. What a ride.
We need Vic to run the FBI!
AZDuffman be awesome to do a mini series with him running some secret CIA operation
It's a crime that Chiklis only won ONE Emmy for this. He should've had one for every season!
Great tribute, but there wasn't enough Shane, Lem, or Ronnie.
Eziokilla9595 Well i can tell this was more of a Vic Mackey tribute than a tribute about the whole strike team. Since it is titled "I've done worse" which is what Mackey said.
+Eziokilla9595 the other 3 could just as easily get their own. At the end of it looking back, Ronnie had the most impressive transformation.
Still waiting on The Sopranos tribute...
After Parks&Rec and Mad Men! Don't give up :)
Cant wait!
excellent edit, gave me goosebumps!!
Fuck i miss this show.
best tv show out there
Just finished this show. Very sad ending
Really great tribute. Just about to finish another rewatch of the series. This November marks the 10 year anniversary of the finale. This show is criminally underrated, the best cop show that ever was!
George Ray hell yeah It is the best cop show sucks not a lot of people know about this show when I tell people I’m watching the shield they think I’m talking about the fucking tag team in wwe 😂😂
it is good but imho the wire is better
One of my favorite shows, great work, keep up!
Best cop series ever, period!
i loved your early works; the shield, the wire, six feet under, twin peaks... but then, for some reason your voice-over obsession has started and now it's like i'm watching cheesy trailers. i wish you'd go back to basics. your editing and music choice are so powerful that you don't need to use dialogue after dialogue
Best tv show ever,i really miss it.
0:00 I had no idea Best Buy used to look like that.
Hands down the best full drama series on television. This show was well before its time and still holds up as a powerful show to this day.
So I just finished re-watching this show (for like the 4th time.) If this was real life, what is Vic doing now? Did he make the 3 years? Did he end up in jail? Did he get off of desk duty?
Iv watched the whole series 3 times and I can’t wait for a few years to pass just to watch it a 4th time 👍🏻
Me too. I wanna get the blu ray version to watch next time, but I'm trying to wait because some reviews I've read said there were problems with missing scenes or something like that. So I'm hoping that will be corrected eventually, similar to the way the original DVD boxset had some packaging issues that were eventually corrected.
Currently on Season 4, love everything about it! The best show ever!
the feels
The shield opened the door for breaking bad, justified, better call Saul, walking dead for gritty, adult rated R storylines for regular tv. It was the first on television
There is a connection between The Walking Dead and The Shield. Frank Darabont (spelling?) was a guest director in season six. Until then, he’d only been a movie director. He enjoyed working with the crew so much, they joined him when they started The Walking Dead tv show.
Great Fuckin Show!!
Love this show.
So frustrating that the only goodish person goes to jail and the only good one was killed by the most selfish.
"I don't step aside, I step up" Vic was a great character but Shane was my fav. He was the man.
Peter Hoffman I loved Lem. He was the heart of the team.
Vic was the monster, Lem the heart, Shane the emotional trying to be the best son, and Ronnie was the one Who everyone thaught was the kindest but was a monster as well !
Walton Goggins was a revelation.
Shane killed preggo Mara and Jackson
When Shane reacted to killing Lem, Walton Goggins became one of my favorite actors. Him apologizing to Lem as he’s dying is one of the saddest moments on a television show.
Just to follow on all comments below but this was the GREATEST TV SERIES OF ALLLLLL TIME. Just AMAZING. Chiklis performance uncomparable/unbelievable. Lem was favourite character. Walton Goggins playing Shane was absolutely magnificient (particularly towards the end of the show). I hope they come close to making a series as good as this again. Every actor was perfect within their main roles. I am just in awe. Will watch entire series again. RONNIE WAS SCREWEDDDDD Badly......Poor RONNIE (another perfect performance). CCH Pounder and Jay Barnes - both great in their characters. Acevada actor BRILLIANT. Glenn Close had one of the best scenes ever confronting Acevada. Forest Whitaker had a tough role and executed with intensity - brilliant. Casting agent needs a big award also. I can go on and on but this is the best TV show I have ever seen globally. AMAZING....VIC MACKEY in his own words "I WAS TOO GOOD/Outsmarted/out strategised EVERYONE" BRILLIANCE on the small screen.....
Amazing tribute. Perfection. Love it.
we need more cops like vic
greatest cop show ever 💯
Wow, great tribute! Haha, I'd never think Smashing Pumpkins could fit with The Shield, but you made it work.
its the ender of seasons 5 Of Mice and Lem. never gonna listen to disarm again and dont remember The shield and Lem.
The shield, the wire, sopranos and breaking bad. Top 4
I am currently watching this again. Really hard to watch other series in between. Acting, characters, dialogue. Top shelf
This is great!!
Sometimes I come back here to remember what a fucking great show that was
Ughhh i wanna be vic Mackey
john doe Who doesn't?
One of the best shows on TV, tied with Breaking Bad. Incredible!!!!! I've seen it 4 times now, and am still blown away! Brilliant acting- casting- phenomenal characters. Thanks for a great run!!
Without Vic Mckay there's no Heisenberg, you're right they're tied. Addict to power, thinking they're doing good things...
The best and most underrated show of all time. Sweeps walking dead game of thrones by mile. These millennials have no idea what great television is.
Walking dead and game of thrones is way over rated in my opinion
Best show ever.
Please somebody make more of these I'd literally pay for it lol
The only part of the shield story I don't like is that Vic killed Terry.... I feel that was out of character. Vic was so smart he could make people disapear, frame them, disgrace them, etc with other means. Just cold hard murder was not his style.
Freediver HD The effect of Terry's investigation into Vic and his team was creating a disruption in the cohesiveness of Vic's team of rogue cops. Pitching each member against each other. I believe Vic wanted to kill the source of that problem ASAP. Being on a unified front makes Vic's team stronger. Did you also not notice that after Vic committed cold murder, he felt no remorse, no guilt nor shame? He just tilted his head and smiled, still looking bad ass in that cool black leather jacket.
Anyway, Vic slept like a baby after covering it up. Plus, he's all smiles again the next day.
Vic is a gangsta cop pretending to be a good cop.
He kept his crime activities a secret from his wife and kids. If his crimes never caught up with him, his wife and kids would never know their father figure was a cold blooded murderer criminal.
Vic is like a two-sided coin. When he makes a threat, he either carries out that threat or just laugh it off as a joke or a combination of those two(he could laugh it off at first and then wait till the victim's back is turned, and if that happens then Vic could attack his victim).
Chris Lim I have to agree with you. The thing about Vic is that he thinks that everything he does he's doing for the right reasons and throughout the show we see and even come to understand his point of view. But as the saying goes, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." No matter how much good they did, it doesn't change the fact that he and the Strike Team are a bunch of crooked cops. They've stolen, planted evidence, blackmailed, killed(not always in the line of duty), they've worked for criminals and politicians who are just as equally corrupt.
They put themselves in the crosshairs of gangsters, politicians, and other cops.
So Vic ending up behind that desk is exactly the hell he had coming for him.
Vic's definition of "right" is doing whatever is deemed right for him only. To quote verbatim from your comment, whenever Vic talks about doing the right thing, it mostly means "He's stolen, planted evidence, blackmailed, killed(not always in the line of duty), he's worked for criminals and politicians who are just as equally corrupt. He places himself in the crosshairs of gangsters, politicians, and other cops." You nailed it dude! I tuned in weekly to watch this show because of the character Vic. He was my favorite.
Cold hard murder is not his style huh? So why did he torture and shoot Guardo in the head, and kill Margo Dizarian. Vic felt threatened and betrayed by Terry. Honestly trying to do any of the other things you suggested would of been too messy. Especially since Vic was aware others in the department were after him and wouldn't buy Terry Disappearing or being framed. Vic saw an opportunity with Two-Time's raid and made a call him and his team obviously would regret for the rest of their lives. Why else do you think Vic vowed to never have to resort to that ever again? He was ashamed but still felt it was 100% necessary. Vic has his own twisted sense of Justice and what's "right" and that is made fully apparent through out the show; so really it's not out of character at all imo.
Easily the best tribute video for this series, congrats. Maybe it'd be better to remove the warning and the final scene, so I could use it to talk people into watching this incredible series. Outstanding job!
+Konstantinos Daglaroglou still, you can see that Lem is going to die, so...
he should of put SPOILER ALERT IN THE VIDEO , ALL THESE SPOILERS KIND OF RUIN THE WATCHING.
"I've done worse" One of the best lines in the series. If you watched everything before he said it.
Well done!
