Really appreciate how light-hearted this video is as a lot of us will be watching this while approaching the test day and building it up into this insurmountable monster. Nice to be able to laugh about something related to the day 😂
"The one that was made since I was 12." I can't lie that was funny as it's so true. 12 year old me made up such a basic signature and it's too much of a hassle to change it now almost a decade later😅
You know when you're about to go to bed, see a recommended video and think 'ok one more' watched this and now I'm wide awake from laughing my head off lol great video!
@@ginger3532 I passed! Took me 5 tries, but I passed this time with only one fault! - What I found helped me most is I did it in my own car, though I admit I'm lucky to be able to do that. (It's a Fiat 500e, so being electric meant it was easy to get it onto roundabouts without needing a huge gap) My brother is doing it in a VW Caddy because he's a wheelchair user, so I really feel for him lol - I know everyone says to not panic, and it's easier said than done. But if you're prone to anxiety, make sure to take as many meds as you're allowed. (Ask your GP if you're unsure) - Don't hype it up in your head! Your brain will pressure you into feeling stressed and you'll perform badly. It's a trap. Don't fall for it. You can always try again if you fail, it's not as bad as it sounds. - Take it one step at a time. Don't go thinking "Right, just need to pass the test". Take it more slowly than that. Instead, think "Right, the examiner said turn right at the end of the road. I'll approach slowly and take my early observations and patiently wait for a safe gap". They look for safety, not speed. I had to wait a minute or so for a safe gap on my test. Nothing wrong with that. If you can't go, then you can't go. Why rush into danger? - Study the roads near the test centre on Google Maps and practice it if you can. Near my test centre there is a nasty double-mini-roundabout that trips people up all the time. Thanks so much Francis!!!!! Didn’t think I’ll be saying this after seeing so many of the comments where people have passed. After binging your videos I passed first time with one minor! ❤ God bless you thanks so much!
This is super helpful, my test is tomorrow morning and i'm binge watching these!!!!! The comment at 5:16 HILARIOUS you actually cant get a test until 6 months he told no lies 🤣...💜
I wish I had this video for my first test! I was so nervous on how the examiner/test would be, that it completely threw me off- I got to the top of the road, failed & asked to go back as I was in tears 😂😂 I passed yesterday 2nd time, felt so much nicer knowing exactly what was going to happen :)
When I was a driving instructor many moons ago,the first pupil I taught tried to bribe the Examiner! He offered £10,yes just £10! Not even the price of two lessons then!
I did my test recently (14/10) and unfortunately failed. Both my instructor and I felt like it was a very weird test though as we were on the road for over an hour, and was given serious faults for things we thought would have been minors. I also got a minor for stalling even though I didn't. the examiner did state "oh no you didn't stall did you?" which took me back, he later explained that its because I took too long to go into 1st at a T junction, even though there was no gap for me to go into and I was in 1st when there was a safe gap. Overall a weird and unpleasant experience but I'm glad I had it nonetheless. Hoping for a pass on my next test as the examiner did say that the drive was amazing and that I'm a really safe and confident driver. (again, why did I fail then? bit bitter but what can you do)
So I just wanted to ask, with the eyesight test, on very bright days I struggled to read the yellow number plates. Could I ask the examiner which colour plate I want to read from 20m?
Absolutely! Most test centres have a selection of plates hung up with the distance measured. If they use vehicles parked on the street you will be able to ask for a different one if you’re struggling because of colour. Best to let the examiner know you would like a white one in advance. There are lots of reasons people need a specific colour plate and they’re happy to help 😊
@@DrivingSchoolTV ok thank you very much! Yeah I’m not dyslexic or anything but I am very short sighted, so these things do make a difference, even with the correct prescription of glasses!
Soooo, serious question - how exactly does one go about updating their signature on their driving licence from the one they had when they were 12? I've looked into it several times over the last few years and can't really figure it out. Picture update? No problem. Address update? Yep. Signature...? Errrrr
The DVLA recommend picking up a D1 form from the post office. You need to fill out the change of address section and also 'section 7' which is the signature box. They also say to write a note to go with the form just saying that the signature has changed, other wise they may over look it. Also the cost and is free 😊 hope that helps!
@@DrivingSchoolTV so the light was green but I was going around 15/20 towards it and it changed to amber so I carried on. I think may be a bit harsh as was no danger to anyone but could you let me know if this was aloud?
damn yeah that might seem harsh but the meaning of the amber light is stop if its safe so if you could have easily stopped for it they fail you. I've had pupils done on that before it sucks because for most people amber light means send it
I’ve seen examiners accept an expired provisional license. It’s free to renew it though so it’s best to get it done and not take the risk! If you have a valid passport you don’t even need to send in a pic they take it off your passport!
Im still disapointed that i got my theory like im happy but the wait for practical is minimal 20 weeks really is a longg wait Plus i cant even book a practical test in my center for next year in May So i gotta book it in a center further away.
