Forgiveness is not for the suspect but for the victim. He killed him and made not attempt to save him or get him help.

The kids dad is disgusting. What type of parent would be alright with a cop running over their child, throwing the boys body in the back of his car, drove to his mommy lieutenant home, then drove the now dead boy back to the scene of his crime, then lied to his coworkers.

Yeah completely I can’t believe some people are so forgiving. I would say throw away the key. It’s not like I’m afraid of any repercussion.

That, and I am also curious what are the chances you can get struck by a dui when you both are at the wrong place at the wrong time? Was he walking deep on the grass or very close to the driving lane? That seems quite a bit of coincidences. Also, was the deceased also under the influence?

Why was the deceased walking down the New Jersey parkway. That is not a walkway , and at 3am is even weirder. Something doesn’t add up here. How did they prove that they hit the person at that location????? Maybe they hit him crossing a street in town. This is just bizarre

He kills the guy while driving drunk FACT. He puts the body in the trunk of his car FACT. He leaves the scene of an accident FACT.Then after involving his father he brings the body back to the scene of the crime FACT. So we are meant to believe the prosecutor can't prove beyond reasonable doubt that this lowlife is guilty But sees fit to offer a deal of 5 YEARS!!!! And the father gets probation !!!!!. What an absolute joke.

If you don't understand forgiveness, it's time to reconsider what having a crappy father means. I'll explain what your father should have: If you're ever before a judge, know this - forgiveness doesn't cancel out accountability.

That's not true at all. You really should feel ashamed. Forgiveness is about remembering the best of your child, without their memory triggering rage. It's not about the killer's benefit.
