This is bigger then just the one cop. You really think a lowly beat cop had the ability to make the video unavailable. To type up a fake incident report and release it to the media via a FOIA request. Look up Lehto's law. There was a story on Waupaca Wisconsin about the sheriffs department altering incident reports that were used in court. They were being altered after the fact by people who weren't even witness to the incident.

If you're a child molestor, but you act cool and ghetto and dont let nobody mess with you, then your convictions are overlooked There arent as many moral principles these days. Child molestors, cops, etc, are usually picked on because they're just punks and dont have any friends and are generally scared to be among criminals because they're usually not, and this is why they get picked on. He's a prime example of a person who should 'never have a position authority & power'. Very glad justice shut him down. Now we only need the 1000's of other cops out there who have, and are still, committing similar crimes. Eventually the law enforcement and judicial systems won't be so plagued by these creeps. Or not.
All of these bad cops that are now being revealed couldn't have started their policing careers that way. I think it's the unchecked power and authority and the obviously overlooked abuse of that power and authority that allows more rampant bad policing.
Now you know why so many people hate cops...I had a DNR officer lie in court on me, found out he was caught lying in court in another case, he's STILL working at the DNR!
They need to send a message to these officers that if you lie on your report you go to jail for a minimum of 15 years with no early parole! That would stop all this lying and abuse of power. Don’t be a psycho and stop hiring psychos……..

I live in Illinois where it is state law that all law enforcement agencies are required to have body cams, with the exception of federal agents. State law dictates when the cam can be muted/shutdown as well as to how data must be retrieved, stored and the length of time. Other states need to pass laws requiring the same. Cameras are working. Bad cops are getting exposed. And now what we are starting to see is good cops reporting bad cops. Keep the cameras rolling. Always record any encounter with law enforcement. Know, understand and exercise your 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment rights.
Republicans in AZ have introduced a bill that would restrict citizens from filming police officers. We need nationalized and centralized law enforcement reform to ensure our public servants are peace keepers that actually protect and serve. I am saddened when I hear law enforcement state they "work for the city" or whatever entity. Law enforcement officers need supportive policies and practices nationwide that help them maintain their oaths of office. Not having that support is how good officers are lost.

When are these police departments going to realize that covering for bad cops make them look worse. The chief of that station should be prosecuted also for sitting on this information, aiding and abetting a crime
In addition to the corruption of the department and the prosecutor who failed to hold this criminal cop accountable, the officers and the institutions they work for who trained this cop are also equally culpable, because they obviously failed in their duty to properly train cops.
I hope the victim Sue's that ex-cop!!!
It’s got nothing to do with training. Just a criminal having a badge to terrorise innocent people.
@@rd5107 It absolutely has to do with bad training as well. This particular incident highlights a maniac, criminal cop, but how was a criminal like him able to become a cop in the first place? The people who hired him, the people who failed to catch this cop before he could commit his crimes, the people who were responsible for his training, they are all responsible.
It’s a big club,
You ain’t in it citizen !
And let us not forget the Supreme Court which grants law enforcement Qualified Immunity
and no matter what, there are still people who keep supporting these corrupt cops no matter what they do, unbelievable.
Never once mentioned WHY the cop reacted this way...no doubt another non complying criminal...just what they deserve...the coddling left is WHY criminality is out of control.
@@charliesargent6225 no matter what the guy is or has done, he was in handcuffs and already inside the patrol car, like i say, no matter what he was doing or what he did, you can't do that to a person who is handcuffed and inside the vehicle, there is no valid reason to do that, so you are part of the problem if you justify this type of behavior, you cannot justify the unjustifiable, because of people like you the police think they can do whatever they want no matter what and it can't go on like this, they aren't even trained to deal with a mentally ill person, they still tase them, beaten or kill a person without even knowing why they are acting wrongly and if you defend that it's because you are as criminal as them, I have seen many people like you on UA-cam who have changed their way of thinking about the police after having an encounter with them, with this kind of police nobody is ever safe, no matter how good a citizen you are and have always been, some of them will always find a way to make you regret ever crossing paths with them, period.
@@kurupi68 BALONEY...U comply, 99.9% of the time they leave you alone, your assessment is pureBS. No doubt that criminal did something to get that cop to react that way.

That exact situation happens every day in any place that has a police department.
Now imagine how often this happen that the police erase the cams footage and delete the info.
Just imagine all the other cases that still go under the radar?
Thank you for doing this.
Thank you.
1 year is a joke for abuse under color of law
It's starting to become really disturbing to learn that the only thing cops seem to keep getting RIGHT, is doing their jobs WRONG!🤔🤦🤨😒😔👎👌👍✌️
You'd probably do yours wrong if you had one.🤡🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡
IUH OH! Watch put for Brand! Amoral lowlife cop worshiper alert!
I would trust SY-E-DIVINE walking around with a gun more than I would trust a terrorist cop with a pea shooter.
Cops are lowlife evil filth.
There are no exceptions.
We need to permanently disband all police and sheriff departments all for all time.
Say no to terrorists.
@@eliasgerber2203 lmao dumbest shit ever. I'm not a fan of cops we need reform but that concept may be too complicated for you and you misplaced emotions. The person or persons that hid this evidence should now also be charged and fired.
Yeah, outa a cannon!
Scum like that should have there thumbs amputated for first offense that should be the law no excuses
Here it is necessary to take into custody the entire police station
When investigative journalism informs, protects and serves.
Thank you, 11 Alive!
this is a perfect example. police are now fighting to pass a law to make it a crime to film them. we see why they don't like it.
Won't make a difference if the majority of Americans trust police.
Racist Cops! First!
At the bank today and two white women that had been waiting before the rest of us got to cut our line. All 5 of us were white. I jumped on it and started claiming, "white privilege"
Stop waiting for the silliness, initiate it.
They can pass all the laws they want. The 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals covering Georgia has ruled it is a First Amendment right for citizens to record public officials. Without the US Supreme Court intervening, which the court stated last year it won’t take up this case, any laws passed in that District would be deemed unconstitutional. In most Districts, there are rulings for protected 1st Amendment in regards to recording public officials.
But they film arrests and make hit television shows
It’s feels like cops get a one free get out of jail free card. Like they can fuck someone up and then just get fired while the rest of us would catch a charge immediately
Facts, more than one get out free and being fired is like the last thing they get. They’ll usually get paid suspension for a few weeks or some shit
Wait! Soo, Roswell PD thinks it's ok to just keep two sets of books?!
They all do the same thing.
Finally, an action taken against a cop that violated his public trust!
When the supreme court said officers can put there hands on you for public safety. Them touching, hitting people got worse ever sense.
The freedom of information act becomes a joke when things are altered. That’s called a “Cover up!”
Here's the deal (love when cops say that it's usually followed by a violation of rights). The fact he did this was testament to the fact he felt he could do this without consequence. The 3 year cover-up nearly proved this. This wasn't just him. There needs to be a thorough investigation (what a joke) into the department itself. He couldn't have pulled this off by himself. That video was edited by someone other than that officer and whoever did it was given authorization to do so.
Rules for writing police reports
1 Lie
2 Make shit up
3 lie some more
4 Leave out the part where you planted evidence
5 Make up more shit
6 Fuck people over as much as you possibly can

"Another one bites the dust"- Freddie Mercury
Thank you for your work on this story over such a long time. You have given us all a little more freedom and safety.
Please follow up on the FOIA issue. That is a perfect example of what is the norm today and it is one of the most dangerous aspects of the abuse of our government.
Ok, so when will they open the other cases that tyrant was involved in?
Always film law enforcement - they do this stuff and cover it up all of the time. Law enforcement is often a clear and present danger to public safety.
I'm not commenting on the story but its really great to see the station give editors the freedom to have this kind of vfx in a story.
Refreshing to see the media actually uncovering important information instead of regurgitating a narrative. Hats off to investigative journalism... and that officer should face a far more harsh sentence than what he got. At least put him handcuffed in a room with the victim who is armed with a taser and sturdy gloves.
@@ygrittesnow1701 If you have something to say about the video comment on it don't piggyback off other comments. Stand on your own.
@@PaRiaH-YT What could be more vulnerable for a bunch of former cops spending time in general population.
Now this is what I call good investigative reporting.
Shocked that an internal investigation turned up anything .
Only because the police officer admitting on his initial report that he tased and hit a handcuffed man; otherwise, it would be business as usual for Roswell.
So why has the public lost trust and respect in the police. Let me see. If an officer brakes the law the other officers cover it up for them.
The prosecutors and police dept are guilty of withholding evidence.
Do you think the cops trust the public? It goes both ways..... Officer was charged. Next.
That'll do it.

Well they made him and allowed him to be that way
When he gets to prison, and the inmates find out who he is and what he's in for, he's gonna wish he hadn't treated people so poorly. He will definitely get back everything he dished out, and more.
Cops go into protective custody with the baby Rapers and snitches if they went to G.P this shit wouldn't happen so much
none of that happens you dummy. Half the gang leaders in prison are convicted child molestors and rapists and nobody cares these days
Its all about how you carry yourself. If you're a child molestor, but you act cool and ghetto and dont let nobody mess with you, then your convictions are overlooked
There arent as many moral principles these days. Child molestors, cops, etc, are usually picked on because they're just punks and dont have any friends and are generally scared to be among criminals because they're usually not, and this is why they get picked on. Its not because of their charges
But they do get to enjoy food prepared with extra "additives"
2 yr old video. crazy how often i am seeing this sort of thing in 2024.
The "officer" should be in jail.
we need more outcomes like this. If police are held accountable for their bad choices policing in america will be better. Thank god for cameras, and good investigators like Brandon Keith.
joy fills my heart seeing a pig going to prison...........joy joy joy at this cops downfall
He's a prime example of a person who should 'never have a position authority & power'. Very glad justice shut him down. Now we only need the 1000's of other cops out there who have, and are still, committing similar crimes. Eventually the law enforcement and judicial systems won't be so plagued by these creeps. Or not.
Join...show everyone how to do it
All of these bad cops that are now being revealed couldn't have started their policing careers that way. I think it's the unchecked power and authority and the obviously overlooked abuse of that power and authority that allows more rampant bad policing.
All cops are pieces of shit.
U
And all the rioters
Now you know why so many people hate cops...I had a DNR officer lie in court on me, found out he was caught lying in court in another case, he's STILL working at the DNR!
I am not suprised my friend.
Im sure the cops sleep well at night? Someone hates them? Ok........
police going to jail doesnt happen enough in this country
They need to send a message to these officers that if you lie on your report you go to jail for a minimum of 15 years with no early parole! That would stop all this lying and abuse of power. Don’t be a psycho and stop hiring psychos……..
15 years is too long for the taxpayer. 15 days in general population would solve a lot of problems.
15 years is too long. But fired, I say do so without question.

They have the power to ruin innocent peoples lives and to take lives. They should be held to a much higher standard than the rest of the public!
Why does this take so long? I've already seen exactly the same thing happen over and over and these bad cops are still on payroll.
Like I always say, just imagine what they have gotten away with, pure confidence that they will never be reprimanded or held accountable.
I can't get my head around these straight up Star Trek visual effects, when did the news start doing this? Also, obviously this cop is a POS who should be in jail for a long time.
Im sure there are thousands of kids who took graphics design looking for work anywhere they can.
This news agency probably gobbled some up for cheap.
Right! 💯
This reporter and his team did an amazing job!!! ---- I agree with the qualified immunity going away.
It’s not new. It’s just being filmed.
Just imagine all the criminal stuff cops got away with before cameras. And we all are really wondering why cops hate cameras,.
2018 to 2021 3 years? Someone conspired to cover up the violation and that person should also be held accountable. the of IAD, chief or the mayor.
You notice the news went to extreme not to explore that angle...?
2:20 He can never be a police officer in Georgia again. He just needs to move out of state.
I hope the ex officer gets justice served to him while in jail or prison! Oh, and these amazing police plea deals need to be 110% taken away, absolutely sickening what the cops get away with!
The entire department covered for him until they were exposed and had no choice. There were others involved in the cover-up that should also lose their certification. There were a lot more people involved in this than just him. There had to be multiple people above him that knew and hid it from the media and the public.
It’s insane how often nothing ever happens until footage is released to the public.
Just like all jurisdictions of law enforcement… Protect the brotherhood, by all means necessary! These tyrants with badges, hope their misdeeds will go unnoticed, and just fade into eternity.
I always put my punching gloves on before I go for it, and I always make sure no camera is on. This guy was dumb.
The media plays a vital role. We need more reporters like this to hold those in authority to account.
I really appreciate your coverage I'm a subscriber. Please don't lead your stories with, a former police officer. It gives the impression that he used to be a cop years ago. He was a cop when he committed the crime so say it plain. Thank you for your consideration and keep up this great work you're doing.
💯 EXACTLY ETF?
They, and by "they" I mean the brass at the Roswell PD were complicit in the cover-up, so when are charges going to be brought against them?
Never. They protect their own
So sad to know that he's just 1 of many others that are like this, and have their friends and department trying to cover up their disgusting deeds
Good riddens Daniel...

Let me see if I'm correct, this individual tased a handcuffed subject then proceeded to repeatedly punch said cuffed individual and his department and superiors keep this hidden from the public during the trail. After this information coming to light this disgusting disgraceful individual was given 1yr in jail and 5years probation ok. I'm not a person who advocates violence but if someone did this to that piece of shite the attacker would be looking at life imprisonment or the death sentence but now this "officer" will be collecting his pension with no repercussions that sounds like American justice to me.
This is why our forefathers armed us against a standing army. Now known as the police.
Even as they were drafting it they knew it would come.
