The only concern I have with this is the width of the bus bar. I think its gonna create some pretty turbulent flows coming into the intake. It would be cool to see a bus bar that has more laminar flow like the OE Cummins one, but not grenade your engine. Overall its a great less-expensive option to save your engine. Thanks for the video Wade.
@ Please let me know these other options. I have an 2024 and I just found out about this issue. I’m looking for a fix . I’m not looking for high priced fix or do any upgrades that change the stock emissions. This fix was in my price range . Not the $1000 banks .
@@PondstompingAdventures In the same boat here. Also in Alberta (Southern) and have the full banks kit for Gen4. Wondering how it will work this winter.
So i did this kit, but when i put my power wire on i lined it up over one of the intake bolts, well it took about 3 weeks but it shorted off of that bolt, it cooked my power wire from the battery the fusable one and it burnt the end of the wire that attatches to the grid heat bolt there. That metal fitting we bolt down on the wire is about melted in half. For the power wite i think i can clip the end off and just attatch a new one, should i tear it all down again and check the bolt, its gonna be 40 and rain all weekend so i really dont want to if i dont have to. Cant believe i made a mistake like this.
It doesn’t this kit is 100% junk. DO NOT install it on any truck it belongs in the garbage. All that work to do this for same power but still having a nut in the intake that’ll do the same thing. New engine is $10k to replace.
@@michaelbenoit248It doesn’t compare at all. If you’re going to do this to fix factory failure. Spend the $ to do it correctly, with the banks kit. You can tell the quality of this kit by the IKEA style wrench they send with the kit.
Lol looking at this fix verses a real fix that's 200x better from BD the X-FLOW POWER INTAKE ELBOW with the heater element is laughable thank God I got one before the gestapo ruined it as far as the banks kit it just an overpriced gestapo bootlicker kit.

Why, why, why, why won’t Cummins fix this at the factory?

You're welcome.
it blocks your airflow more from the already restrictive heater😅 the concept is good, the execution of the concept is piss poor.
What do you want ?
A blown up engine or restricted air flow ?
I’d choose air flow .
@@RBnly You propose a false dichotomy. There are other options out there.

I did the banks works great on my 2018 3500😊
Great to hear!
Does it work in extremely cold temps. I'm in alberta canada. Minus 40 or below happens. I've got the banks kit, just haven't installed it yet.

Am I better off with this or banks kit?
Both kits are great options, as long as you are taking care of this failure point!
My 22 Ram just had the factory recall for the heater grid I need to find out exactly what that consisted of.
How does this kit compare to banks system?

This is a less expensive kit than the Banks system. This is more of a fix-the-problem kit while the banks kit is a complete upgrade.
I just did this job and it all went back together good. I changed the relay prior to. I'm still throwing the code though. Anyone have ideas?
You throwing a code for the intake heater relay? Check wiring to and from relay.
does it come with the gaskets?
Yes
Would rather run a Banks

so get the banks or BD kit?
