What a beautiful and brilliant creation. The way your brain can imagine and see what crochet an do boggles my mind. During this tutorial I learned a term and that the 1st stitch of an increase is the increase stitch. This is a massive game changer for me. Thanks! It makes me crazy when know it alls tell other they are doing something wrong and can’t do it that way. Well THEY are WRONG because I still get a hat in the end just like them. Na, Na, Na, Na, Na Na!!! So satisfying to say that.
We recently bought our dream home and will not be moving in for some yet. Hubby has given me cart blanche to decorate as I wish (yayyyy, I am so excited) and I am going for a boho feel. These bowls are going to fit in so well! I am just finishing up the last of three different table runners and then it is on to the afghans/throws for the livingroom. If I need a bit of a break while doing them, I think I will make a few bowls in different colour ways depending on the room they will go in. I will finally have my own craft room, so need a bunch of baskets and containers for storage. I do all kinds of crafts, and making as much of our new home’s items as we can, but crochet is my favourite and helps me relax in the evenings. So I am excited to have this pattern. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
I have a gorgeous pattern for a table runner in a book I have. It calls for 9 balls of Aunt Lydia's Fashion Crochet size 3 in tan, but I could only find copper on Amazon in Canada. Blessings to you on your decorating journey.
Your instructions are amazingly clear!! I’ve been crocheting for 55 years and I am still learning things from you. I found myself smacking my forehead and saying that’s why you do that! LOL You are doing a great job! I love your sense of humor and love of cats too. I have two helping yarn chasers myself. Thank you very much !!
This a beautiful and decorative pattern, Mikey. You did a wonderful job in creating it for us. 🤗🤗 When I do rounds for hats, for instance, I just have a sheet of paper and list 1, 2, 3, 4, etc down a column and then tick each number off as I complete that round. It's really made a difference in keeping me on track.
I appreciate your “condescending” remarks!!!! You have given me the gift of education as to WHY we do what we do. I love learning the theory behind the craft and this instruction was sincerely appreciated! Thanks!
The best, most unique basket. Thank you so much for teaching us how to crochet this divine project. I have made two of them to display handmade soap and reduced the size to make a catch-all-basket. You are so fun to listen to and your voice is so pleasant. Love to the kitty 🐈⬛
Currently making baskets for craft room to hold WIPS or scrap yarns. Will be making several large to holds plants with water trays…these are absolutely gorgeous!!! As always Thank you so much for sharing your talent and making it fun!!!❤
5:16 not patronising at all! I’ve been crocheting for several years but not until one of your very clear tutorials recently did I finally work out which is the last and first stitch. Thank you for clarifying!
Loved this !! Took 2 hours and it came out perfect ! It also looks really cute if used as a hat very vintage looking ...just love your tutorials they are very easy to follow thanks agian !!
I really love this basket pattern! How awesome and creative you are Mikey! You make it look so easy! I’m getting back into crocheting after a break. I hope it is easy enough for me. My all time favorite yarn is variegated and this marling technique is very awesome! Thank you for all you do! 😊
I love this so much. I’ve made the small one and now I’m on the large one but I’m running out of yarn. I have no idea the correct way to join yarn. Do you happen to have a tutorial on that? Cheers
I love the way my basket turned out. I did go back and tear out 3 rows off the base down to 10 instead of 13 to make it a little smaller. Going to do the smaller basket next. I wonder how this would turn out with 2 yarn strands that are bulky weight?
HI THERE from B.C Canada I so love this pattern , but I'm having a bit of a problem my work is buckling like a flower lol. should I go up a needle or maybe my yarn is to big, thought I would ask thank you.
Hi again, sorry, I’m making the large bowl now, I’ve done the smaller one and I love it. My question is, if I want to make the sides higher, would I just start at the beginning of the sides again? And do as many rows as I want high or what would you suggest? Thank you so much.
Can I ask how much yarn is required? The pdf gives the length of one ball of roll with it melange, so I wasn’t sure if that’s also the total required or if it actually requires 1,167 yards or something in between? (I’m planning to use other leftover yarns so want to know how much is needed) Thank you!!

You can do that but I won't know when you should stop to suit your wishes. Just do a repeat and see how high it goes and then go from there.

I would like to know, too. I want to make the large size, but not sure I have enough of each of the 3 yarns.
Do you have a recommendation of another yarn that will create the same effect? The recommended yarn is out of stock everywhere I look.
Love it ❤
Any idea about how much yarn this uses, for the large one? I want to give this a go but need to get enough yarn. It looks to beautiful!
If you see the video description, I have the pattern linked there.
How do you manage to crochet with 3 different strands of yarn and keep them from tangling?
You want them to tangle together. That's what marling does. :D
