I've mentioned before how much I love this basket, but I'm currently finishing the last of 8 I've made for Christmas gifts. FINISHING TIP: I absolutely love this basket! On the final round, I did not like the wierd curve between the finishing slip stitch and the handle. So, I slipped stitched the repeat pattern all the way to the handle and it turned out beautifully.

God bless it! I finally found a pattern to adapt to what I want to do next!
I have some cotton jersey knit sheets I'm no longer going to use. (Walmart T-shirt Jersey sheets.) I'm going to cut them into a continuous strip to create t-shirt yarn.
I'm going to increase the base and enlarge the handles appropriately. I may add another slip stich row at the very top for extra strength because I'm making a 100% cotton (and therefore washable) laundry basket! Nothing terribly large, but just big enough to hold about a load and a half. I don't want the contents to get too heavy AND it will allow me to keep on top of my laundry chores!

I’m a longtime lace crocheter (sizes 20-60 thread and 0.6-1.25mm hooks) but I really like this pattern! Your instructions are very clear, and the video is well-made. I can never have enough stash baskets for all my yarns, now that I knit, so I’ll probably be making a lot of these. I might make it in two colors, too. Thanks for a terrific tutorial, Toni!

Thank you so much! I made this using 4 strands of various color scrap yarn. It is sturdy and adorable my granddaughter will love it as one of her Christmas gifts. Oh and I’m going to fill it with Amigurumi kittens. I’m a fifty year crochet veteran. Good easy pattern. Thanks again!

I’ve been trying to crochet a rectangle for so long but I never get it right. Thanks to you showing me how to mark it. So easy now. Thanks to Setta for telling me to find this tutorial. I’ve watch so many other tutorials, but missed this one. Now it’s in my library for ever!

Thanks Toni! I just finished making a basket and I love it!!! I only wish that it was a little deeper so I’ll add a couple rows on the next one that I make. It only took a little less than two skeins of yarn for me because the skeins that I used were 176 yards. Thanks again!
