    I would use a tall glass jar ,and not a big belly one ,for a reason, if you are a little shaky, you will bum it on the side, on the way up , you can dip a longer lure or a float . A two by two inches ideal.The more shorter and the wider it is. The more oxigin it will absorb. Which is not so good for it. Use the seal also.

    Thank you for the very informative video. I just got some of this paint but did not receive the nice instruction sheet you got. I would recommend not storing this in a glass container however. I would drop it. If that is all you have store it in a smaller glass jar so if it does get dropped less is lost and less mess.

    Hi what kicks off kbs is moisture so humidity plays a big factor inthe kbs curing. Drier the climate the better for storing kbs. Love kbs but can’t really use it as the high humidity where I live make it go off real quick no matter how it is stored. 3months and a can is jelly

      Hard to say specifically, I have a jar I've been using for over 2 years now with no issues. I don't use it as frequently as I used to when I just did crankbaits. Swimbaits require more care and KBS doesn't make a product that I like well enough shooting through an auto spray gun. They have a 2 part product called Maxx, but I use Tamco instead. Hope that helps!

    I have a jar that seems liquidy but thick at the same time and I’ve been heating it up a little bit inside a towel warmer to make it more of a liquid but then goes back to semi thick again in a matter of minutes… is it still good if I heat it up more to melt it back to its natural form and then use the paint saver or just trash it and get a new one

    It got cold in my paint booth over winter. The kbs was hard, I went to dip the lure and it was hard. I am presently trying to give it a warm bath in the Mason jar. Have you heard about doing this and does it work? Have you had this to happen before?

    • @Jekyll424

      Generally when it’s hard that’s the end of its life. Any time it gets below 60° for an extended period of time or is exposed to air, this can happen.

    Howdy from Texas Jekyll424, a excellent explanation that’s easy to understand and apply. I was wondering with the prices of glide baits, is there a company you have good results with when buying blanks ? By good results I mean baits that produce a good “S” motion when retrieved. If so who do you recommend for buying blanks from ? Thanks again =):}

    • @Jekyll424
      @Jekyll424  5 років тому

      A lot depends on which style you’re looking for. Longer bodied baits like trout and perch or gill body like a Bull Shooter style. I’ve gotten a few dependable blanks from Shelts over the years, and from Dinger and Cedar Run here in the States. Wherever budget allows I always recommend going with the real deal. But I have bought blanks from the companies I mentioned

      there were a couple of batches about a year and a half ago that had a couple issues. I am seeing some horror stories about KBS being stored improperly even with plastic being applied under the lid. I purchased the 16 oz KBS and a 16 oz Ball mason jar. I will be using the plastic, but do you believe that that the secure locking lid mason jar will be sufficient? Just like anyone else, i don't like throwing money in the trash.

    I just dipped a lure 4 hours ago and it has this little spot where it isn’t drying and it had kinda made a little bump that didn’t level out. Do you know why it would do that? I touched it and it pulled off the excess right now and it leveled itself. Left no finger print. The other two I dipped are good. Do you think it will eventually cure in that spot? Do you absolutely have to wear a respirator mask?
    I have 2 kids under 4. I work from home so they are with me 24/7.
    I wanted to look for something safer than epoxy. I have never used it but I don't want to eve risk it with my kids around.
    Is this the same thing as epoxy when it comes to ppe?

      Yes. Always use a respirator. The vapor is not long lasting, but I strongly encourage you to read MSDS sheets on any product that produces a chemical based odor. Over time ANY clear or Epoxy can cause neurological damage.

      Epoxy is really the poor mans KBS in my minds eye. SprayMax 2K Aerosol is a great spray clear with hardener but you MUST use it all at once because once you mix the hardener in the aerosol can you'll have about 12hrs to use all the clear before it hardens in the can. It runs around $20-$25 a can
