This stuff’s been really popular in the custom fishing lure painting circles for some time. (They dip ‘em) Be warned that if you get any on the lip of the can it will glue the lid on rock solid. I’ve seen guys have to cut or drill the can to get it out. It’s pretty much impervious to most solvents when dry. Seems like it has a real short shelf life as well, a lot of guys shoot some Bloxygen before sealing the can. IIRC it was originally intended to be some sort of concrete sealant and they discovered it sticks to bare metal (and everything else) like crazy. It’s a moisture-cure urethane
Just a tip, all the fishing lure guys usually dip the lures instead of spraying, but the biggest thing with KBS is any air from a not very good sealed can ,WILL DRY IT OUT. they all pour it in a mason jar,, and put a zip lock bag or saran wrap over mouth of jar, then screw on lid, use what amount you need,BUT IMMEDIATELY put plastic back on jar, and screw on lid tightly, many vids out there on how to properly use it
What a result! When my boy's a bit older and I'm better set up for the more hazardous thinners this'll be on the shopping list 👌 It'd be amazing for a rainy diorama, or bot/beast emerging from the sea.
DiamondFinish Clear can be brushed on, rolled on, or even applied using an applicator. Normally it is used on Cars, trucks, motorcycles and even boats to make them look brand new. You simply use it out of the can and do not need to worry about using the thinner as many other clearcoats will. DiamondFinish will also resists heat up to 300 degrees before yellowing, resists acids, salts to name a few and is very flexible. This is the first time I have seen it used on this type of plastic and I agree, it does make them look great. I also agree that using the thinner with the DiamondFinish Clear as you have done for the paint sprayer was a great idea and most likely a requirement, so you do not damage the brush or plug it up while spraying. Thank you for sharing the video.

Looks great
see i love the 2k finish, but its so strong of a smell my wife complains whenever see even sees it out on my table lol thanks for testing out alternatives
This one smells too but not as bad as 2K
Has anyone sanded and buffed this coat? I tried and it stayed somewhat dull.
I never my top coats so maybe someone else can help here
how harsh is the funes and smell to this stuff...I have a good mask..and paint booth...but I have to spray in my room and not outside....will I be able to...thanks...
I also would like to know this👍
I can totally get you zyline for free… theres a drum of it at work.. they wouldnt mind if i grabbed a jar of it.. shipping might be difficult it being flamable lol. Man thats sum realy awesome clear!! I realy wanna paint a model car just like a real car with auto paint and clear!:)
There spray cans suck but the canned stuff like this looks good
NEVER leave oxygen in the can or it will go off. You either need to float something on top of the clear or spray an oxygen blocker in the headspace before closing the can. Letting the whole can go off is an expensive mistake...don't make it.
nice job
nice
Not impressed. Lots of orange peel. Doesn't get that no-polish gloss I get with my usual recipe of clear enamel thinned with cheap lacquer thinner.
Yeeeeeee first
So this isnt a bullshit product? I use acme's finish 1 overall clear for most small jobs but if this stuff is legit im in. 1k paint solves all kinds of problems with where i can spray and ppe i have to use. One of the guys i worked with when i first started out whod just wear a dust mask regardless of what paint type, now has neurogical and parkinsons type issues at 52 years old. His doctor thought he was just a parkinsons victim but the other symptoms had him sent out for more tests and basically he poisoned himself with isocyanates over years by not wearing a mask rated for organic vapors shit is no joke
