Pure speculation. You keep saying, could, may might. You have taken one statement and blown it up out of all proportion. Give us real facts.

He called it a hypothesis. At this stage questions are being formed so that researchers have a direction to start asking good questions. Then the research can start and data can be assimilated. What you want is still being formed and it may take awhile.

They are connected to a larger magma chamber, as well as signs of a large caldera with the islands being on the rim of the caldera

Earth is always changing. We haven't even touched the reality of the power of volcanoes. This has a lot of potential to come true. But when, where is the question.

Post the paper references! You are just spreading rumours otherwise. This is exactly what is wrong with thr general publics access to science nowadays. When you say stuff without back up, you just make thr misinformation problem worse. You dound a study? Post it

The thing is, as long as those peaks are continually emitting small eruptions, it means that pressure is not building up. The two things one has to worry about are a long period of inactivity (in which pressure is building up), or a large eruption that will cause the magma chamber to empty and collapse, creating a Krakatoa-style or Hunga Tonga-style eruption. I think the greatest threat presented by this structure would be a tsunami, not the actual eruption itself.

There's no point in worrying about it since there's absolutely nothing that can be done to stop it. We are, as we have always been and always will be, at the mercy of nature. Just live your life the best you can and don't worry.

I guess the planet is going to blow up so we have to get ourselves to the much safer environment of planet Mars. What would scientists like Dick Dawkins the zoologist do without sci-fi comics and docuseries and the greatest storyteller of all times, Sagans parrot, Neil D. Tyson.

This is a very likey spot for a supervolcano to erupt. If and when that happens you can also expect a mega tsunami to wipe out and inundate the West Coast, and plunge the planet into darkness and continued freezing temperatures and create another ice age.
