The main thing I expect from car reviews is an impression of what it's like driving the thing. Is the suspension firm or soft? How comfortable are the seats? How quiet is the car? What is the infotainment system like to use? Is it well-laid-out and responsive? For EVs how helpful is the car in planning charging stops? How well does the adaptive cruise work? How strong is the regenerative braking and does it bring the car to a complete stop? How good is the braking? You didn't discuss *any* of those things. It sounded like you were just winging the review without a checklist of things to cover. I was very disappointed.

Excellent Volvo review in Barcelona, Spain! Paul, Lauren is awesome. Lauren's knowledge is indicative of perpetual continued success, also captivating and charming. I enjoy Car Coach Reports, detail reviews. ❤

It’s widely known Thor was an impressionist-and with that comment he might like to make an impression on your Viking-helmeted head! All I know is that 1. It’s distinctive, and 2. After a 9-hour flight my buns were screaming “I’m Thor! I’m really Thor!”

Excellent review. One thing. I have a Citroën C4. Have it for several years now and the speed dial is also in the centre and I never found it a problem. You'll just get used to it

Volvo should not have gone with the one-screen solution. It's actually a distraction that prevents a lot of people from noticing all of the clever details in the full interior. I'm glad Lauren said that it has that Volvo feel. I read so many people who project some sort of notion that Volvo is no longer a European car and now is Chinese due to their ownership (not here but elsewhere). And that's not the case. Thankfully, the parent company mostly finances Volvo but Volvo is very much a car whose development is coming out of Sweden.Yes, this particular one is manufactured in China and uses a Geely platform, but beyond that, everything else is traditional Volvo but modernized.
About 2 motors vs. 1. The 1 motor is plenty quick. The 2 motors are overkill. It's not tuned to be a sporty car but more of a cruiser in the Volvo style which means firm but reasonably compliant and the handling isn't sharp like a BMW but it can get around corners pretty well.

We had plan to buy Tesla model Y because of the hopeless indicator design on the model Y Juniper, we decided to buy Volvo ex30

I was thinking of buying a Kona but this informative video changed my mind. I will probably order a Volvo EX30 but I will wait until a head-up display becomes available and I think that will happen quite soon. Everyone complains about the lack of a head-up display, including those who have tested this car in Norway. I guess Volvo takes the criticism about this seriously.
    Greetings from Norway.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Once Volvo makes a decision they tend to stick to it. In the bigger cars, you'll see a driver's display screen but I think Volvo is likely to stick with the one screen and justify it. I think it is a shame and really a bad decision on Volvo's part. There are so many clever details in this car and the interior is stands out in terms of industrial design but the biggest focus people have is the lack of a driver's screen in front of them. Volvo did the car a disservice with this decision.

@@benjaminsmith2287 I hope you are wrong in your assumption but I completely agree with everything you say about the lack of a driver's screen.

Wait, the AWD mode must be used with 80% charge? Does this mean that below 80%charge only the rear wheel motor is active?

Many of the safety features such as the lane keep which is a pain and the first thing I cancel ,are due to E.U. directives.

Fantastic review. I’m so on the fence with this car. I put down a deposit on the Subaru Solterra, but didn’t really like how much it felt like a Toyota. This car is very impressive.

The new Chevy Bolt in 2025 will be competitive. Maybe even a little less expensive because it will get tax incentives where the EX30 built in Belgium and China will have none.

Looks a lot like a Chevy Bolt EUV from the front but at nearly $8K more, it better be a better car. Don't think those range estimates will pan out in the real world, though.
