We truly appreciate you giving us the spotlight, Splattercat! We watched your video and will definitely take the feedback you mentioned in mind as we develop the game further! Hopefully you check out the improvements over time! 😍
I certainly hope you work well with the feedback. I've put Blackout Protocol on my wishlist. I'll be watching feedback. I like the ideas, they just need refinement.
I don't even know how many great games I've gotten thanks to your videos. Probably at least half of my Steam inventory? Just wanted to say thank you for being such a huge advocate of indie games, and for all the countless hours of entertainment.
Yeah, especially love Shadowrun's take on Zombies, they're literally just normal people with a Vampiric Virus. Most are still in control of their faculties but now have a dietary requirement to consume Metahuman flesh or starve.
Splat.. You're a legend. You deliberately trying to help these guys get a broader audience... Last time I recall You mentioned Vampire Survivors and we all know how that developed over time... 😊
Hello everyone, game is out for early access - and after the release with hotfix patches, and update patches, we are cultivating the game to ensure the game is good enough for the core audience who loves games like this. Currently we have feedback related to the difficulty level for solo mode - and working on creating separate solo mode (offline) with adjusted difficulty and optimized selection of Synaptic Enhancements (power ups for the session). Please feel free to join the game and let us know how you like it! Again, thank you so much for Splattercat having this video, it really helped us to gain more players for the release.
The farther into the video I go the more this seems like a loving wink and a nod toward the SCP Foundation. The S2P on Boy Scout's vest is a little on the nose though.
Usually "hardcore" "team" based games like these don't work out very well. You either require a huge playerbase to find enough players to play consistently or you have to try hard with a specific group. Similar issues a Red Solstice game had where as player base dropped "elitists" didn't bother playing with "average" players.
This comment is really cutting the core of the game. As one of devs, I just wanna tell you we are seriously considering this how getting better user experience from this case. Thanks for comment!❤
Im not discouraged Its fine :) I just surprised users including you saw this kinda genre or system exactly the same with me when I participated in first time. lol Anyway Im glad your comment. If there are trite trials in the game industry, Isnt it boring right?
Looks cool! I hope they add a way for it to be played solo though, since I doubt it'll have enough players long term for full lobbies constantly. The aesthetic almost kind of reminds me of The Secret World.
This looks kind of interesting but requiring co-op partners concerns me because in a year or so there will be a fraction of the concurrent player numbers. How will the developers approach that inevitability? Bots? Scale difficulty really well so you can easily solo play?
Love the art style. Too bad there is no solo play option (yet?), as I'm not sure I could deal with the guilt of constantly killing my team...."sorry, sorry, sorry...."
That reloading or lack thereof during rolls and while being attacked is hyper realistic. You have to imagine that in real life you and your buddies would run out of ammo simultaneously at some point whilst engaging a large group of zombies and they would overwhelm you while fiddling with changing a magazine or reloading a shotgun or revolver. It's brutal but it's realistic.
But the game needs to be balanced to be able to survive that initial rush. If most players bounce off hard bc it's only designed for sweatlords... it kind of deserves to die. Games trying to be hyper niche and focus on a dedicated, nonexistent, playbase out of the gate needs to be stomped out hard. There's a reason why the more casual games earn millions. You can hop in and play and actually learn. The games that expect you to instantly have done a dissertation on the game and read all the guides is for only 0.001% of POSSIBLE players. The game needs like a 'story' mode that lets you learn HOW to play and teach you the basics at least. So when you play coop you are NOT trying to learn how to play and failing constantly. There's already a genre/games of that. Souls type. Those players have infinite masochism but are already playing those games near constantly for years. Like a new fps having to beat Cod(wtf sub series title is added on) to be barely able to stay afloat. Madness. Nothing new is going to unseat a titan in one fell swoop. There are loads of opportunity for niche and interesting titles. But thinking the game will have more than a TENTH the starting playerbase without excessive promotion and expansion/dlcs is beyond crazy. Esp with no single player mode. The game needing meta builds and excessive grinding to get vaguely decent chance of clearing a single floor easily is just a massive turn off for many. Let alone the likelihood of the game not living for long enough to be worth the price. Esp for a coop game. If you have to pay like $40+ then it's a ripoff.
Splattercat. You're the reason my wishlist is over 500. Its so bad my friend decided just to give me a Steam giftcard for my birthday because he couldn't figure out which damn game to get me. Stop showing us good stuff.
Wildly unrelated to your video: I've been a long time viewer. We've played a few games on stream together. And you helped me a bunch years ago. Now I come with another life question about geology/archeology. I think I wanna get into it. And I'd love to talk to you about your experiences (besides the one you've told about freaky shit in the desert where you said you felt like you were gunna die lol). Hope you catch this. And I'm so happy you're still making content all these years. When its time for a new game, it's time to see what splatts got going on and light a blunt.
Before the gameplay starts, you're description started to sound like a coop reformat of Area51: Blacksite's multiplayer mode. Such an underrated multiplayer.
Looks fun with lots of different build choices. Though requireing a team to play would be a bit concerning since I would probably be killing my team all the time!
Looks fun and love the art style. Gutted that's it's a co-op game though. The last thing I need is to play with a bunch of sweaty, try hards who sheets on you if you aren't tryharding like them. And the game being influenced by a community committee (apparently) is _a_ _bit_ concerning too. Hmm...
Maybe seeing you are visiting online co op games, aarpgs, and indie studios you could visit Last Epoch, an Aarpg that was developed by a group of fans to begin with and released multiplayer 0.9 a few weeks back and has been doing great in the aarpg community. I know it might not be completely the style of this channel but it's an indie aarpg that's in the conversation alongside D4 and PoE and some big studio names...
The downed teammate happen purely from bullets, it's amazing what people pick up on & what they don't. Depending on the attention to detail skill level they have. Also when u failed to get line of sight on the enemy before that, u didn't realize u could just rotate behind ur teammate. Instead u insisted on hugging that box truck, which was a stupid decision. The game does look like it could be a very good game, if the devs take the critiques from the beta's. Looking forward to the future development gameplay of this game.
Note you can play solo, its jsut you're likely going to get trainwrecked if you do as the balance of the game currently in the test assume basically at least a 2 or 3 person squad I do agree that it feels like you need more ammo
Yeah, that one teammate in the second run seemed like he would probably do okay in a solo run; looks like it may be possible - still not easy, but possible.
Would love a squad based fps zombie/bow game that played similar to Republic Commando. Capcom is already dabbling their toes into fps horror with RE7, so a spin off game featuring OG Umbrella or Blue Umbrella would be interesting.
I was really interested but when I learned that the game is influenced by community committee I became immediately skeptical. That can be a recipe for disaster because players are absolute dog when it comes to creating a coherent and balanced vision. So unless the devs vigorously veto suggestions the game will become a total mess eventually. That is a really double edged sword that they have to wield very carefully.
I'm always very skeptical of these multiplayer only games. They tend to have a very short shelf life and I hate the idea of buying a game and not being able to play it in a year or two, or even less if I'm unlucky.
