Hey! I'm one of the dev of the game. Thanks so much for featuring our game! It's an honor :) Many of us (at the studio) watched your video and we enjoyed it a lot. You have a way to introduce and present things in a very butter smooth way, it's impressive. Lots of love from France
Yeah I remember playing roboquest back when it was in beta and wondering “how have people not Been talking about this?” Glad to see its getting the attention it deserves
Yeah man, literally played since the first version of beta here as well. Will say I am sad since I haven't played the full release since the audio is like GIGGA bugged for me and I don't know how to fix it.
Me and some buds picked it up back then too, blasted through what was available at the time and would occasionally come back for a few runs after a few updates came out. Absolutely blown away by all the new stuff they added in the 1.0 update. Practically doubled the content from the previous version
My friend sold me on Roboquest with "It's like Gunfire Reborn but buttery smooth" and oh boy, been some time since I've played a game with gameplay loop so good I've forgot what time is.
My friends and I played Gunfire Reborn too much for what it was. It was just a small and easy to get into roguelike. Roboquest is objectively a better game, just wish I had the time to play it with friends.
I really prefer Gunfire Reborn's characters and enemy designs, due to the setting in Roboquest everything is the same robot with slight changes in behavior (exception for the bosses perhaps). But yeah, the Roboquest gameplay and soundtrack are just absolutely nuts
@@Excalibaard To be honest from gameplay perspective the designs of the enemies is similar in both games, but yeah, characters in Gunfire feel more customizable than in Roboquest
i think it's so poetic how when the original Doom launched every FPS that followed was called a "Doom Clone" for some time before people came up with the term "FPS", and now, since DOOM 2016 revolutionized again, every FPS with similar gun-play and movement is also called a "Modern Doom Like", amazing.
i dig the typified "doom-clones" when they added another genre like bear in Space w/ comedy and bullet hell to roboquest roguelite borderlands. W-mix genre
My only complaint is that the song XFlash is reserved for the speedrun challange level and you never visit that after finishing it once. But that song goes so hard maaaaaaan. Soundtrack of 2023 for me 100%
I personally wish Guardian had a longer section, either way the game needs a jukebox like Tekken has, where you can choose which song for which section.
@@avalanche4815 Yeah, I wouldn't say no to a third arena. Maybe as something optional? Either way, Guardian is up there with Metal Hero and XFlash as my top 3(don't ask in what order).
I would like to add, hell yeah, this game sound track is fucking amazing. One of the few games I don't put my own music too and just jam with their dynamic music :)
But hes on the side of humanity - maybe he's just a roving sentry turret? Dare I commit maybe a thought crime? "There's nothing inherently wrong with the automatons - they're just socialists, and therefore, evil."
Robots are not inherently undemocratic (hell, we even employ a few, like our sentries and guard dogs). It’s specifically the Automatons that oppose our way of life.
jokes on you bricky, i played this game before they even had all the bosses out, the game is fun as hell but let me tell you one thing, its 100000% more fun with a friend , not only cuz everything is fun with friends..but because having a +1 on your side spawns like 10x more enemies.. and more enemies IS MORE FUN BROTHEEEEEER ( it also makes it harder there for more satesfying..if you play solo you are doing yourself a deservice in fun )
Good man, good man. As someone whose been playing this game since early 2021 you've done this little gem of a game a just service and then some and I thank you deeply for that. Fun Fact: This game's OST is so fire that in the last two years in a row it's scored at least a minimum of 20 out of the 100 spaces in my most played songs on Spotify.
A quick letter of recommendation from someone who has 100% on *Roboquest, PLEASE* try out *Gunfire Reborn!* It is, and I'm not being hyperbolic here, one of the most underrated games out there right now. If you need a quick overview on it, take the Movement & Shooting of Borderlands, slap in the combo's and items of something like Vampire Survivors and then add a Rottweiler that can dual wield miniguns chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO and you have *Gunfire*
Roboquest has more movement, gunfire reborn lets you do some _real_ minmax combo bullshit. I like em both, though I think Gunfire Reborn might have a teeny edge just for having more varied guns and characters with more gimmicks.
@@sebastianturner2458 Couldn’t have put it better myself. While Roboquest is without a shadow of a doubt incredible, the feeling of being able to *ONE SHOT GOD* is just… _Mwah_ *Chefs Kiss*
Problem with gunfire reborn that negates literally every single positive everyone has to say about it: moving feels bad. It's really slow and you constantly feel like you're in the purple GOO from Doom Eternal. Roboquest is how I want it to feel, you know?
@@ryanburke1656 I find this super interesting. Especially since both Doom Eternal and Gunfire have dodge, while Roboquest doesn't. Me and my friends (having played Gunfire first) felt the other way around because of the lack of dodge. Noisecream being part of the soundtrack is a sign of quality for the game. My Friend Pedro, Midnight Fight Express, and RoboQuest. You're gonna be in nirvana when playing.
This is exactly the same sentiment I have, it's great to warm up on the sticks as it's so hectic and for the most part probably has you doing more than most pvps. Great trainer + quality weapons and affixes this is a great game.
Congrats on the mili Brickster! Much deserved and well earned! Here's to another million! I got into this game about a month before you streamed it and was really excited to see you pick it up. I was not disappointed in the review. Great as always!
Man I am so happy that you covered this Bricky. I've been playing from one of the EA builds just waiting for a bigger channel to shed more and more light on this gem of a game that just keeps getting better.
Saw this game on your second channel and its cool to see it getting a full video, any chance we are going to get a disco elysium video in the future? You seemed to really enjoy that game
As a dad with young kids I like that I can get a Doom like gunplay experience but without the aesthetic. Even more so with the co-op component. It's nice to have competent, challenging games that I'm OK with the kids watching and playing, and this seems right up that alley.
My only problem with this game - i don't have friends to close last achievements. Noisecream destroyed my playlist and took a position in its place by the way. Great game.
Congratulations on a million subscribers Bricky, and please take your time on the Mass Effect videos. I think the only person who loves that trilogy more than you is me. I'm happy for you, congratulations!!!
Dude, you gotta try ultrakill next man If you love these doom-like shooter games, then I think it would be cool to see you try it next It's got immense violence AND a sick ass robot mc, check it out sometime
Yes, @Bricky, you did actually sell me on the game at around 1:53 into the video, and I did buy it before listening to everything you have to say about it. Matter of fact, I bought the deluxe edition that includes the soundtrack long before seeing that part in your video where you talk about how much the music slaps!
Fav build by far is with Commando. His shotty ability can be changed to sniper shotty, which does increased crit damage. Then you can get an upgrade that completely removes the cooldown if you get a crit hit. Then you get critical geometry so every crit bounces. You barely need your actually gun at this point
I have been, and I love it! My only two complaints: my brother doesn't have as much time to play as I do, meaning we can't do Brobot shenanigans as often, and I kind of hate there's no progress save system during runs. Its not happened often, but I've had a run lost due to power outages/surges, and it just completely ends the run, like its a game over. I get not all rogue likes can be like Dead Cells, but holy shit that game has so many QOL features, its insane they've not been adopted into the game design as a whole.
I just got this game yesterday and saw that nobody has really covered it extensively yet. Thank you so much for shouting this game out it is SO MUCH FUN!😁
Congrats on 1 million subs bricky! I watched you way back when you you did league content. I used to use your champion main guides to help me learn and pick champs. Now you’re one of my favorite creators hands down for gaming and Warhammer! :D
I played it during Early Access and on launch. I LOVE the game A LOT because I love movement and roguelikes. The only issue I have with the game is that its really easy to unlock everything (30hrs give or take) and I feel like there isn't much replay value afterwards. I just need a lot more content personally. Good thing is that they have an update roadmap so I'm looking forward to all that. Still a solid recommend with a friend to play with!!
Something I'm super surprised you didn't mention by the way that I think is very very VERY worth mentioning is how much the gameplay loop changes as you level up and unlock more accessories, you go from basically a roomba unable to really leave the ground bar just jumping with the occasional railslide. All the way to playing the floor is lava like you were 5 years old on the playground at recess.
I can proudly say I picked up this game very early in the Early Access phase on a whim with a friend and we loved the hell out of the game. Waited for 1.0 and was well worth the wait. The only complaint I have is it lacks the staying power of other roguelikes such as Binding of Isaac, Hades or Dead Cells. I put a few dozen hours in and that was great fun, but not enough build variety to compete with my hundreds of hours in each of the big three roguelikes.
I played this for the first time one hungover morning when I noticed it was on Game Pass after taking a passing interest upon seeing the Steam page. What I was not ready for was for this to become one of my all time favourite games so quickly. It's just everything I've ever wanted in a PvE shooter since I played DOOM Eternal. As for the soundtrack, the last time I entered a level and was left physically slack-jawed by a game's soundtrack was Kadingir Sanctum in DOOM 2016. Energy Center's track Digital Spells is absolutely UNREAL.
Thank you for covering this game played it with a friend when 1.0 came out and we ended up playing till 4am a few too many times lol. Such a fun and refreshing game with an amazing soundtrack to boot!
Oh hell yeah! I've been playing this game since middle of it's Early Access days and I absolutely adore it. The best thing is tho, that as a Doom Eternal and Ultrakill player I can play it as one of those games and feel completely at home, while my buddy who's not good at those types of shooters can play it like roguelike and both types of gameplay are absolutely valid and most importantly FUN. This game trully deserves more love and attention. It's hella good
My favourite part about Roboquest, especially post-Arsenal update, is that the time limit and branching paths reward you with better gear or resources. If you can clear the first half of Ruins under 3 minutes, why not ONLY take the S-rank (which gives you more upgrade points), but also visit the Junkyard for a challenge that will DROWN you in those sweet sweet cells + spice melange to make a legendary? Makes it feel MUCH less of a chore compared, say, to RoR2's Ambry/Void Fields or GR's challenge rooms
This game is such a blast. I picked it up after watching you play it on the second channel. It's quickly become my favorite roguelites along with Wizard of Legend and Enter the Gungeon
Finally someone talks about this beautiful gem. I've been playing it since it came out on gamepass as a preview and happily regrinded it from scratch.( once the full game came out it resetted all my base to zero, understandable since many upgrades changed) It's genuinely that fun. Can't wait for more updates and hopefully some new modes/levels to keep it fresh. Music is baller af .....and above all .... there's a damn Bolter. I think that explains itself
I was going to recommend Gunfire Reborn as well since it's really similar, but then i realized that you could literally swap the background footage with gameplay from said game and it would be te exact same... So yeah, i think you all should give it a try.
After getting the grappling hook and ground-stomp cape, the movement kinda starts to feel like Ultrakill’s (aside from the lack of slam storage and other slam jumps, and having a jetpack), which is a very good thing. You can zip all over the place if you’re good at the game.
Hey Bricky, I found you back in the day thanks to Magikarp/Matt when you were playing league together. Greatly enjoyed your guides back then, and since I also played pretty much every game (aside from Destiny) that you made videos on, I kept on watching and greatly enjoying your content. I want to thank you for 8 great years of videos and showing me lots of great games and to gratulate you for finally getting the 1 million subs. You earned them. Bricky you hack ❤ to many more years I should've listened to your warning in the Outer Wilds Video Why is Warhammer so expensive I hope Matt is doing well Love, a fan
Congrats on the one mil and good on you for shedding light on this beautiful game! The music keeps me going once you get past the initial difficulty curve and more of the permanent upgrades. Heading to PAX East as well tomorrow! If you heading to the PokeCrawl or TennoVIP, I'm probably gonna be the guy twerking after one too many shots.
been playing this game since early beta where weapons had categories you could level points into using. Turned out that system was kinda restrictive so they scrapped it. I'm so happy that you're covering this game it's so good and so underrated, genuinely one of my favorite fps games of all time
I played this game in a convention about indie games in france where the devs are from and got to talk a bit with them while playing. They were clearly very passionnate about their work and i didnt want to stop !
AND let's not forget: - On game pass - Is in fact CROSS PLAY - Has secret areas that HIGHLY reward - And has a great since of humor throughout! (Planet exploding after failing speedrun, for an example)
Will have to pick this up. I remember choosing between Roboquest and Deadlink for my rougelike pick last Summer. I do stand by my pick. Deadlink feels great and plays similar to how you're describing here and I recommend trying it out, it's less boarderlands and higher risk of rain
Glad to see more people talking about Roboquest I got this randomly months ago through a humble bundle month and skimmed over it to randomly redeem it and holy shit what an amazing game with a dope dev team
I ended up trying this with game pass months ago last year even and went honestly shocked it wasn't as big as i felt it should be with how smooth it played and how fast paced it could he
Hell yeah, Roboquest! Bought it a long time ago, back in early access, saw their iteration process, it was very clear how passionate people behind the game are. I'm so glad Bricky is shouting this one out, the game deserves more eyes on it, it's an absolute blast!
Hey Bricky~~~! Remember when you said you’d do Mass Effect retrospectives on the all the games if you got to 1 million~? CUZ I DO!! In all seriousness dude I would PAY you to do all those, and if you don’t remember it was from the COD Ghosts Extinction video you made at the very end with the quote “If we get a million subs I’ll do a retrospective on the Mass Effect series, I don’t think a single one of those videos will be under an hour long.”
watched the video, downloaded the game and already got 5 hours into it. i'm completely hooked. the way the guns feel is just perfect, and it has the perfect challenge for my skill level. the classes also are so varied and all incredibly fun to play. thank you for the recommendation!
Me and my gf been playing this game on and off for some months now and GOD DAMN it's so fun. Buttery smooth gameplay, fun coop and a killer soundtrack. Rogue is by far my best class because weapons do not matter beyond anything that can mark or reduce damage taken.
Been playing this since the beginning of its early access, so glad more people are covering this fantastic game. The devs really deserve it. Thanks brickles!
the buildcrafting capable in this game really opened my eyes to how good the roguelike genre can be when done right. this game is phenomenal and deserves to be played by literally anyone with the ability to buy and play it
Unfortunately Bricky did not cite the music at 15:02 (shame shame) In order of appearance: Metal Hero Higher Cyberwar *one here but cant find probably in volume 3* Nova All of these were produced by Noisecream and they are phenomenal. Go check them out. They did music for My Friend Pedro, and Midnight Fight Express (probably being their best work). So what to take away: 1. Please Bricky cite the music. It goes so hard 2. Buy this game for the music (legit how I discovered this game was through Noisecream) 3. Listen to “Brilliant”, the best music in this game
This game looks incredible It's honestly unfortunate that there's no mod support (and probably will never be) which worries me about the longevity (I like mods in these kinds of games because people are just incredibly talented at finding out ways to improve games to their likings)
Glad to see this get some recognition. Fuckin love this game, i love that it can go from just a chill shoot em up run to legitimately feeling like I'm playing shipment on CoD or an apex match lmaooo
This game is indeed absolutely amazing! I got a key to play this game during early days of the Early Access they done, and even back than it felt just so incredibly smooth! So good in fact that it was one of those games I kept checking up on to see if the full version was out already, and MY GODS was it worth the wait! If you like movement based Retro Shooters and Rogue-lite games you will most likely fall in love with this game just as much!
Roboquest is truly the virtual successor to Enter the Gungeon. From 3rd to 1st person shooting, both with tons of weapons, npcs, enemies and pure fun. What a fantastic game, both of them actually.
I'm going to go do another run I swear to God
Thank you for the video Bricky, Have a good day

It's hella good
Glad to see you cover this game, featuring on this channel should give it the player bump it rightfully deserves.
I'm not a FPS Player at all, but I just tried the demo and I got to say, I get the appeal. It's one of those "one more round" kinda games 😊
I’ve been playing this game since it’s beta! It’s great to see it finally get some love!
Congrates on your Million sub Brick
Bricky talking about playing a game you've finished is Gungeon for me, love that game with a passion and will always play when I'm bored
Bricky you hack ❤
to many more years
I should've listened to your warning in the Outer Wilds Video
Why is Warhammer so expensive
I hope Matt is doing well
Love, a fan
That shock ball was in the original Unreal Tournament, not just 2004. Had so much fun with that game as a kid
Huzzah I have played this!!! I was amazed at how few people were talkin about it good on ya BrickMan
AND let's not forget:
- On game pass
- Is in fact CROSS PLAY
- Has secret areas that HIGHLY reward
- And has a great since of humor throughout! (Planet exploding after failing speedrun, for an example)
Been playing this since first early acess was available, love to see this beauty of a roguelite getting some great notoriety
Will have to pick this up. I remember choosing between Roboquest and Deadlink for my rougelike pick last Summer.
I do stand by my pick. Deadlink feels great and plays similar to how you're describing here and I recommend trying it out, it's less boarderlands and higher risk of rain
9:36 Absolutely loved the “Buddy Holly” guitars for Alt
1:26-1:28, if we are being technical, Korea was a part of Japan at one point. (1910-1945)
Me and my friends basically describe this game to people as gunfire reborn but with a borderlands aesthetic.
Ziggurat my beloved, you return to me in a new sci-fi form but I shall alway recognize you
Glad to see more people talking about Roboquest I got this randomly months ago through a humble bundle month and skimmed over it to randomly redeem it and holy shit what an amazing game with a dope dev team
Played this game since early access. Did not expect you to review it at all. Good to see you like it lmao
I ended up trying this with game pass months ago last year even and went honestly shocked it wasn't as big as i felt it should be with how smooth it played and how fast paced it could he
the brickster doing amazing work as ever!
Hell yeah, Roboquest!
Bought it a long time ago, back in early access, saw their iteration process, it was very clear how passionate people behind the game are.
I'm so glad Bricky is shouting this one out, the game deserves more eyes on it, it's an absolute blast!
Congrats on 1 million subs bricklus
Cant wait for the mass effect vids
Congrats on 1 Million Bricky. I eagerly await the Mass Effect Retrospective
Bravo for the 1M Mr. Bricky(orchid8)!
I didn't even realize you got there. Congratulations to you!
Congrats on the Mil! You definitely deserve it!
Congrats on the Mill Milestone, truly well earned. Also Gunfire Reborn just cries in the corner.
the buildcrafting capable in this game really opened my eyes to how good the roguelike genre can be when done right. this game is phenomenal and deserves to be played by literally anyone with the ability to buy and play it
Congrats on the 1M!!!
Unfortunately Bricky did not cite the music at 15:02 (shame shame)
In order of appearance:
Metal Hero
Higher
Cyberwar
*one here but cant find probably in volume 3*
Nova
All of these were produced by Noisecream and they are phenomenal. Go check them out. They did music for My Friend Pedro, and Midnight Fight Express (probably being their best work).
So what to take away:
1. Please Bricky cite the music. It goes so hard
2. Buy this game for the music (legit how I discovered this game was through Noisecream)
3. Listen to “Brilliant”, the best music in this game
The soundtrack to that game is Hotline Miami levels of phenomenal. Noisecream did a fantastic job.
Congrats to a million subs.
Looking forward to those Mass Effect analyses you promised us yee long ago.
This game looks incredible
It's honestly unfortunate that there's no mod support (and probably will never be) which worries me about the longevity (I like mods in these kinds of games because people are just incredibly talented at finding out ways to improve games to their likings)
Just got the game because of your video and you’re right. HOW DID I NOT HEAR ABOUT THIS GAME FROM ANYONE UNTIL NOW?! Very addictive game
HAPPY 1MILLION BRICKY ! You deserve it
Just want to add, the music is absolutely fantastic, and if you want more of Noisecream's work, check out Midnight Fight Express.
DUDE I WAS LITERALLY THINKING ABOUT WHY YOU HAVENT DONE A ME TRILOGY REVIEW/COVER YET HOLY HELL LETS FUXKIN GO
I played this when it fully launched a few months ago and it's so fun and addicting. The movement/gunplay is so damn smooth
Finally, 1M subs! Bricky you hack! we love you.
Now hand over that ME trilogy review.
Glad to see this get some recognition. Fuckin love this game, i love that it can go from just a chill shoot em up run to legitimately feeling like I'm playing shipment on CoD or an apex match lmaooo
I hope to see you also review Andromeda as well. That would be really cool.
Never thought I'd see Bricky make a Roboquest video, glad this game is getting some well deserved spotlight!
Thank god you found this game, it’s been one of my favourites for a long time
