These are always the best reviews. A lot of the American reviews are a bit too commercial and the English ones are just sarcastic and try to imitate that annoying Top Gear manner of speaking. Autogefuhl gives in depth reviews without the bull crap.

Excellent choice of colour/trim/options Thomas. You have chosen a very classy and quite premium looking package. Interior is not the most dynamic, but the contrast of black gloss with the chrome accents gives the impression of a classy and again quite premium looking interior. I really like the view of the door mirrors from the inside with the blue exterior colour.

Seen one of these today as I was looking for a Leon ST FR, it is a great looking suv.
After look at Octavias the day before, it's very šcoda inside. Which is no bad thing at all.

I've ordered the xcellence with only the upgrade executive in Bila white. Hope it wil be coming in januari. It was a very fine car to drive. More quiet and comfortable in every way than the Golf Variant BMT 1.2 I have now for almost 5 years.

Thank you Thomas. A thorough review. We’re looking at moving on from our 2009 Renault Grand Scenic. We tried a Koleos but it was just too big. I thought the BMW series 2 active tourer looked great but found it rather fidgety and not a brilliant driving position. A 2018 one of these seems the right price. Thanks for explaining all the excellence features which i hope the one we choose will have. Best wishes, Philip

Great review Thomas ! I must admit, is not my favourite compact SUV from the VAG, but it has an excellent blue colour ( I love also the red one) and it has a great mix between alcantara and cloths for the seats. At this moment I prefer the combination 2.0 TDI 190 HP 4X4 and DSG and I'm waiting to see, the review of my favourite biggest compact SUV on the market : The new SKoda Kodiak and the comparison between the them .

Maybe I would prefer the 2.0TSI with 190hp for this car. But I can say that the 1.4TSI is a really comfy and torquey engine!!

here in "ex-yugoslavia" we love only TDI, and the diesel fuel is much cheaper then petrol 0.8 E per L, not many TSI are on the street and its harded to sell it later on

Hi Thomas! You're doing a great job, I love your reviews. I want to ask you this: What do you think that is a good idea to choose a car between Seat Ateca, Skoda Kodiaq or Kia Sportage. I want a family car, with automatic transmission and a relative good fuel consumption. I make around 15.000 km / year. Petrl or dieasel. Thank you very much and I am a fan of you-re channel. Keep up the good work and sorry if my english is a little bad :D ... All the best!
I think jungle green looks best on the Ateca, it's a very beautiful color, doesn't stand out much but it is 'different' enough.

Hi Thomas! Great video, I'm a big fan of the channel. Just a detail, in Spain they call this color MEDITERRANEAN BLUE, the LAVA BLUE is a much more light color, almost a sky blue

I ordered one in that SamoaOrange, I love it! I ordered it with the Xcellence pack (full option) with brown leather seat and the exclusive rims. I can't wait :-)
Why? Toyota RAV4 has a more efficient drive traine.
@@dragospahontu Make sure to buy that one then! I was perfectly happy with my Seat! I did sell it after four yrs. Because i'm on the lookout to something different. I sell my cars every four to five yrs. I having a difficult time now with all the "electric" cars coming up. Not sure what my next buy will be.
Also i do like the looks of the Seat Ateca a bit better, but that's personal of course.
@@DBLCreations Although ioniq 5 and ld3 & id 4 have batteries from SK ionvation, ioniq 5 has the silicon carbide inverter and are very efficient, on 800v. id is shit when charging in winter with small and medium battery.
If you want an electric car that isn't a Tesla, Kia/Hyundai is you're best bet but I wouldn't buy an EV in the next 20 years because they have a long way to go.
@@dragospahontu Yeah i know, it's just with all the regulations in Europe that it's becoming difficult. Honestly, i'm just looking at Audi at this moment, i really like their design of cars. I like VW as well but it's all about preference of course.

we do already the 1.0TSI and it drives great! better than the 1.2TSI Altea XL, our car before... the motor sound is fantastic, also the performance and fuel consumption.
it is our 2nd car, besides an A4 avant (2013), and we are totally happy with it :-)

yes, die day2day driving it is absolutely perfect. we selected "style" plus a big package (Austria) plus a few things more and that was perfect...
forgot to write: the smalest engine also is the lightest car. so the overall weight is about 1.285kg and therefore it is really good to drive :-)

Great review as always, thank you Thomas. I was also delighted to hear that you ride downhill! Is the Ateca a car you would consider personally as a daily driver (70km daily commute) for a downhiller with (not yet) one kid? I'd probably go for the 190hp Diesel since the smaller one will not be avilable until Q2 2017.
:-) that should work ! Ofc you have to demount the front tyre but that will be fine then. To be honest, I once put the bike in a Seat Ibiza Cupra :DD (did work with half of the bike in the back of the front seat)
Super review as usual Thomas. I've got my 1.4 Xcellence in Samoa Orange ordered, hoping for delivery in November. Do you know if they all come with an electric tailgate or is it just when you add the optional virtual pedal?
thanks Stuart! Electric Tailgate is optional. As for me, I would always pick the manual one, because if you put stuff in the rear (e.g. mountainbike) the electric close could force-close-damage something

You should include an index as you do sometimes in other videos. Sometimes the videos seems too long for me and I want to speed ahead. Nothing against you...love the car, by the way. I want it!!

I cast the youtube videos to my television so that's why I can't scroll through the video looking at the thumbnail view while scrolling. I have to start moving the scroller to more or less know where I want to go and move back and forth.
I really like the color, but isn't it mediterranean blue rather than lava blue?
Hi Stefan, finally a proper review - thank you for that! I ordered 1.4tsi DSG 4WD version in Nevada white, 19", sunroof etc.
In my opinion 1.4tsi is a better choice as 2.0tdi is noisy and the consumption is not that different. Diesel is not worth it if you live and drive daily in a city. Also based on the tests that I have seen 2.0tdi is heavier. 1,4tsi Fwd with 18" should be the best option though.
Also 1 remark to 0-100km/h - 8,5 is great - just look at the other cars like Tucson, Kadjar, Quasquai - they are all much less powerful :-)

Does the Ateca 2.0TDI FR Sport DSG have the DQ500?
I'd be keen to understand the main differences between the VW R-Line trim/range and the Seat Xcellence trim/range. As far as I can tell Adaptive Cruise is standard on R-Line but optional on the Seat equivalent. Great review nonetheless!
thanks! Xcellence is more a luxury line, R-Line more a sporty one. FR would be the equivalent at Seat. That one does not exist for the Ateca yet

Is it lava blue? Yes! And I too was surprised when mine was delivered, since the catalogue shows a much lighter shade. Nice colour, though. Mine is a 190 TDI with, of course, a DSG box. My previous car was a 130 TDI old model Tiguan Escape, and I was immediately struck by how much more agile, sharp handling and refined the Ateca is. It’s also a lot faster, even left in Eco mode, and significantly more economical, despite having almost 50% more power. I’ve owned the car for over two years now, and love it.

Hi Thomas, Since Both Seat leon 5 dr and Seat Ateca relatively start at same price, which one would you recommend the most? I am aware that its a comparison between Hatchback Vs SUV but which is more fun to drive , practical and over all better between two?

Hi Thomas are you allowed to give your opinion on the difference between the Seat Ateca or the Vauxhall Grandland X.ive watched your reviews, and as usual im very impressed.
My main reason for asking you this question, is that when you carried out the review on the Grandland X Automatic gear box, you weren't sure if it was the best or words to that effect.As it won't select the gear u want, unless you take your foot off the brake to make your selection then put it back on ti the brake again.
That would put me off, as surely it should be the same as the Moka and the new Suv.that they've now introduced on to the market.Is it the Crossland X.car.? Thank you in advance.👍
If you want something that is well built buy a Honda CR-V. It has a beautiful naturally aspirated engine with an efficient hybrid system.
It gets 3.4L/100km in the city! TSI gets 11L/100km!!!
hi Tom, did but hear anything about the color or read it in the comments: is this lava blue? my wife decided to buy the metallic white one, because there have been no other live pictures out in June (when we ordered). but we added the chrome front and back with the blue line and blue side screens, do it looks cool never the less ;-)

Hmm, I feel like it's been a long while since we've seen a new Seat. Good to see they are still trying. Although it will take more than this.
In a webitem of Autoweek (Dutch Autobild) not too long ago, the journalists were asked if they really had to pick one brand to not exist anymore which one would it be. Both of them picked Seat. Pity, because they brought great designs in the '00s. I wonder why they stopped doing the artsy stuff and became a general brand that really doesn't seem to add anything to VAG.
They should go head to head with the likes of Citroën imho, and aim at design. Because right now, I'm not sure what the added value is next to Škoda. This review shows that they can make very decent cars, so it's a pity that in a lot of countries the sales have been decimated and most people don't even consider the brand when buying a car.

Hi Thomas, great in-depth review as always. Between Kadjar (Icon 1.5 dCi EDC 110bg) and Ateca (Xcellence 1.6 TDI 115bg) which one you would pick? By the way I would pick the red color for both :D

Yes I did, and I even test drived the Kadjar but now Ateca seems like better than Kadjar. Only downside is that Ateca 1.6 TDI is not offered with DSG and TSI consumption will be an expensive option for me (fuel prices in Turkey is crazy, diesel is much cheaper).

Bi-Xenon already offer good performance ...
It depends on their construction. Some LEDs are good, some are bad. Some xenons are good, some are bad. Unfortunately Seat's LEDs are pretty bad. In the Leon halogens are better than LEDs...

If you could choose between Ateca and Mazda cx-3 which one would you go for?
The CX 3 is smaller. The better comparison is between the Ateca and the CX 5.
Thomas, I know that you preferred TSI, but I am in need for TDI 150hp because I do a lot of daily autobahn distance, traveling a lot, and my family is 1000km from where I am living.
So next week I should order Ateca 2.0TDI 150hp, but I am little concerned that it is a bit noisy and not so smooth.
What do you think, I would appreciate your answer. tnx

@@Orimedis 1.4 is a deadly engine. Honda has a good 1.5 182hp. But O would stick to a naturally aspirated engine from Toyota, like 2.0 with hybrid.
