This argument about " mob behavior' is the common rant of anyone who cannot distinguish between legitimate civil disobedience, the role of grassroots rebellion, our original revolution, the fight against fascism in WWII, union strikes, and the cops beating up peaceful protestors.
It also argues against the thread of these texts that says that each person needs to acknowledge their own participation as a decision made and needing accountability for this.

“I’m kind of done with the racial part of this” I think he was more afraid of being vilified than trying to follow her logic about what trump led him to believe, which was that the black vote was illegitimate because it wouldn’t make sense for more black people to vote for Biden than Obama, particularly over trump. She was to me very clearly trying to show him the gray area in his logic that led him to be manipulated and misled, and he was so vicerally afraid of the media painting him out to be a revisit that he wouldn’t even interact with it, which to me is exactly why he got conned in the first place, lacking logical follow through. I know after being taken for a ride anyone is untrusting of everyone including and especially media outlets, but I wish he just would pause for a moment to consider it, he didn’t need to instinctively agree but I wish he just stopped to think for a moment instead of being waterproof to the idea that Trump made him target black people because trump knew he wouldn’t know enough about them to dispute claims he trusted. It’s s easy as he trusted his candidate mood than the demographic. People on either side of the political spectrum fall for this when they want to inherently trust a figurehead instead of do their own research. I’m in California and I hear from liberals sometimes that say, Texans dont know enough about politics to vote in their own interests, when I know that Texas has big problems with corruption and a lot of its citizens don’t fully agree with what goes on there. A lot of lower class people of all states are beholden to whatever policy the latest benefactors of their state believe is the direction their state should move toward. Ex: all the money being eaten up by corruption instead of going to working class people, no matter the political party.

I have lived & voted in Georgia for years. I don't believe his statements. I don't believe HE believes his statements. Regardless of his weak denial, he's still a "cult" member. And, yes, he's racist- as his quote bears out.
Here are some facts for him:
- Not all Democrats are black.
- Not all Democrats live in Fulton County.
- Thousands of Georgia Republicans refused to vote for Trump in 2020. They may have voted for Biden, but they will tell you it wasn't a vote for Biden- their vote was AGAINST Trump; big difference.
- Blacks are not too stupid or lazy to arrange to vote by absentee ballot (he didn't say those words, but that's what he meant). Yes, that makes him a racist.
- The thousands of votes that Trump & his Republican cohorts claimed "just magically appeared overnight on voting day" that "had to have been fraudulent"?
Those votes that "magically appeared on election day" were absentee ballots. (Remember, we were in the throes of a nationwide pandemic during the 2020 election.) Georgia law specifically states that absentee ballots must be collected, held and cannot be counted until election day. THAT'S WHY thousands of votes came in on election day. Obviously the majority of absentee ballots were Biden votes. Again, we had a record breaking voter turnout- whether it was in person or absentee ballot. Both were perfectly legal, no matter what Trump & his followers say.
- I especially do not believe his quote that " when I went to vote, there were only a couple of cars there." No matter where (what county) you go to vote in the metro Atlanta area, the parking lots are full & you have to wait for a space to park. Doesn't matter if you go 1st thing, in the middle of the day, or at end of voting hours.
So, yes, Georgia DID have record high turnout in most counties. He, like Trump, just doesn't want to believe it. But, it's still true.
- He was defensive, didn't man up & take responsibility for his actions, didn't say "I was wrong". Who does that sound like? Here's hint: Trump.

They are lacking something mentally that other people have that instantly tells them to discard information as wrong, untrue or manufactured. When I first heard Trump was running, I couldn't believe that he would make it to the debates, much less win the candidacy. I also knew it was over when we ended up running Clinton. I'm just happy she didn't make it through again. I would have preferred a Sanders vs Trump in both elections. I know plenty of people who would have voted Bernie Sanders had he been on the ballot. It's not all cut and dry, people can be quite fickle. Just because I was a Bernie supporter doesn't mean I couldn't see enough people willing to vote against what he stood for.

This was hard to watch. On multiple levels,
Blacks voted early...and told each other...."vote early and bring a few friends." Didn't wait for election day...the first day of early voting, we went by car-fulls to the board of elections. The main message was "doesn't matter who you vote for, just don't vote for Trump." Every one voted for " not Trump" and that's how Biden became president. Biden might not be the greatest choice, but he's not Trump.
