I am recovering from vascular occlusion.. I had filler injected on my nasiolabial folds on Monday, my left side started to feel weird when I got home.. my skin started to become bruised but not a normal bruise it was like laces and spots and was moving to the other side of my face.. next day I informed the dr. and the rest has been extremely painful and scary.. for the past three days they injected my face tens of times without any lidocaine or numbing cream.. it was a torture and the most painful experience of my life 😭 but thanks God it did not lead to necrosis 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I came here after listening to a video where a nurse occluded a patients nose vein then as the pt screamed she processed to say that it was okay and it was normal and left patient blind in one eye.
Methylene blue acts as oxygen in cases of lower blood flow and has been studied for stroke and was used in cyanide poisoning. Why not use methylene blue? It even absorbed through typical application
So I will assume a blood derivative like PRP or PRF is totally safe if accidentally injected it into a vessel? It’s the dermal fillers that can lead to an occlusion and necrosis.
I got chin filler about a month ago, yesterday I noticed a small blue mark on the chin, why is that? Is it just miscolour or can it be something more serious? I get scared when I hear about these side effect :((
If the filler is injected too shallow into the skin, it can cause discoloration in the area. This means that you can actually see the product underneath the skin, usually seen as a blue discoloration.
No vessel occlusion isn’t a risk of PDO but there are Different risks mainly caused by trauma. Salivary gland injury, nerve damage etc Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
@@brendadonnello679 if botox goes into a blood vessel inadvertently, there will be a subclinical general effect as it will simply go around the whole bloodstream. The dose is too small to worry about though. And obviously where you injected, there will be no effect on the muscle as it's all gone!
@@zinagrillo1 I've put a little bit of filler around my mouth and a little bit in my lips and it went OK... @@Seductive_Psycho me too. I do everything else myself but cannot bring myself to do dermal fillers. Using a cannula, have dissolver on hand and be slow. Most importantly aspirate and know your anatomy.
Did my lips lost capillary return things went white then purple .. no one could help me didn’t have any kind of dissolver. Used a little infrared/radio frequency machine and hot and cold compresses and scared the hell out of myself The hospital didn’t know what to do I think I got very lucky and just hit and filled a small vein or something. Never again.

Goodness, poor you. I'm glad it was promptly treated. Hope you are fine now.
What a disaster, I hope they’re.. paying for their mistake
I heard that there is a vessel xray machine, they use it to avoid complications before injecting the filler specialy nasolabial folds and under eyes.
Shouldn’t all drs use ultrasound just to be 100% certain that they are not injecting EVER into a vein/vessel?

Excellent video. Very very informative

What about lip filler with autologous fat ? I´m very scared of blindness
How long after could it happen?could it start happening after a week,or longer?
No almost always happens immediately
nella glabella rischioso ma nel mezzo della fronte non ci sono più di tanto le vene nel mezzo della fronte
Still scares the life out of me though!
What are your thoughts on using PRF instead of traditional filler to avoid occlusion?
PRF can not be compared with traditional fillers ( HA) < If the patient need volume the only way to obtain it is to use fillers.
Excellent video! Thanks so much!!
What about EZgel PRF filler?
can rejuran cause vo if it is not a filler?
Important video!
I wanted to have chin fillers but now i am scared my dr said blindness wont occur and now i am confused
It's so incredibly unlikely that it is reasonable to say it won't happen from chin fillers.
@@DrTimPearce so i can go for it without any worry?
Or is there any other option to ensure it wont happen pls helpp
Depending on your anatomy you can have Botox in the chin ! Depending if the injector is advanced toxin trained

Do PDO threads have the same risk ?

@@DrTimPearce thank you for your answer and your time here
Very much appreciated
Hyalase has to be injected in a vessel that’s suspected to be occluded or injecting in that area will be beneficial?
Yes
Is this a safety concern for Botox only in the Glabella and procerus or anywhere in face?
This is a complication for dermal filler. Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
Yes I was confused and I didn’t understand if it was a complication for Fillers or Botox?
Thank you for your response!

I've been doing mine myself and these videos are starting to scare me from doing it
I was thinking about doing mine, I’ve been researching this for months, but after watching this - im like 😳

OK I am a bit confused now. Is vascular occlusion just talking about a filler blocking an artery or are we actually including veins too? Thank you. xo
It's both technically, but arteries are far more significant. Venous occlusion is much less likely to cause necrosis.
@@DrTimPearce Thank you so much for helping me understand. xo
any kind of blood vessel (artery or vein) that is injected with fillers has the risk to be occluded
