Thank you for sharing what a brave, strong and kind person Alisa was with all of us and I hope so much there will be justice for her one day. My heart broke to a million pieces when I saw the title of this video but I believe anyone who's had a chance to hear your side of the story can see things for what they truly are. Alissa's dad was obsessed with her. She belonged to him in his mind. No doubt he was abusing her. The boyfriend was in the way. Her resistance triggered him. He was also giving everything to Sarah to keep her out of the way and to poison her opinion. So glad she was able to see through his BS and is so strong now.

You fought like hell for Alissa and I know that she’s looking down on you and is so proud. Because you’ve really touched the lives of millions of people the way you’ve fought for her. He may be out of prison, now have a UA-cam channel, blah blah but when he is on his deathbed and after, he will be suffering. Alissa didn’t deserve what happened to her but she did deserve you being her sister. She couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you Sarah for speaking up for Alissa and for other victims. Unfortunately when someone has been acquitted of a crime, to get another trial for him would risk double jeopardy. IF they were able to get another trial and he was to be convicted, it could very well be overturned on appeal due to the double jeopardy rule, sadly we may never see real justice on this case because of it.

Many things about this case make my blood boil, but one of the things that makes me the most mad is the lack of reporting by Alissa’s teacher. I’m a teacher. If any one of my students ever said they were being abused like that, I’d be on the phone with DCF IMMEDIATELY. The fact that teachers are legally mandated reporters just makes me sick. You don’t get to decide if the kid is telling the truth, that’s for the experts to decide. But you HAVE to report it! Were things so drastically different in 2001? Alissa's teacher and the principle spoke with Alissa and reached independent conclusions, it never occurred, and part of what Alissa told the teachers son, was added by him because he didnt like his mother's relationship with me. The teacher helped continuously with my two girls for several years becoming familiar with Alissa and how she expressed herself. The "EXPERTS" for the state of Arizona did interview Alissa and Sarah multiple times unfounding vicious all hateful superstition rumors. I have compassion and empathy for all the females who experienced alleged sexual abuse at the hands of an adult, however that does not mean all males sexually abuse their daughters, even adopted ones like Alissa. Sigmund Freud wrote: "all fathers harbor incestual feelings toward their daughters." That was rejected by society back in the 1800's and should be now. Unfortunately idiots onabee like you promote this hateful superstition to the level of innocent people going and at times dying in jail. Michael Roy Turney

she exploited female hate from bad experiences with bad males in their past, which does not exemplify all males and certainly never happened to Alissa or Sarah, which is what Sarah stated in 2008, as she never saw nor heard anything, even when just the 3 of use lived together. PPD coached her to change her story for the trial, which two public defenders exposed as Maricopa county used their most experienced and successful prosecutor, Imbardino who also lied to the grand jury and was exposed, but Arizona government refuses to prosecute. WOW! didn't. expect that? kept from the audience of ABC and NBC peacock. The news entertainers at NBC just made more money exploiting low IQ female radicals. MRT

This case gave me chills. It reminded me too much of "sleeping murder" from Agatha Christie. In that story it was the stepbrother being weird and overprotective and ultimately murdering her when he realized that she would never "love him back" and that she loved her husband.
Then he made it appear as if she ran away with someone. Only the memories of her stepdaughter, a little child at the time of murder who witnessed it and starts to remember 20 years later when she comes upon the house where it happened.

Sarah, I am so sorry for what you have had to go through. I can’t even imagine losing my sister and then having to go against my father. You are so brave and you are such an inspiring person. I’m glad on the bad days you have people who love you to lift you up. Thank you Kendall for giving Sarah a platform to share her story. Sarah I am so proud of you and I hope you continue to fall in love with life again. Much love to both of you ladies!💕

I would like to understand why the case wasn't dismissed "without prejudice" instead - so he could be retried if other evidence ever comes to light?
I'm saddened that a full trial (with COMPETENT Prosecutors!) wasn't allowed. This case wasn't a slam dunk, but by jove Alissa would have had a shot at justice.
BUT. How utterly phenomenal that one person, untried and so young could fight so hard, and get so much social media/MSM attention to drive a case all the way to Court!!!
We may not have legal Justice - but we ALL know what he did to Alissa. He has nowhere to hide.
    Bravo, @SarahTurney! 👏
You have done your well loved sister proud 💐💜
From one little sister to another: This is a victory, feel proud of that - feel peace; the war goes on 💪
(ps: Sarah, try contacting University/College Archaeological lecturers - they may be willing to send students with the GPR equipment as good training u for 'digs'?)

Hey Sarah! I totally agree with you I think the Justice system is so messed up! I sat on a murder trial and they kept so much information out that it hurt the end results! I found out so much more after the trial was over and that made a huge impact on how it was handled.

Voices for Justice is an incredible platform.
I started listening a couple years back. Like a lot of people - I think - I started listening with the most recent episode, and worked my way back. As I listened - as we all do I suppose - I felt a connection with the presenter. In this case it was Sarah's kind, balanced, gentle, insightful, careful, respectful, and dedicated repoting that pulled me in.
It was clear there was real empathy there.
So, as I worked my way all the way back, and found myself at the begining, it took me an episode or two to really put together that my new favorite 'true crime' 'host'...was actually a survivor and a fighter, a key player in one of the biggest cases of the decade.
I was blown away. I LITERALLY HAD TO PULL THE CAR OVER WHEN I REALIZED.
Sarah is the perfect kind of hero. The kind who hates that label.
Just a rare and lovely champion for whats right in the world.
    Love from Detroit.

Finally watching. This case breaks my heart. I’m about the same age as Alissa, I live in the Phoenix area now. I’m unfortunately not surprised that the criminal justice system completely failed Alissa. I work in the legal field but won’t touch criminal work because it’s just so disheartening. Sarah is so strong and such a warrior and she undoubtedly did everything possible and Alissa would be so proud and grateful for all your efforts. ❤
