Jimmy is such a beautiful man at 70. amazing skin, brilliant white hair, still has the aura of a rock God with so much grace about him
He looks great for 70 years old, especially considering his past substance abuse. Truly a gentleman and a genius.
keefriff99 agreed x20. Amazing human being.
I just love how he is so passionate about music in general. And he is still so darn handsome!..That smile!
This interview format really seems to suit Jimmy. He's relaxed and thoughtful, in short, Jimmy at his best, well done!
A musical icon.
A fine gentleman.
Enjoy your 'golden years', Master.
Best Jimmy Page interview ! Very articulate intelligent man
I love how he mentions Gilmour when character comes up. As a huge Page and Gilmour fan its cool to see Page mention him obviously eluding to his characteristically emotional playing.
Spot on brother.
eluding?
10:46 is the timestamp, for those wondering
Such a talented, humble, classy, and handsome gent. Wish I could meet him and tell him how much his music has enriched my life...but then again I'm sure he's heard that a million times.
Just the greatest rock star there ever was or ever will be
I had never considered myself a super-fan of anything before I came across Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. I Immediately started practicing for hours on end in my room after hearing the mother ship album on a road trip to Florida. This changed my whole perspective on what music I wanted to listen to, and play. Which eventually turned me on to the blues (Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf etc..) and even jazz. Right now quite taken with the Bossa Nova.(Antonio Carlos Jobim "Wave" plus Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto "Girl from Ipanema.") I was 18 at the time, I am now 21 and heading off to St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia in the fall to fulfill my dream of becoming a legitimate musician and performer. I have the utmost respect for all four members of the band, and I would not be running down the dream I have chosen without them. I am forever in their debt and will never forget the impact these four have had on my life.
i feel ur passion. all 4 r my idols & the main reason y i hope to someday put a band of fantastic musicians together & get a recording contract. good luck w/ur dream & may u go far.
Thanks brother, godspeed to you as well! Remember to practice theory, ear training, and sight reading there is no better way to uncover all the gray areas of music and is how you get ahead of the rest.
I feel exactly the same!
Me too man ! Me too ... Tears To learn This words
The most beautiful green eyes, is adorable !
Jimmy is such a wonderful person, so humble and so positive and optimistic....especially for the greatest guitar player of all time that's still alive. God bless you Jimmy.
I love his voice. Love you forever, Jimmy. Janis, Singapore
mr page was always at the top in my book for a least 50 years
Been madly in love with him for over 40 years.
I will always adore this man for what he has contributed to rock! There is no one else with the same style and he loves playing. I think seeing such passion in his play, his words and his twinkle of the eye, is just always to be remembered. Always to be honored and always keeping me on my toes as to what comes next!
Jimmy is a perfect gentleman.
Through all his interviews that you can see on here as a young man to the present, his answers are always thorough and thoughtful. Plus a smile is always quick and at the ready. I love listening to him.
What a personality is this man. Love to hear him talk about huis passion.
This man is so classy, despite of his wild youth, and there is no guitarist like ever.
Living guitar legend as well as Clapton,Beck, Santana.John Mclauglin etc. Like Jimmy says he's 70 and he still has passion for music. Rock and Roll forever.
Love you guys Jimmy. Only time I ever saw you was on stage, I was miles away too so couldn't get your autograph. My loss. Keep rocking and thanks for the greatest music I ever had access to anyway. Changed my life. How Many More Times gets me every time ya know. Thanks for the greatest contribution to music there is to me. Someday I'll thank you in person. But might be in the next world.
That was said with true passion.
Excellent post. You should be proud.
🎶🎸🎶
Jimmy, you will be my ethernal guitar man. Thank you for everything you did for rock and roll. Thank you to create Led Zeppelin.
"It's a sexy woman with two necks" - James Patrick Page
Great sound. Very interesting interview with Jimmy. He's so lovable!
You can tell that Jimmy is inherently a decent man, but he sure has lived the ultimate hedonistic rockn'roll life. He's been there, done that. Incredible musician and man. Legend.
I feel Jimmy's frustration with Plant,I really do.
Well yea, they aren't getting any younger, and Page would like a last hoorah before they all die, and I think its shitty of Plant to be sucha tight ass old man about it.
I don't think he's frustrated with him, he's just stating the facts, he'd love to do it again so would Jason and JPJ , but Roberts not into it , and that's just the truth. There's really no other way to answer that question every time it comes up. A TOUR WOULD BE GREAT... BUT IF ROBERT DOESN'T WANT TO DO THAT MAYBE JIMMY CAN CONVINCE HIM OF ONE LAST ZEPPELIN ALBUM OF NEW MATERIAL KIND OF KICK THE MUSIC WORLD IN ITS ASS ONE LAST TIME, YOU KNOW BONZO WOULD BE ALL FOR IT ESPECIALLY WITH JASON ON DRUMS , COME ON ROBERT DO IT FOR BONZO !! AND SHOW THAT DUDE FROM GRETA VAN FLEET HOW IT'S DONE !!!!
The problem with Plant is his huge ego.He really does belive that without him there's no more Led Zepp.
After their 02 gig Plant could not wait to say there would be no more gigs.Jimmy Page was crushed if you watch the interview you can see it for yourselves.Egos and bands never really work in the long run..
@@stephenbrindley246- Plant has stated before that there is no Zeppelin without John Bonham. Saying his ego is getting in the way of a reunion couldn't be further from the truth. There is also the fact that Plant cannot sing the way he used to, and at the consistency in which he did it. Robert said in a recent interview that he doesn't want to dishonor Zeppelin by "going out there and faking it". That's ultimately why he rearranges the old numbers (other than to keep it interesting), because without Bonzo, the songs would lack that groove and finesse that only John Bonham could bring to them.
Robert had his own career by that time and that had to be more important than a Led Zep tour for him. I understand that.
If I were to meet Jimmy I'd say two words, "Thank You". No pun on the song, just thanks for all those years of great music. I cannot think of anyone that was a teenager in the 70's that doesn't feel the same way.
Bless your heart Jimmy.
these guys clicked together like nobody else did i know i play drums i can feel them and can all of us thanks for this love every one peace .
That was possibly the most relaxed i've seen jimmy in an interview ever, well at ease probably better description because there's a few from the 70's he was very very relaxed.
We are fortunate for your life!!!
He kinda looks healthier for his age than when he was in his 20s. Thankful that Jimmy, JPJ, and Plant are still alive and still rocking it! And thank you Jimmy for not pursuing Biological Research!Lol
HE NEVER GAVE UP THE BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH... PEOPLE DON'T KNOW IT BUT JIMMY DID A LOT OF RESEARCH TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GROW TWO MORE ARMS SO HE COULD PLAY BOTH NECKS ON A DOUBLE NECK GUITAR AT THE SAME TIME.
Could watch this over and over again ! What a musician ! Love of music just shines through him
Bravo Jimmy !😍🌞👍
I'd sell my soul to old Jimmy
His Legacy is intact. LZ and the Beatles are unquestionably the Mozarts of our generation to the benefit and pleasure of all future generations. My hope is that JP enjoys playing for enjoyment with his peers and friends and just seeing what develops. I think it would be cool if there were some private forum where our greatest musicians could just jam without any pressure to produce anything, but record it all so if they all do get a hold of something special they could mutually agree to release it for charity.
Thanks for sharing Jimmy! Appreciate the words of wisdom from one of the greats.
What a clever musician pure genius ! One takes no over technology use ! Just brilliant musician 😍
I have always had a huge crush on Jimmy. Young, old, doesn’t matter. He’s a genius! 🥰
I thought you said Jimmy Young .
If you are talking about Jimmy page then yes he is a genius. In my eyes he is the best whos ever played a guitar. Just simply the solo of stairway to heaven puts him the top 10 best guitar players ever.
Sempre meglio giovane....eh🔥
@@martinlewis807 Grammar matters! 😆
@@freebee8221 Who else would I be talking about? 😆
I Love This Man!!!!!! with all my heart and all of my soul!!!!
"It's like a sexy woman with two necks." Cheeky smile. Melt.
Jimmy Page is a genius... incredibly intelligent, passionate about what he did and does... and more to that is is not at all arrogant
Individually and collectively never to be repeated again.
He has a very authoritative character, I like that.
wish this had lasted a lot longer so that he could have answered more questions. fascinating man. can't get enuf stories about the band & songs. thanx for sharing.
Great , no other words needed ... I do find it amazing that him eric and jeff all came from the same town .....
Marvin Arthur They have often been referred to as The Surrey Mafia. 😁
Since ive been loving you.alltime favorite zep song.
Since I've Been Loving You is fabulous, but my pick, from their entire catalog of stellar music would be:
Kashmir
Seeing Page talk about how he cant speak for Robert too reform with Zeppelin is such a downer - you can tell this guy wants to do it more then anything, he just wants to play Zeppelin music to the fans but its Robert that has that decision no one else, like Page said it wont be the same without him on vocals, it isn't complete but all in all Robert aside Jimmy is the heart of the band. He's the pure heartbeat that keeps Zeppelins ethos intact and his passion is limitless. Completely limitless and for that he's not only amazing but he's loyal to us Zeppelin fans. What more could we ask of him.
I still have my fingers crossed for the future but ill always love Page and if i can never see him live then so be it, changes nothing of my love for that man.
jimmy was the brain of zeppelin
the beast was the heart of zeppelin
eatthisvr6 How does that even make sense? "the beast was the heart of Zeppelin". You talk absolute dribble when you think you're talking common sense.......Beast!?. Jimmy is the ethos that has kept Zeppelin intact over all these years hence the fucking fact he's so adamant on giving us another reunion. The beast is the heart of Zeppelin....because that makes sense!! He's not only the brain he's everything. Just bare in mind right now and put it into full perspective whilst your at it. If there was no Jimmy page then there would definitely be no Led Zeppelin, there's your answer. 'Never mind 'The Beast'.
wongyt20 jimmy is the brain of zeppelin
bonham drove them on stage if you cant hear that when they play then i feel very sorry for you.
zeppeiling wouldnt have been zeppelin if ANY of the 4 left/died it really was a sum of all its parts
eatthisvr6 I totally agree with you on all accounts especially about Bonham i'm just expressing how important Page is to Zep. At least out of the three remaining he wants Zeppelins legacy to have more story's i.e performing again as well as JPJ.
I know Zeppelin don't owe anyone anything anymore they've broken there backs as musicians over the years why should they just reform because people like me want them too, i'm not begging for another reunion. I just admire Page's drive to wanting another one being the fact its a now or never scenario he's still fired up to go back from the 2007 gig, this is why i say he is the heart of the band and if 'hearts' to rewarding then i guess i can settle with brain!
wongyt20 anyone ever told you, you talk too much. if they haven't - you talk too much.
The secret of Led Zepplin was there love and respect for the music itself.
I've said it a thousand times, and I'll say it a thousand more....Led Zep were four musicians peaking together at the same time with the freedom to play as themselves. Rare. Nearly unmatched. With the attributes that are paid to them, the unsung hero is Peter Grant. He, as their manager, had their trust that they would never be ripped off. Grant's cut from the band was 20%, from which he paid himself and staff. HE did the business end allowing the musicians to be musicians. When they signed on the "dotted" line, they KNEW they were getting the best deal. 80% were the band's to be divided the way THEY saw fit. Uncanny! Grant's genius was cutting out all the middle men. No promoters. No ticket agents. No vendors. Zeppelin rented the stadiums. They sold the t-shirts, tickets, ect...Mr Grant recognized he had a cash cow. By keeping the "cows" fat and happy, the more milk they would produce. More milk. More money. I'd like to read a book on him.
Still so young and Wise...I'm Speechless. As for Mr.Plant, Pleaaaaaaaaaase just one more time :( every year he refuses to perform with the rest of the band :/ Hope he'll change his mind on day...I'd really love to see them on stage for real... *a dream that has to come true*
Loved this Post-It interview! Loved listening to him talk and seeing him smile.
I adore him
Oooh ya, Jimmy plays the most amazing guitar man. Woah! Even to this day he still plays hot all the time. A huge and shining star of rock music, rock guitar, rock musicians, rock stars.....
Such an amazing guitarist! And I love that he seems so down to earth and positive. I hate when other musicians act like dicks to fans and interviewers but Jimmy seems very cool here and other interviews I've seen.
the remastered albums are awesome!
i love jimmy
I love you jimmy
Why the fuck am I crying at the end of this...?
Got into Zeppelin when I was 15 yrs old int 87....still listening now and collecting....I don't wish to sound like a stick in the mud but with the present music now especially Rock/Metal I can't tell who they are they all sound the same (Pro-Tools has alot to do with it very polished) but with Zeppelin. ..Queen...Metallica...Iron Maiden....Anthrax...Megadeth etc I can tell who they are after 5 secs into a song....and yes I do listen to new bands...and nd it takes me longer to know who they are....one newish band that stands out is Mastodon....they stand out alot...I'm sure it's the same with other new bands...but I'm not alone in thinking they sound the same...
Love the spinal tap-esque moment at 3:08 "The sum total of the four musicians just gave us the ability to be able to just, rocket...you know....become like a rocket....". *Sighs as if to think "What the fuck did I just say?"
yeah noticed that lol
This is superb, especially the end.
for led Zeppelin lovers and people that appreciate Jimmy Page's masterful artistic guitar work we're lucky to be on the same planet with a human being like Jimmy Page fantastic human being multi-talented
Hope it’s is ok to say my two cents about what comes to mind….Led Zeppelin = the Power Of Music.
Your music grabs me and takes me in and lifts/motivates me! So much karma going on in the 70s.
Much love and admiration to you Jimmy.
Anyone else giggle at the way he he said my name is Jimmy Page in the begining 😂😂
Einstein = Physics, Shakespeare = litterature, Jimmy Page = Rock, blues, music. It might get loud.
Arouk Kane You got one wrong, Fernando Pessoa=Litterature (not Shakespeare, he was good but not that good)...but hey everybody's ignorant in one respect or another.
denie wilson Its not thank you as Robert Plant would say "eye thank you"
Mike Swann More people know who Shakespeare is. I never even heard of Fernando Pessoa.
Jimmy Page out shines & out plays every other guitarist, he always plays with so much passion. He needs to play & create, like needing to breath. His genius of writing playing producing & mixing, has changed the world & music forever. Love you Jimmy so much, & thank you for making my & the whole worlds live more beautiful.
Jimmy at the end is amazing
That was awesome!!! thanks for posting .👍🏿
It's a sexy woman with two necks everyone needs one Jimmy is just a Down to Earth person very humble
Great interview thanks
Quel Grand Monsieur. Modeste et génial. Un grand musicien.
What a great man he is. Always articulate and passionate about music. A true musical genius and legend.
Lovely humble gentleman of such legendary status. I think he'll be getting a telegram for his 100 th looking at his apparent health at this time. Long may this master musician continue to grace the earth. An interesting point he mentions concerning Clapton, Beck and himself all coming from Surrey and living quite close to each other is similar to that of Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins and Michael Sheen all famous actors from the same area in South Wales.........Hmmmmm anybody think there's a market for Surrey and Port Talbot mineral water??
It was the magic of the four geniuses. The proof is those songs still hold up today. Led Zepplin was so very influential then and now. A unique and very talented band. Love you Jimmy.
"Sooo - sparkling"...💚💙
Jimmy Page keeps saying that he cannot speak about re-forming Led Zeppelin because Robert Plant is unwilling. However, Robert Plant always blames the unwillingness of Page and Baldwin to discuss it. In Plant's 60 Minutes interview this last spring, he said "Well then you need to speak to the Capricorns, because I have nothing to do in 2015".
One of these men is not telling us the truth about themselves and from this interview and the emotion in Page's answer, I begin to believe it is Plant that does not want to work with the others. I would love to see the two interviewed together with someone brave enough to put them on the spot together.
I'm not trying to be a dick becaus I love all of them and I respect them. But you watch interviews wit the three of them and robert always almost always jumps the interviewer about it. Jimmy and jonesy are always open about it. So I think robert just wants to work on his own. I think robert still has a hard time about zeppelin, loosing his best friend, the band breaks up and he is lonely, he gets a divorce. So I can't blame any of them nor should we speak for them
+Guitar Tech Robert's voice cant hold up enough for a full on tour of zep material . He'll never admit it but that's why they do only occasional things.

CK Martin They could still do a couple of gigs here and there. Fans would love to see them, I’m sure.
You know what's really nice, is I remember few, several times that Tony, or Ozzy, would tell me what was going on with the album, when they might want to release it, where, what was going on with current politics they felt in the area, and if it was going to pass for some reason, anybody, what we thought the title of the album should be or not. I felt from like the time I was 1-2 very informed with the people excited to see how it would be recieved and changing, taking place in them - cuz the people are bad and evil and they are not aquainted on how to accept stuff. As, it was a learning experience for me too. I am glad that I did not have to feel stepped on, forgotton about or unimportant, because I felt Black Sabbath as that group - did not take advantage of the system, and were more than available to take critisizm- which never came from me (only from themselves) or these supposed fans they are supposed to have! When we asked you to not do anything over Sabbath - maybe you don't understand as ur fukin artist critique selves - we meant - "you would not put out any albums anywhere!" And, did you notice we did that as a group, no back and forth, no maybe. I decided what I wanted and to be quite honest ur system of John Paul (and Plant doesn't look too good either) was stealing from us.
Sorry, guess we should have had a bttr conversation in 73, when I was told what I wanted and how it would be, but I didn't get a chance to relay that and walked away. None the less, those aren't ur friends, I guarntee, I spent a lot of time at it, and honestly Jimmy, if I was gonna put a dollar amount on it, sorry Robert, but about how much would you be owing me? And I mean that sincerely, cuz i don't wanna be ever buying ur albums looking at our hostage Black Sabbath situation - where I fuking chose, get that?
Thank You. Have a nice day! : )
This is what a person looks like when one stays in control of their life without drugs!
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH IT HURTS PLEASE LORD WATCH OVER HIM AND THE OTHER LIVING MEMBERS OFV THIS AMAZING BAND WE HAVE BEEN LOOSING TO MANY ICONS FROM MY GENERATION🙏

Of interest. I was late in my arrival. I had been living with my son at his home in Missouri for near a year when Mr page sent the video via UA-cam's ,wanting to see me
I was late. Sherrif Bessemer , delira kartheiser
so he wrote "with a purple umber-Ella and a fifty cent hat". I had no idea he ever wrote lyrics
Fantastic
Legend has it that Jimmy Page is really Shang Tsung of Mortal Kombat....

you will have to go to the white summer black mountain solo to get the rest of my story, once in the woods playing a heavy bass tune, a little green inch worm, crawled up on a rock and started rocking out, Thus I would like to do a zepp version of the Mills Bro. Glow worm, lets take it way out there....xoxoxo

7:40 Ringtone for when the ex-wife calls.
EXCELLENT
To put it mildly it was an excess thing to introduce himself I think
PEOPLE DON'T KNOW IT BUT JIMMY NEVER GAVE UP ON THE BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH.. HE SPENT A LOT OF HIS FREE TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GROW TWO MORE ARMS SO HE COULD PLAY BOTH NECKS ON THE DOUBLE NECK GUITAR AT THE SAME TIME.
Hallå ! Ni är ju bara de bästa! Kram/Eva

Tom Baldwin Well thanks to the groupies he managed to do a lot of that.

Brilliant man, a lot of issues in his life but which great artist doesn't have one?
