i would love to make a bunch of these and donate them. May I ask how you approached the senior home ? do we need to stay away from certain fibers like maybe wool or something ?
I have been making slippers for residents in nursing facilities I have been using what I thought was the easiest pattern ever I came across your pattern by accident and my goodness this is exactly what I needed plus it's easy and a little more sturdy I'm so glad I found your site
You just gave me the confidence to make nice-looking, nice-fitting slippers for my husband! I had him try on the toe part and he wanted it tighter, so I did just one decrease for 3 rows and he likes it! So I'm in the area of the 'flat' area until I can enclose his heel nicely. I've tried other patterns that did not turn out at all. My husband finally is getting his slippers!❤️❤️❤️ This girl is so happy! Thank you!❤️❤️❤️
It's that time of year to start making a couple of slippers for the colder weather. I've been a crocheter for many years but I always enjoy watching as many videos as I can. I just found yours and love it! I love how you explain the process and that it's a formula and not a pattern! Thank you!
Brilliant!!! I’ve tried SO many of these ‘patterns’. Due to cancer surgery, one foot is twice the size of the other so regular slipper sock patterns leave me puzzling on how to work out making one SS wider than the other. Not with you’re formula! I’ve made several & all turned out perfect. Thanks so much for working this formula out and sharing it You’re a 🌟 My feet are warm and comfy and... I’ve beat the bejesus out of cancer! Love to you!
I would like to say finding this tutorial was a god-sent. I had tried this formula as you call it and ended up with the sides being too small I was able to take that part of the slipper apart and do it your way. Thank you very much for putting this on You Tube.
Idk WHOO you are!! BUUTTT!! You ARE Soo goood at yr craft! I've been crocheting since 13yo. & to see you move so smoothly into & through yr work... Its sooo amazing!! BRAAAAVOO BRAAAAVOO!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I like the contrast color cuff. I have been asked to make a slipper for an elderly person who has very big feet. I’m hoping my husband’s big feet will be a good pattern. LOL this man’s wife passed away and used to make him very simple slippers and his son wants something similar. This is the simplest one I found. Even though it is still fancier than the ones he’s used to. I’m sure they were made many years back. Thank you and I will subscribe to your channel.
I've made so many of these! I wear a 9-1/2 to 10 size shoe in women's and these fit perfect! I also made a pair using double yarn and a size 6MM hook and I wear them all winter, in fact I need to get to making another pair for this coming winter. Thank you for this video, it's amazing!
I love the way you want us to Express ourselves in our own work. So many tutorials are very strict about how you need to do it. Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials.
I have to play your videos, they make me smile. Your instruction to chain up with the crochet hook of choice, that makes this so worth watching your videos. I have tried to make these with not much luck and yes it was due to looking at my start and saying ...hummmm. then making more stitches …you guessed it. too big and floppy flop. Intro was cute too thanks again.
Hubby is a wide 9.5 so I had to make adjustments and he wanted a higher cuff. He's very happy and I'm happy to have found an adjustable formula. Thanks so much!
Thank you Mr. Fiber Spider for the excellent tutorial. I did tweak it a lot as I used thinner wool...so used a smaller hook, did more rows, etc etc. You showed the worked sock on your foot which worked perfectly for me and made it much easier to follow. I liked your formula and at every step encouraged one to use their grey cells. The cuff too was great. God bless....from Mumbai, India. 💝 The climate here is too hot but have made it for my daughter who is overseas.
I just finished working slippers in multiples of 12 but had to tweak to size 5/6 and 7 women's slippers. It took a while to figure this out but I have done it thanks to your formula; thank you
Thx for these beautiful but easy sleep socks, and it was so helpful that it was not a pattern but rather a formula as i have made it for my hubby, who has broad feet, & i am a very badic does it type of gal, so this worked wonderfully. Thank you for this tutorial it was simple and easy to follow. 🎉
I’ve just been given these slippers by my step daughter amy who just loves your channel, she introduced me to crochet, these slippers are sooooo cosy and will try and persuade her to make me another pair 🙏🏽🇬🇧
Just what I was looking for, thank you for your tutorial’s. I’ve made many items from watching you, I love how easy you make it. Now my hubby has the slippers he was asking for! ❤
I have made so many of your crochet projects and today I made these lovely slippers! You are the person who has taught me everything I know about crochet. I'm only sorry that I wasn't mature enough to let my own grandmothers teach me crochet when they were alive. I'm sure they would be thrilled with your videos. I love that you made these via a formula so that they could be easily adjusted. You're the absolute best and even though I never comment on youtube stuff... after making so many of your projects I had to thank you! :) :) :)
Made the slippers but bigger for my son. He has size 13 to 14 UK size feet, did it in chunky colours knitting wool. Really pleased with the end result. Thank you for your tutorial, I love following them x
I love these, just made pairs for my three children, my husband and myself. They are so snug and cozy! I did tweak the cuff a little for the children, made it a bit taller so it would sit under the legs of their pj's and keep them toasty. Thank you so much for this :D
I have watched sooo many videos and yours is the first one that made perfect sense. I like everything about it, from start to finish, especially that it is a formula, not a pattern. Thank you!!!
Thank you. I’ve made four single slippers from four different patterns before choosing this pattern for making slipper gifts. I feel confident I’ll be able to adjust the size for different family members. Love the ribbing. This is the second Fiber Spider video I’ve used to help me crochet something wonderful.
Hello. I really enjoyed your video. Loved the HDC stitch for these slippers, your right it’s the best of both worlds. I also liked your reason behind the first row of the cuff. The SC2TOG is a wonderful idea. It evens out the stitch and makes it look really nice. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this pattern. I have tried many slipper patterns and yours is the best. I have made 5 pairs and going to make many more. Once again thanks a lot and God bless you.
Thank you soooooo much for this tutorial. I tweaked it a bit. I started with a closed ring using chain 3 to make a circle. Then started with the chain 12 in the ring. I left off the back post double crochet and my daughter just loved them. This is the first pair of slippers that I have ever made. Now everyone wants a pair
Thank you, Craig, for the fabulous tutorial! These look very simple to make. I have been trying to come with an idea for Christmas gifts. You have solved my dilemma. Great video.
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial I so enjoyed I'm a newbie was easy to follow ... Thank you so much here's a thumbs up ... Stay safe and healthy ... God bless ...
Oh this is so going to be my next project. These slippers look awesome and super easy to make. I love the fact you've made a formula as opposed to a pattern as I always struggle with sizes and tension and what not. Plus I love your commentary. I normally watch enough to get the gist and then skip the repetitive bits but I found myself listening to your video all the way through from start to finish. I love the analogy you made about us all being like little snowflakes, so true. Thank you 😚
Love love love this pattern already made a pair, one of the best slipper patterns I’ve seen yet. Slippers for everyone on my list. Thank you so much, love your tutorial hugs!
Love these slippers. Thanks for explaining how to measure! I'm making my 2nd pair. I used Lion Brand Thick & Quick Jumbo yarn. Here is how I adapted the formula. With M crochet hook (9mm) I only put 6 hdcs in 1st round, 12 in 2nd round & 18 in 3rd round. This gave me a very roomy toebox. 3 rounds of 18 hdc. Switch to L (8mm) hook. 1 round hdc (still 18 sts) 5 rounds sc, pulled tight. This part fits over the arch of the foot, so adjust as needed. For flat section, I switched back to M hook Each row had 14 hdcs. Then I put a high cuff on the slipper. I think this time, I will go even higher, but will increase as I go, so the cuff can be unfolded to keep my legs warm too.
You make me smile. I LOVE this slipper bootie, but wish I had the row breakdown for different sizes, as I am making them for a friend with a small foot--and not sure when to stop crocheting in the round. Thank you for this "pattern" it's awesome.
OhMyGoodness!!! You are such a blessing!! I have been looking for slippers pattern/formula everywhere, not quite finding exactly what i was looking for in a crocheted slipper. I had yarn left over from a queen size hexagon granny stitch blanket i made for a birthday gift and with birthday coming up and yarn left over i desperately needed to make a matching pair of slippers to complement the blankie AND enters your video today!!! On a day off of all days! Love the synchronicities! Thank you for this slipper formula! EXACTLY what i was looking for!!!🙏💝🎉
Thanks Mr Spider for the tutorial . Yes the initial fitting can be a head scratcher but as long as you write the formula down you're set for life. Have a good week. Cheers.
Thank you so much! You are amazing and make things as simple as possible. I just made my first slipper and it turned out so pretty. Wish I could share a pic.
I was searching around youtube for an easy fast slipper I could make. I saw a couple of others before yours but was not at all happy with the look of one after I finished it and the other was in spiral and really didn't care for it. Then I tried yours and really really happy with them they are easy and fast and you explained it all very well and easy to follow along. I did have to do a bit of tweeking as you said but not hard at all. I will be making more for my family and can not wait to see your other video's.
Thank you so much for this pattern. I literally built it around my foot so it fits perfectly. I'm just getting back to this hobby and I had a nice time making these. You are a good teacher.
This is the perfect 'seasonal' video FS!!! My feet are always cold once the leaves start turning. I'm in Ontario Canada and right on the lakeshore, sooo, I've been toe-frozen for about 3 weeks now lol! Thank you so much! *fetches hooks and yarn* Fiber Spider, you ROCK!!!
Thanks so much Fibre Spider. I really enjoyed that one. I used a super chunky yarn and a size 7mm hook. It took a bit of tweaking as you said but I'm getting there. Not 16 rounds just 12 but we'll see how it turns out. Thanks. I really enjoy your videos. You're so easy going and you just don't stress me out at all.
THANK YOU!! I am a beginner and often don't understand written or video instructions because there is not enough explanation. I love this formula approach and your rationale behind each decision. I look forward to trying this myself - in honor of my great grandmother who made them for all of us each Christmas :)
Thank you for a great video! I have tried several times to make slipper socks because I have a lot of hardwood floors and definitely need these in the winter time! I have one slipper done using Lion Brand Landscapes Fusion yarn...it is do soft. I will make rhe other slipper tomorrow. 😊
I appreciate your lesson! I finally got he right technique, I have a granddaughter with a very large foot, I had done a slipper with another instruction and it was a catastrophe, the size of the hook does matter and the 24 chains to measure was a real great help! Always looking for something to keep my feet warm. You are like me you have a small foot. Lol. I wear a size 6 or 7 ladies. Love your tutorials. Thank you.

The easiest slippers ever!!! Thank you for sharing!!!! You make and explain things so plain and simple.
Thank-You so much for sharing your talent. I love your sence of humor. You always make learning fun.
Yes, I agree, that HDC stitch is a better choice!
Always enjoy your tutorials. Thanks!
Thank you for taking time to show your beautiful skills this pattern works great😊😊🙏🙏

Another great video!! I totally agree that formulas are much better than a pattern when it comes to wearables. Thank you !❤️

Great tutorial Craig, you're a very thoughtful man . I like your one two, two together. It could be your Slipper Waltz. 😊

Love your calming voice.
I really liked this slipper and the fact you tell how to make it my own.
Thank you for discussing formula! This is so helpful.
Thanks Mr Spider for the tutorial . Yes the initial fitting can be a head scratcher but as long as you write the formula down you're set for life. Have a good week. Cheers.
These are fun and easy. Enjoyed your modeling. I laughed out loud!

I had never done back and front post on double crochet either, I learned something new! Thank you so much, I’m a subscriber now!!
Thanks for the share. Just made one part of the pair and really love it. Can't wait to make some more for the kids. Wish me luck!
I have been looking for a nice and easy crochet pattern for a house slipper and this looks perfect! Thank you!
