- Unfortunately, there has been various copyright issues in the past that has caused this video to become un-uploadable to UA-cam, so various copyright barriers have been put in place including mild filtering, slowness but it is still on pitch. This is the only full recording captured on UA-cam of Frank Sinatra's final performance of his 1969 hit "My Way" written by Paul Anka. This video showcases Frank's unfortunate rapid decline and inability to recollect the "My Way" lyrics, this was recorded only 4 years before his tragic passing. This is NOT actually the true final performance as a couple nights later he preformed in the desert but there is no captured footage of such event so this has been ruled as the final live capture. I'm surprised Sinatra actually was able to preform this as in one of his previous performances he completely blacked out the same year but yet again here he is. So Enjoy!

this hurts because it’s my actual first time seeing Frank this old, you always see him in his album covers so young, mature and happy, this honestly breaks my heart
Age really affected him after 1990, so sad.
Well, that's life after all...
same feeling bro...
There's no reason for it to break your heart. This is a man who lived for his audience. His performance is not sad it's inspirational. It's him, the band and that's it. No auto-tune no dancers no technicians fixing the background
But i saw it happy, he had a great life and is proud of what he did and he’s happy to leave this way
We all get old! It shouldn't break your heart! He was a living legend at that point! Seems happy to me!
Although it seemed hard for him to perform, his delivery sounds exhausted, but in a symbolic way. He lived such a long and illustrious life and had a marvelous career. What a legend.
He never did a bad version. Ever! What an artist!
Not exhausted, emotional for him
I don't get the idea this was exhausted. He's almost 80 years old there's life experience here and automatically people will assume his physical issues are at play rather than simply an artist working to perform in a different way. I saw his final performance in in Massachusetts in 1994 at Tanglewood and he started New York New York by mentioning other cities which was not his memory was actually a gag used before, but the couple sitting next to me thought it was his memory which was not at all the case. Were there times the last few years of his wrong way he did lose his way absolutely but this really was not one of them
I'm 76 years old. When Frank was 25, and on the verge of really breaking out, my Dad was 20, and my Mom was 15. Frank's music always played a big part in their lives, back then. It was the great swing era. And that carried over into my very early life in 1947, and beyond. No matter what musical trends developed during my life in the late '50s, 60s, 70's and beyond, Frank Sinatra's huge, powerful voice, and personality, was never too far away. He was a great singer and a great entertainer. And through the phenomenal musical legacy that he left for all of us, he will never die. There, I said it, "My Way".
I'm only in my 20's so for Frank Sinatra life had always been one of the past rather than something happening currently. But as a young boy my mother used to play this movie and keep it on the menu where it played Sinatra singing over the rainbow, and always used to put me to sleep. From then on I grew up with a love for him and his music which stuck with me much like how he did with you.
It's no surprise that "My Way" is a hugely popular song for peoples funeral, A bit too cheesey for me.
I was at that show. It was a heart breaker. However, I will never forget, it was still a great show.
holy shit thats awesome
This is a fitting song for his final performance
BONJOUR ! OUI, C'EST LE CONCERT " D'ADIEU "À LA CENNE ,IL ÉTAIT TRÈS DIFFICILE POUR LUI, R.I.P. !!!
AMICALEMENT, NELLY, BELGIQUE.
You can see him slightly forgetting the lyrics. Rip legend
Maybe he's just getting emotional.
he is just doing it his way
@@adaharrisonn he had pretty bad dementia near the end of his life
As a long time Sinatra fan, seeing this makes me bawl my eyes out. The thought through his old age he could still preform in this fashion only 4 years before his death. God, the power, the strength. Even though he has forgotten almost all of his lyrics he still kept singing. You can see in his eyes as he recounts his life and how he lived it.
I was under the impression he changed the lyrics to give himself more chances to breathe inbetween words, which fits the theme of the song heartbreakingly-well - an admission of old age.
Nobody is bothered about his performance here, because we love him.
He is a champ
He is a legend
Que increíble!
I actually think it's incredibly well done. It's almost closing his cycle. My way is about recounting his way, and he knows it's far from perfect at this age, with mafia involvement and whatnot, so he knows he has actually done it, his way. And he's almost just laying it out, in a simple tone, and simple cadence, just emphasizing what he personally considers important... It's a really personal rendition. I love it. To think it actually was his last, and part of him probably knew it... What a legend
What an Orchestra 👌
Even though Franks voice was becoming more slower in his later years due to his Alzheimer’s one thing will never change he never ever lost his quality Frank we miss you, you’re forever the greatest crooner in my eyes may you rest forever in peace with Sammy David and Tony Bennett ❤️
I don't know whether it was Alzheimer's or the Elavil his wife was giving him, or maybe a combination. All of his kids said they could tell when he was on Elavil. That stuff will slur one's speech and cause all sorts of memory problems. Whichever, he's still A number 1, king of the hill, top of the list.
I didn’t realize he had Alzheimer’s, damn shame
I saw Sinatra twice in the mid-80s, and even then he was struggling with his voice and dropping lyrics. By the time this performance was recorded, I thought he was long overdue for retirement. Yet when I watch this now, I absolutely love his performance, flaws and all. The way Sinatra's frailty contrasts with his defiance makes this so much more interesting than if it had been sung by someone in their vocal and physical prime. Only someone of Sinatra's age and with his life experiences - and all he was able to conjure up emotionally looking back at them - could pull off a performance like this.
I also saw him in concert in the 1980's. It was sad to see him forgetting words
and his voice cracking but it was still great to see him live in concert. Not one of
my favorite Sinatra songs and he did not like that song either.
Man… There’s no words to describe how I feel about this man. Such an inspiring and uplifting performance. It isn’t perfectly sang, but seeing Frank so emotional, and struggling but yet delivering this lovely song is heartbreaking. Sometimes when I feel low I come back to this performance, and it always brings me positive, warm feelings. I love Sinatra, and always will. Rest in peace big legend. Hope to see you up there someday.
I also like how his perspective on the words of this song has changed so profoundly. It’s beautiful.
Even with his voice at far from his strongest, his interpretation is second to none. He acts the song more than sings it, and the effect is truly moving
People are complaining he lost his voice here . I don't see it that bad . Lots of emotion
His worst singing voice is better than everyone else's best voice!
Ramen Lover.........He didn't as you say "put his son in his shadow" his son wasn't him, was he? there was only one Frank Sinatra, no one , not even his own son as he indisputably was, in looks manner and voice could replace the artist the unique Francis Albert Sinatra, RIP you were quite something Frank.❤️
@@ramenlover1727 he never did that to his son. It was society that did that. The retarded society that complains like "the OG better" abd vash on him because his son had a "Jr." In his name
Given this was "The Final Curtain", he gave everything he had left. And he went out "His Way".
The same with the who band, but I'm seeing them anyway, I don't care, we all age, and it's a matter of love!
his blue eyes and that immaculate voice is still shining through despite his old age. Almost like a soul that yearns freedom trapped in a room that decays throughout the years and eventually fall apart, breaking free that beautiful soul trapped in there. RIP legend
this is both beautifully and tragically written.. i sincerely thank you 😔
this is both beautifully and tragically written.. i sincerely thank you 😔
i was born in 2004, but wish i was alive at the right time to see him perform live, i really love his sound. watching this final performance really drove it home for me.
Same but I was born 2008
i was born in 03. it's so nice to see other people of my generation showing love to the late, great Frank Sinatra.
Man y’all were born in the worst era in American history, even worse than the Great Depression, at least there weren’t trannies running rampid and girls were able to enjoy sports before men started calling themselves girls to compete. One day when it’s time to vote for you guys think with your heads please, don’t believe this garbage from the democrats. It’s all a show, we’re going broke, there’s no future for you kids in this mess Biden has created, communism and socialism is a terrible thing. Glad to see y’all at least like good music.
Amen! Im an ‘08 Kid Too! 😊
I doubt you would. There was no internet back then for you to just randomly stumble on him like you did now. You could only randomly stumble on his music if you watched Vh1 late at night but most kids at the time were MTV oriented.
I love how he is perfoming his words with his hand and with his eyes. Truly legend to me!
I feel the purest emotion about his life in this performance.
I feel proud of frank... he did not sang it perfecly but he sang with love and that is all that counts. Rest in peace frank sinatra. A true lengend.
Although, right to the bitter end, his voice never failed him, ya can tell that his memory was definitely starting to. Old age sucks, man! ☹
But the alternative is not to live to old age, maybe that's not better, I don't know.
@@lukasnummer1 yeah, is there really a good age to die?
So sad seeing him forget some of the lyrics..
If you really listen for almost the entire performance he's perfectly on pitch
Nobody has phrasing like Frank Sinatra! It just got better and better as he aged. This is what a vocal “fine wine” is ladies and gentlemen.
Streisand's phrasing is excellent.
Literally his swan song what a life, a man, an utter legend.
To sing like this at almost 80 years old is just magic! His unique voice cant ever be replied no matter how much anyone'd try! His spirit we'll remain alive for ever! I was 3 years old when this performance took place and I'm a romanian as well!! Hats off to this magician of the music!!
He was wonderful. Now, I watch on UA-cam, most of His Concerts, around the World.
actually watching him sing a song about death 4 years before he passed, is depressing AF.
Aloha to you Frank Sinatra !!!!! Am now 80 years old and live in Hawaii. You are one of my heroes because of your gift of song, dance,
and acting and just being great humanitarian for everyday people all over the world !!!!! Thank you so very much my friend !!!!! I, too,
like you have done these "My Way" like you !!!!!! A most grateful fan, Robert S.J. Hu June 10, 2022.
He lived every word of the song , it may have been his last performance but he gave us so much .Love you Frank . Rest now with Dean and Sammy.
First I ever heard this. I had tears in my eyes listening to it but ' Happy tears " I have listened to Frank since I was about 5 yrs old, since my mother adored him. At 78 he could still sing. one of the greatest entertainers of ALL TIME
God bless you frank. You did it " Your way "
It's not a voice exhausting its lived experience and passion
I love frank Sinatra, people said his performance here wasn't very good well his voice was fine for an aging legend, but at times he seem not to know the next lyric to the song, but like a champ ,he came through
R.i.p.sir francis.
He did this song his way
Vincent, I'd like to hear all these fuckers that can't sing fill a hall.
OMG! I've never seen this before. It's an amazing portrait of a great artist and storyteller. The brushwork might have been a little dodgy but the overall image he was creating was 100% in tact. What is perfection if not truth and authenticity. This performance used both these elements to tell us a story that truly mattered. And - but oh my! The fragile beauty of his elderly voice retained artistry, elegance & incomparable truth until the end. I mean - what a blessing!
Well said Mark.
Still at that stage, there is that familiar soft Frank voice and sound, no matter what the overall performance is. The Man, The Legend.
Besides all whats been said... This man has a spirit making him forever young.
I was a year old when he made this but still saw it on tape my family recorded when i was 8. What a legend
Старый-добрый Френк... Он был блистательным до самого конца. Жизнь хороша во многом благодаря его песням, спасибо ему.
I was a fan. Even at this point it was a great performance. Noone could do it like him.
He was the chairman of the board and actually still is, because nobody can do it like Frank !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very sad to hear his voice Like this, but fought till the very end. Rip ol blue eyes, know that you are missed terribly, but your music lives on.
Well said, man
and he was about 79 then.
His voice may change, but his style of singing will never, that is the true charm of his singing
I can only pray and hope every waking moment to have my voice half as strong as his when I'm 79 man, as a singer that truly is an aspiring thing to even fathom
He did his way mate
He made a song so great, that even death let him live another 30 years.
He was knowing his own end is near, very nice and emotional version of this Song ❤
I love this performance. He stands naked with his heart wide open, and that more than compensates for the loss of memory and vocal capacity.
No words..
So sad to see how fragile we are, in short words “ we are nothing”
“Remember You are Dust and to Dust You Shall Return”
Genesis 3:19
Farewell to one of the greatest singers in history. A true legend. God Bless!
Great video! He was 78ish here. Pretty neat to see what Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones are pulling off this summer with their tours given their ages, but they do have a few decades of medical advances.
I’m 20 at the moment but when I have kids and they then have kids I’ll make sure they know of the late great Frank Sinatra and of his beautiful melodies
I love this song.. It truly represents the “Heart of A Man”
A gem of a man, his voice is a part of us all
I believe owed himself these last years on stage with Frank, Jr. right beside his Dad coaching him and encouraging him to still give the best. Each of us can give our best to the end.
Even at this age he still has a beatiful voice
Moved to tears. There will never be another like him.
Can’t believe he lived to be in his 80’s
He was clearly projected his life experience into this classic masterpiece 👏👏👏
It's insanely ignorant the way that the general public judges performers as they age based on what they did when they were in their prime. This is the Frank Sinatra I WANT to see at eighty years old. He'd lived it, he was preaching it. As he always did. And the audience sat with rapt attention. As they always did. This performance should be celebrated! The last My Way? Are you kidding me? It's fucking epic. Please understand what you're looking at and listening to before you make idiotic comments like "this breaks my heart." Maybe your heart wasn't working properly to begin with.
I disagree, the reason this breaks my heart is that his singing embodies the message of the song so well. I can hear the pain from it and its beautiful, maybe its not the objectively best singing but it sure is hell the best at making someone emotional.
looking for something to be mad at clearly lol
you are completely disregarding the emotion in his performances, which is arguably the reason why Sinatra made music in the first place.
ahhh frank, fuck em,you were fabulous.
The man who god created to sing! Thank you for the treasure you left for us, Ol Blue Eyes 💙
This makes me tear up. Thanks for uploading this gem. Wonderful...and poignant. :-)
Nothing wrong with this performance, it's amazing that man was still on the stage at nearly 80 year old. He's one of a few singers that could actually sing not like today's computer tuning crap. Frank and Dean are my favourite crooners 😊
We love and miss you Frank
Even Though he forgets some of the words. He is still an amazing singer. IF only I was alive when he was to meet him
He was older and y’all know how many times he had to perform this song ya voice box gets tired I love this song forever continue to rest mr frank thank you for the beautiful song
I truly felt his soul in every word, he seemed like such a sad man, completing his legendary journey is such an ironic fashion, truly, it might seem depressing to some, but for me this serves as yet another source of a boundless fountain of respect I have for this man, he really lived this song out, all the way to the end.
Listening to him shows me how far we’ve come as human beings. To think he passed away in 1998…..so close to 2000. Truly a man at the edge of the last millennium.
Frank, the man with a true voice of an angel. May he rest easy.
Elvis and Frank both performed PERFECT songs for their last performance
Listen to the last words that he said when he was done singing he wasn't singing for money he was singing because he had a talent that he wanted to share in doing it to please his fans. What modern singer do you know that is that devoted to his fans
This hurts my heart so much to see him like this, seeing him struggling to sing feels so not right. I really loved this guy, he was a true legend. Rest in peace frank
After all those years, his voice was still so symbolic
He did this a thousand times, he was frailer than the old days but it was still the Chairman, still the boss. Tears rolled as I watched.
So sad to watch 😢
he used to perform with his voice, this shows he performed with his voice, eyes and hands.
I love the man he will always be the man and the best
This vídeo is both awesome and very sad at the same time
Its so hard to see him so old! He looks like he’s finally gotten tired. And like how everytime he sings thing song he sings it HIS way.
The best
The Chairman is forever in our hearts; in making his own way, he helped millions along their path. Indeed, with his passing, the twentieth century came to an end.
Thank you what a legendary voice💜🧡❤️💗💖💝💘
Sinatra always said Lady's phrasing inspired his and the older he got the more you could hear it because when his voice wouldn't do what he wanted he would use that Lady Day-type phrasing to his advantage and it sounded so natural coming from him because he had always used it just not to the same degree as his much later years. Sintra was and still is a vocal giant.
Felt the song so much i had tears through out. His best performance of this song for me❤️❤️
I was blessed by my mother to be able to see this concert with my daughter and my father! We knew it was the end...and we were grateful
What a fantastic and touching moment to hear this wonderful singer doing a last performance! I hope you rest in peace Frankie Boy and the world will miss your wonderful voice forever!
One of the greatest performers of all time!
Yo escuchando a Sinatra desde mis 20 años❤
Sad to hear how his voice was towards his end and how he would forget some words, RIP bluey
The GOAT know one will ever comes close..
Thank you for ever for your great art
God Bless you Frank ❤ I hope your still singing in heaven ❤ What a great loss to all of us ❤
This hits different... R.I.P Sinatra🕊️
I love Frank Sinatra. I love this man.
The fact that he dropped "that's full" and just sung "I have lived a life..." followed by his sad old face made me tear up a bit not gonna lie
Thank you for all the great music memories you was a good man and is missed. If there is really a heaven may you RIP until the end you did it your way. ❤
This chokes me up just like when Elvis sang unchained melody
RIP , Mr. Frank Sinatra 🙏
You did real good , paisano 🇮🇹
You'll never be forgotten ❤
the best....i love is performances and songs...
Beautiful,gave us beautiful songs 👏👏🙏❤️
This is the anthem of every man. Summed up in a four minute song. Nothing sad about this, we celebrate his life and his greatness. I hope I go out singing.God bless Francis Albert Sinatra.
This was literally the perfect song to go out on. The lyrics perfectly encapsulates what we loved about Frank so much 😢 but it was also sweet af to see him really sort of sing the lyrics as though he was talking about his life. That was clear in his tone and expressions at the end
Beautiful song reminds me so much of my childhood listening to this and now I’m 20 years old
Frank was such an inspiring Artist to so many
A GREAT SINGER , ACTOR, AND MAN......REST IN PEACE FRANK. ALWAYS REMEMBERED ..ONLY WILL EVER BE ONE FRANK SINATRA...YOU...
The One and Only .... A lifetime of exceptional entertaining. Thank you for the memories you added in my lifetime.
2023 and standing still . I love this song so much . Related with my life 😢
My Biggest Respect is still to Mister Frank Sinatra. My best movie of Mister Frank Sinatra is : Suddenly. Rest In Peace Mister Sinatra.
